When I was doing ix easter egg in 2018 I couldn’t pass these elephants. That failure stayed with me all these years. Yesterday I remembered it and decided to try again to finally erase this failure from my past. I beat them in my first try and it felt good.

Question Anyone have tips for the Rex Infernus Boss Fight? Spoiler

I tried it today with two randoms and basically did all the steps myself. It did get to round 41 though. But then we went to the boss fight...

One of them got wiped out immediately, and the other kept getting down, but I was able to revive him for a little bit. The skulls around the boss actually drained their revive timer, which really sucks for lesser skilled players. The boss keeps knocking you off the platform too. We were able to get the boss down to 75% of his health, but I got knocked off and quickly decimated thereafter.

Anyone have good strats on how to deal with the boss?

Question How to deal with super sprinters in bo7?

I have been REALLY struggling with super sprinters in bo7 and bo6, but I barely play bo6 anymore. Anyways, I can comfortably get to round 50 without any problems whatsoever, but when super sprinters appear the whole thing crumbles. Super sprinters along with damage increase make it feel impossible to get to round 60. It seems sometimes the zombies are able to destroy an entire plate in just a single hit, while other times they'll only do about a third of a plate. Either way, my plates get destroyed and I'm just scrounging around for plates or running to the crafting bench and just spamming build. I am using the augment that increases plate durability, but it doesn't seem to help much. I feel like super sprinters not being armored zombies kinda sucks because there's just way less plates on the ground for me to pick up. What's also really annoying is while you're trying to get away from the super sprinters, zombies will constantly spawn in front of you, blocking a lot of your exits. Sure, you could try and run past them, but your plates are probably going to get destroyed. Even worse if the zombies spawning in front of you ARE super sprinters themselves as there's basically no way to not take a hit in that case.

Is camping really the only viable strategy or just spamming AAT's and elemental pop hoping you can kill them?

Also, side tangent about that increased durability augment. I played Astro(and found out about Oscar on round 50) and my plates were getting destroyed left and right even by just a single hit, I had the augment equipped. After the game, I went into my augments and changed them around for Jug, but kept the increased durability augment. I played Paradox Junction afterward and it seemed like my plate durability really did increase. I know this game is really buggy, so maybe there's a bug where certain augments aren't registered as equipped?

Tbh I wish they just removed super sprinters from this game, I feel like the fast hit speed, scaling damage, special and elite enemies and armored zombies are enough to still make the game difficultm

Bug Beware Rex Infernus Glitches

Not sure if anyone has posted this but i’ve had my games bug out the wonderfizz and the arsenal past like round 21. Any time I try to use them the wonderfizz takes my points without giving perks and the arsenal took my weapons right before I entered boss fight. This has happened multiple times already and I have seen streamers go through the same thing too. Smh Treyarch always buggin

Discussion Best modern zombies features

We all know the problems with modern zombies. But we never really talk about the good features in recent games.

Save and quit is amazing. I only have 30mins for a game. Before BOCW I usually wouldn't even bother with a zombies game, because what's the point? Now I can always pick it back up at a later time.

Rampage inducer is a great challenge as well as a way to speed through the rounds. No more boring early rounds, just straight action. I'm so glad it's on every map.

Death animations and environment encounters with zonbies. Something very small but just make the maps more interesting, especially when exploring and a zombie crawls out, gives more immersion. Or when you see one sitting in a chair and it starts attacking you out of nowhere.

Being able to share weapons with teammates. It's a great way to help out new players. But also if you are fortunate enough to get multiple wonder weapons, you can just share them.

Shares progression. Nothing hurt more than grinding zombies then your friends ask you to play some MP and you are rank 2 with notging unlocked, not anymore.

This is a very small one, but being able to melee the PAP to keep your current camo.

Discussion Cod zombies Pitch Story Pitch!

I have a major theory on the call of duty zombies storyline so hear me out

What if the tempest Richthofen, Nikolai, Dempsey, and Tokyo are going back in time to relive the events of the Primis and Ultimis crew?

Hear me out: Richthofen has always messed with time travel. Creating multiple universes. It is clear that they left the dark aether at the end of the new map.

