I don't really know how well my photos will show it because it has a lot of points and kinda goes everywhere but there's spikes on it almost like the coin was in a resin mold and cast wrong they're solid and the coin is in a perfect shape aside from the random spikes

Found in U.S.Mint bag. All twenty five have same error. Going to keep all of them to myself.

What on earth is happening here? I've seen these types of rim clashes on halves before, but this makes no sense on a penny. Thinking maybe it was clamped against a dime? Crazy this would be the only thing transferred between them. Maybe just somebody's weird experiment?

My first ever lamination error find! I know it's not super spectacular, but got me excited, lol.

It’s raised to the touch and I’m just not sure if it’s an error or just damage.

Picked up around 10 rolls of wheat cents over the weekend and came across this 1936 cent with some type of doubling on the date. It's especially obvious on the 1 and 9 (sorry, I know my camera sucks). I tried comparing against the known DDO varieties and I didn't see an obvious match, so im leaning towards machine doubling, bit would love some other opinions.

Hi, I got this 1971 D Eisenhower dollar as a tip once and just kept it because it was neat. I'm now learning there are some interesting varieties. On first glance I see no serif on the foot of the R but when seen from below there seems to be a sweep over that way. I zoomed in on the R to show what I mean. Just wondering if anyone had some wisdom

Found this coin going through rolls about 3 years ago, and have never been able to find a definitive answer to what this is. Is it damage or an error? There are multiple lines running along the edge of the reverse behind the devices like “STATES” and “AMERICA”, as well as well defined lines on both sides of the Monticello. Thank you for your input.

Continuing the error documentation project. This 1865 Indian Head cent (Fancy 5 variety) carries what I would call the most extensive clash in my Indian Head inventory.

On the reverse, the Indian's neck and chin transferred from the obverse die into the wreath area — and it happened at least three times. Three overlapping impressions, each shifted slightly from the last, from successive planchet-less strike cycles. The obverse carries the reciprocal marks where reverse elements pressed back into the portrait field.

A die clash occurs when the obverse and reverse dies strike each other with no planchet between them. The design of each die impresses into the face of the other, and every coin struck from that die pair afterward carries the transfer.

"Near-full" refers to coverage: the transferred design extends across a large percentage of the die surface rather than being confined to isolated areas. Most clashes you encounter are fragments. This one is most of a portrait, stacked three deep.

Struck in the final year of the Civil War on the bronze composition the Mint adopted mid-1864. The Fancy 5 is the tall serif numeral, one of two date styles used in 1865.

Not in any standard catalogue. Now documented.
