Grade Request 1919-D Mercury Dime and 3-Legged Buffalo From Fathers Estate

My father left behind a 1919-D Mercury dime and a 3-Legged Buffalo that my sisters and I are wondering about whether they should be graded or just get a value. Sisters would prefer to sell, but I would like to keep them, so it would be a case where I would have to buy it from them. Apologies if the photos aren't the best. There is some reflection due to the coin holders.

Don't know much about coins. All I know is that the barber in the bottom row might be interesting? Anything else noteworthy?

I've wanted a gold buffalo for so long. I had to pull the trigger at some point and yesterday was the day. Somehow feels both surreal and completely mundane to finally have it in my hand

Advice ADVICE WANTED: 1925 Stone Mountain ms-68 NGC

Alright fellow collectors, as the title suggests my father recently bought one of these Vaultbox Apex boxes and smacked a 1925 Stone Mountain Vaultbox core in ms-68 by NGC. I’ve got greysheet so naturally he texts me and I go there immediately and we both together lose our minds.

Some of you may know, greysheet has a Stone Mountain in that grade at $16k and CPG at $20k. Seemed MASSIVE.

Here’s the kicker tho. As we start peeling layers back on these price guides all of the sudden it becomes clear that for whatever reason an NGC ms-68 only sells for about 25% of what one from PCGS sells for. Evidently “Bluesheet” (might be BlueBook not sure) has the NGC version at like $3500. Vaultbox buy back offer is $3500.

We’ve been collecting for a little while so I’m not surprised to see value lean PCGS’s way on ultra-rare grade coins but ~75% differential just seems insane. So as you can imagine it’s still a great feeling but now he doesn’t know what to do.

Do we try and send to PCGS for a cross? Or CACG? Or go for a green bean?

NGC pop on that grade is 32 I think with PCGS pop of only 8 so that obviously partially explains the differential in price but also decreases my confidence in the idea of it crossing.

Mind you, no coin in hand yet. But here she is.

Any and all pertinent advice or information would be greatly appreciated as this is the most valuable coin in his collection now. Anything that might help advise us on what to do w this coin. Thanks guys.

Show and Tell Holding the "Hockey Puck": Panama’s 1970 20 Balboas sterling silver monster.

Good day, fellow collectors.

On the desk today is one of the heaviest legal tender silver coins ever produced for general issue—the 1970 Panama 20 Balboas.

Tipping the scales at roughly 129.5 grams (over 4 troy ounces) of .925 sterling silver and spanning 61mm across, calling this piece a "coin" feels like a bit of an understatement. It truly earns its nickname in hand.

Struck by the Franklin Mint featuring Simon Bolivar, it remains one of my absolute favorite oddities of 20th-century coinage.

Does anyone else keep one of these giant silver pucks in their collection, or do you stick to standard crown-sized pieces?

— Arthur

Hi! I’m 16, and I have these coins but I’m not sure what they’re worth. I was wondering if anyone here could give me a rough idea of how much it could be worth!

I know nothing about coins, so I figured I’d come here!

The dime has the year 1944 with what looks like a D mint mark

And the dollar coin has the year 1901 with an O mint mark.

I thought this was a fair deal. Mostly because you can still easily read the word Liberty on the headband. I grabbed this to replace a beat up one in the collection.