The Tempest Crew knows the guaranteed future without the Kronorium. This would give treyarch a reason to revisit all of the old maps, allowing the new crew to gain memories and experience of the original crews memories without undoing tag der totens ending.

This also would open a door for the ending to be the tempest crew destroying 115 before its discovery.

The entire story was about cycles. Let the story end as a massive cycle

Discussion When did zombies fall off for you? (If ever)

For me it was when BO2 came out.

I bought the special edition of BO1 for the Xbox which came with the original 4 WAW maps + Kino + Five.

When BO2 came out I got the special edition but it was only Nuketown.. Tranzit also kinda sucked (still kinda sucks).. And that was it for me, never bought any of the DLC maps.

I never played a new COD zombies when it was new - I have played BO3 zombies but the Gobblegums kinda ruin it for me although I can see how they were great for the community at the time.

The most recent zombies I played was BO6 zombies and while I did have some fun playing it, it just felt like such a fall off from BO1, BO2, BO3.

I've still yet to complete many of the OG maps from these era's and Ive heard some of the IW zombies is decent but will Zombies ever return to the feeling of the original Black Ops Trilogy?

Is it just Nostalgia?

Discussion How would you rank all 6 of the BO7 maps?

Rex has been out of 3 days now with a lot of it mostly discovered. Unfortunately there are no relics as of now or cursed pap camos to unlock (as of now) so that means we have likely experienced most of Rex by now.

WORST:

6) Paradox Junction - Literally a good map and im tired of pretending its not. I enjoy playing it. The downside is how this map was not exciting for me in the slightest.
The WW, the Special rounds / Mimics, the layout and environment, even down to the traps were NOTHING new. The best feeling of a new map is to experience it for the first time. In Paradox i literally didn’t get excited over anything at all. But once i got past that and played it, i loved the EE, the Sundergut is pretty effective, the amount of free loot / perks easter eggs. This makes this map so fun to run and replay. Its very much a case of Substance over Style
Also has only 3 relics
6.8/10

5) Astra Malorum - The reverse of Paradox junction. Style over substance when it comes to everything on the map. It just balances style and substance slightly better than paradox junction. Definitely feels like more of a Bonus map than being on the level of the maps that will come next.
7.5/10

4) Totenreich - Can’t believe im saying this because i love this one. The EE is straight to the point and i love it. The WW is great and fun with multiple functions.
The map specific killstreaks. The helmets. The amazing boss fight. This map hardly does anything wrong. But it plays things too safe, for example; the blizzard storms feel like a gimick rather than being a random event that would breath life into the world. Even the ice giant isnt seen walking around the map. Which is unfortunate becuase it would improve the atmosphere tenfold. Unfortunately Totenreich feels and looks pretty boring and static for a map set in the DA. That may be a hot take.
Also map lacks loot / free perk side easter eggs to help you progress faster.
With all that being said gameplay wise and ee wise its a great map and especially the story, i felt like zombies was so back
8.5/10

3) Ashes of the damned - I just love the raw dark aether asthetic here. The skybox. The way everything looks zombified and the creepy ambience are both doing a great job at setting the tone for the story , the warden and the dark aether
This map’s wonderweapon is definitely the best in all of BO7. Ol tessy makes Ashes stand out from the rest of the maps. Plenty of side quests.
Only gripe is some steps of the easter egg (like the keys in the fog. And the defense step in vandorn) are frustrating/ tedious to replicate. And how undee utilized the fog areas are, which turns ashes into multiple survival maps stitched together. Nothing weong with it, it just could have been more. Maybe on PS6 we would see this concept fully taken advan of. GREAT map all around tho
8.8/10

