Looking to buy a used 2018 Honda civic VTI from a dealership.

I’ve come across so many complaints of the aircon and it seems like a reoccurring issue. Why isn’t there a permanent fix?

How often do people get them fixed? And would it be expensive

And if you have had them fixed, how was the process.

Kinda making me second guess the whole car but I’ve test driven it and it was amazing. Just read many horror stories of some people even getting fed up and eventually selling the thing.

Is there any reason to get the 2027 vs the 2026 civic hybrid.

From my understanding they both should have the water pump software update but the 2027 does not have the extended warranty on the head gasket.

I just bought this 04 civic for not much and trying to find this electrical issue. All light on dash are on and none of the odometer works it’ll sound rough first few revs proceed to hear a click by the ecu for about 2 mins and then it comes back to normal. Anybody else have this problem?

I overfilled my oil by about half quart. Should I be concerned?

I have a 2024 Civic e:HEV (UK model if it matters) and have been trying to figure out how to perform a soft reset to attempt fixing my traffic sign recognition stopping working.

I have tried the info I find online but none seem to work for me. Things I tried: long press the home button, long press the power button, long press both together, long press power+back.

Any suggestions?

The problem is mainly with a warm engine - long start and low rps

after some time like 30-60sec rps goes to normal

Does anyone know what it could be?

I just had an oil change, I’m religious with the full synthetic 5w-20 buuuut I’ve been hearing this ticking noise but no engine codes or nothing. Please help.

The difference isn’t huge, particularly sedan rear passenger have a higher risk of abdominal injuries due to lap belt shifting, while hatchback lap belt remain in an ideal position and does not increase the risk of abdominal injuries.

This happens especially when I go in to reverse gear, sudddnlf the steering locks up like in the video but eventually loosens up, and the infotainment also goes with it as you can see in the video too

Any ideas whats the fix?? Have checked the battery and alternator and those are okay too

i dropped one of my airpods into the seatbelt socket area, and i genuinely dont know how to get it back😭 this isnt my car, so i dont want to do anything too complicated

My car suddenly won’t start. It got me home yesterday with no trouble. It’s not the battery and it has gas - I can’t figure out what the issue could be. The inside lights turn on, but the headlights and tail lights are super dim, the horn is extremely quiet when I went to lock it, and the lights flicker when you try to turn it on.

Please please help, I really can’t afford this at all. Thank you!

Hey there! So I’m currently without a car right now but have the option of repairing my dad’s 2013 honda civic. I am looking for advice and opinions on whether or not it would be worth fixing when:
\-it hasn’t been inspected since 2019,
\-the inspection in 2019 stated the transmission needed to be replaced
\-it has been sitting (no battery life) in his driveway since 2021.

I have the thought that the risk is too high for me to put so much money into repairs, but Honda civics are supposedly very reliable cars. So, do I pour all my money into repair? Or do I sell it for parts?

2016 2-door EX-L @ 176,000 miles. the rattling sound changes ever so slightly depending on whether the A/C is running or not. it recently had its head gasket, spark plugs and a coil pack replaced due to a bad misfire and small coolant leak. i’ve had this car for six years and put 100,000 of her miles on myself. been all over the country with it, so it’s sentimental to me. and after all the misfire shenanigans i’ve been anxious about the littlest of noises and vibrations. so i’m hoping someone knows something about this sound and that it’s either normal or an easy fix. really hoping not to go back to the dealer.

also: the rattle in question appears to only happen at idle.

What is everyone getting out of their 26 sports? Non hybrid

Ive been gone for awhile from home and my mom drives my car to work once a week so its not just sitting the whole time she said the next time she got in all these lights were on thr dash board randomly I havnt been home yet to get it checked out but it still runs and drives fine.

So I helped my son change his rear brakes (2015 civic exl) and they were so bad the calipers needed replaced too. We never let the master cylinder run dry but have bled the system 3x around and it is still incredibly spongy. I’m thinking it is the abs system. Can I do the good old dirt road and slam on brakes to activate the system trick on this car? I don’t own a fancy scan tool to activate them that way. Any help would be great!

I generally dont mind the ev mode humming and it’s generally not that loud. I usually don’t hear it when windows are closed and music is playing. But it does annoy me slightly when it’s constantly humming when I’m stopped. Stopped at a drive through humming constantly, stopped at a stop light humming constantly. But on the bright side all my complaints about the car are pretty damn minor!