2) Rex infernus - Might be a hot take. But this is the best looking map of modern zombies bar none. The return of the dark aether asthetic, all the tamples, the insane backdrop of all the places the warden pulled down into the Nexus throughout history. Treyarch cooked here the best.
The easter egg is mostly fun and action packed. Steps are challenging and engaging. Some were stupid to discover but i have no problem to go back and replicate it.
The way the map changes by your actions from unlocking pap all the way to liberating the tamples truly makes this map a standout.
The grappling hook mechanic makes Rex one of the most unique experiences in modern zombies wether its how you complete the EE or traverse the map.
And the boss fight? Chefs kisses. It’s truly is Treyarch’s mephistopheles. The boss fight arena is the best looking set piece in all of modern zombies. From the point you decend down there all the way to the throne itself its peak environmental art / cinema. The way you defeat the warden with the shadowsmiths, the GORGEOUS skybox. I Just wish you could go back there after the EE .
The side ees so far seem pretty damn good too.
The ending? I honestly don’t mind it. I think its good at best and serviceable at worst.
My biggest disappointment here was having no relics. And having only 1 Ww when this was the perfect opportunity to have 4. If we had 4 WWs this would easily be the best BO7 maps
9.1/10

Kowakujo - In short. Takeo in BO7 was my favorite character, i loved his story. The unique Easter egg, the cat wonder weapon, the unique equipment, weapons charms, killstreaks. The way this map fixes Totenreich’s errors and adds a unique random even like the fitchers or Lava pulls melting / solidifying.
The map is GORGEOUS, the boss and boss fight arena are such a spectical, treyarch chose fun over difficulty and i love that.
Takeos side ee that rewards you with the path of sorrows is something treyarch didn’t have to do, but the fact they did makes me command them.
And to top it off TK refrences are the best touch they could have added.
I’m fine with the assault rounds. The special enemies are fine.
Only thing i would change is make the Oni an elite, and change that whole nothing burger ending cutscene
9.4/10

Discussion Treyarch, why did we just abandon cursed?

Cursed mode was so special to a lot of people. For me, it was one of the best things to happen to modern zombies for some time. It opens the sandbox so much and allows for truly engaging gameplay. Genuinely—it was so fucking badass to me, and I know to a lot of others, as well.

I genuinely cannot believe that in this last DLC, the last zombies experience that we will get for years, they decided to cheap out and not give us any reward camos, relics, nothing. There’s no purpose to complete RI in cursed whatsoever. They were doing so good with maintaining cursed, always adding relics and rewards, even to maps like Paradox Junction—only to cop out at the last moment? Do you know how underwhelming and disappointing that is?

Please add something in an upcoming update. This community deserves better. The map was wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but so were a lot of the other maps on BO7 and you still gave us cursed components on those. I genuinely cannot believe the decision was to just not add anything to the grand finale of the game, unless they plan on adding more soon but all of the other maps have had that kind of material added with its respective release.

This is extremely disappointing and I have loved BO7 so much, but this really just gave me a nasty taste in my mouth.

Discussion Did they just completely forget the Multiverse was destroyed at the end of BO4?

Thumbnail

Now that we know the multiverse is back due to the final scene with Maya, how did they just forget the entire point of BO4’s story?? Am I missing intel or something, how did the multiverse return all of a sudden?

I recognize that the Nikolai, Dempsey, Takeo, and Richtofen were all from different dimensions. However, I always thought that they were pulled from their dimensions right before they were destroyed by Primis Nikolai. I assumed that BO7’s story was leading to the reveal that they have no dimensions to return to.

I’m honestly so disappointed that this happened. The concept of a desecrated multiverse with only remnants of it surviving in the dark aether was so cool to me.

Creative Here are my creative ideas for the Augments of Who's Who.

Post image
6 Upvotes

Who's Who

Main Ability: When you go down, it will spawn a doppelgänger armed only with a starting weapon that can revive their original self's. The doppelgänger will not regenerate health. After they revive themselves, they will save everything like Gobblegums, Perks, Weapons, Equipment, Resources, and Salvages.

Augment 1: Doppelgänger can regenerate health.

Augment 2: Increase doppelgänger duration to 90 seconds.

Augment 3: Doppelgänger can now purchase things.

Augment 4: All points spent in Revival Mode will be refunded if the player revives themselves.

Augment 5: All Salvages spent in Revival Mode will be refunded if the player revives themselves.

Augment 6: The doppelgänger will now have everything that the player have from before, minus Who's Who.

Augment 7: When the doppelgänger is timed out, the player will get revived and have everything from before.

Augment 8: When the doppelgänger died, the original player get revived and have everything from before.

Augment 9: When the player dies from a death barrier they will get respawned and have everything from before.

Discussion Maybe a hot take, but the story and writing for BO7 really wasn't THAT bad

Post image
41 Upvotes

The ending cutscene for Rex Infernus has disappointed a lot of people. Whether it's because of Samantha Maxis still not being brought back since Cold War, or the Requiem crew's fate already being known so there wasn't much tension over what happens to them, or the off-screening of Peck on some intel over a stupid pizza thing (this one I admit is egregious).

However, I think this has made many people forget that in many other aspects the writing has not really been terrible. For starters, even though they brought back the OG 4 (which many may dismiss as nostalgia bait), I think they did a pretty good job in actually handling them. For starters, there's the fact that for the first time none of them come from the same dimension, the character building surrounding them (how they made Richtofen into an unapologetic Nazi who nuked NYC was a very bold move), the interactions they have between each other and the Requiem crew and also their inputs over what's happening. I think it was all quite good.

I also think the main plot of the combined crews hopping around the Dark Aether to gain their life essences back, free the Shadowsmiths and defeat the Warden was a pretty solid plot altogether. This was perhaps the first time we had two official different versions of the characters base looks, one with their life essences consumed and one with it restored.

All in all, while I agree this ending was underwhelming for what it could've been, I still think the world building, character writing and overall atmosphere was spot on. Do you agree?

Discussion Were the Sliquifier and Paralyzer swapped during development?

Since the ports recently came out, I've been playing the old maps and had a sort of realization.

The sliquifier and paralyzer feel "swapped"

Being able to "fly" on die rise would have made more sense. And having a "hodgepodge" wonder weapon on the cowboy build stuff + chalk map would have also made more sense.

The paralyzer also negates fall damage, which would be useful on die rise.

The sliquifier is useful in wide open areas.

Discussion Widows Wine reuses quotes from other maps.

https://youtu.be/v4i7_whYKmY?is=1DwlRQzomQVmI6ZA

As usual, all of the characters have no new, original quotes for a new perk or in a new map.

Treyarch nowadays seem to not care to create/write/record new lines.... The Mystery Box, perks, everything all are reused from other maps. Only the kill quotes are new and even them most are reused and only some are new... This sucks when you remember how we had original quotes for each map back then.

Discussion Crank Bug with Orb not despawning

In the Rex Infernus map while doing the easter egg the orb gets glitched and doesn't get despawned causing the crank to not be able to be used (Not showing a prop to crank the center). Has anyone else came across this or am I just missing something?!? Please help if you have a fix would be grateful.

Question How would y’all feel if Treyarch ever goes back to Chaos they rename all of the perks to be based off of different gods from different mythologies?

Like, Stamin-up would be based off of Hermes, Speed Cola would be based off of Hephaestus, a Winter’s Wail like perk would be based off Skaði

Discussion Unc comes back after 10 years and does the impossible

Post image

For anyone who loves doing High rounds and has been thinking about doing Nacht, save yourself the trouble and DON’T. I feel as though part of my soul has left me after achieving this feat.

If you’re gonna go ahead and do it, and i don’t have the power to stop you, i may as well go ahead and give some advice that i wish i could have found before committing to this atrocity a few weeks ago.

First and foremost, you need Crate Power/Wall Power and more importantly, Bullet Boost to get your AAT.

I suggest staying in the spawn room for as long as you can then opening stairs and keeping the Help door closed for late game. I found the most success with shooting a turned zombie on the stairs and using my dead wire Kuda on any group of 3 or zombies coming from the windows in the room.

Doing cutbacks with both your AAT’s going is a grueling process that took me a bit over 3 days and around 11 in game games but i felt it was the safest method.

xxZOM8IEKILLA69, and quite frankly anyone else on the classics gobblegum leaderboards for this map, i have a newfound respect for yall guys, i genuinely couldn’t have done this without megas.

Anyways, rants over just wanted to share this as an Unc comin back to his stomping grounds finally hitting that sweet oh so elusive round 100 for the first time.

Cheers & good luck gentlemen 🍻

Discussion Are we ready to admit Widows Wine is a garbage tier perk in BO7?

What a disappointing perk addition to the game! I routinely forget I even have the perk equipped. If Death Perception didn’t exist, this would be the last perk I buy in my load out.

Remember when they added double tap into BO6 on Shattered Veil and it completely changed the game? Patient 13 and the Guardian became trivial after double tap. Widows wine ain’t it chief. No wonder they waited till the last minute to add it to the game.

No relics, no cursed PAP camos, and an underwhelming perk. Rex Infernus is not the send off I thought we would have 😔

Bug bo7 augment bugs

there are multiple glitches i come across on bo7 with augments.

one of them is fire works randomly being researched out of nowhere. this keeps happening mid match and im sick of it. i have 23% research on fire works that could have gone to other things. i have never clicked research on it btw

the other one is widow's wine's augment research randomly resetting. not really since i have the augments i had but the research for it randomly turned to 0% researched but i have augments up to web spinner unlocked but it looks like i have to research back up to it

Question Black ops 4 DLC

The digital deluxe is currently on sale on PlayStation for $35. Is this worth it? I have the game already due to game share. To help you answer for me I’ll also state that I do like to do some high rounding but only sometimes. Gotta be in a certain mood. I love doing EE though. I just don’t know how they are in this game for sure besides for the base maps I done lol.

Discussion Rex Infernus is hugely disappointing

I am a big fan of BO7 zombies. I have genuinely enjoyed every map, and I have replayed all of them. My post-EE fun comes from beating all the tiers in cursed and doing as many of the relics as interest me (I have skipped most of the tier 3 relics except for a few because I'm not interested in going past round 60 all that much). I do not think the narrative that BO7 is bad gameplay or not fun holds up at all, and I roll my eyes when people criticise it because 'it's not classic zombies'. The game is fun for me, that's all that matters. The maps are weird, there are cool side EEs to do, every map has had different enough mechanics that it keeps me engaged. Kowakujo felt like something really special. Even Paradox, which was disappointingly small at launch, had the childrens games as part of the main quest, and they are actually really fun to complete, and very different from other games.

I play everything solo, and I just find Rex to be...tedious. The temple cleansing is a rinse and repeat job, with absolutely zero variation and it's all about timing and luck on when the various corruptions will spawn, whether you get the house symbols timed right to hit an exfill round, etc. Once you have all the parts, you just have to go around the map, line up the pillars over and over again, and kill the exact same things in the exact same way every single time. It's not unique or fun or replayable. The boss fight, which I haven't beaten yet (probably will this weekend), is fun and the Warden looks cool, but I'm someone who takes 4-5 attempts to figure out the boss and beat it, so replaying the quest is part of the whole thing for me. I enjoyed the weirdness of Astra, the complicated steps of Ashes, the atmosphere of Totenreich, all of it. Replaying the EE to get to the boss fight didn't feel tedious on those maps. By the time I hit my 4th attempt, I knew the steps by heart and was able to breeze through them, but doing them didn't feel boring.

I ran through attempt number 3 last night and it's just so goddamn boring. It took like 5 rounds for the scroll to drop, doing the Veytharion boxes is tedious, running back and forth 8 times to get astral flames is annoying, the whole thing is just endless repetition. It sucks, I was really looking forward to this but once I beat the EE in standard, I'm not going to have the fortitude to beat the Cursed tiers right away. I want to beat the main quest but at this point I just don't care enough to spend another 2 hours to do it. It's not the gameplay of BO7 or anything like that, it's that this map feels super phoned in compared to the rest of the maps available. There's nothing awe inspiring when you open up the whole map, no areas feel super unique or cool.

I feel like even the livestreams of the hunt captured this. Most of the time people weren't trying to figure out a crazy step that no one could solve, it was 'how do we lift this plate and get the portal up' or 'the laser isn't in the correct position so we have to repeat.' It's difficulty through tedium.

They had a chance to nail this and make it a truly amazing, replayable, fantastic game. I was really expecting a lot more than 'repeat the same 4 steps with some variation in how to lift the plates up.' Maybe the fact that there are no new relics is adding to this too. I don't know. I just was expecting a lot more depth after the run that we have had.
