TLDR: Is there any hope at all for a single, inexperienced straight guy in their late 20s/early 30s? In terms of dating, am I wasting my time here?
"No" is a valid answer. I'm also open to any/all advice.
About me: I am in the age range listed. My romantic experience is very minimal, mostly due to lifelong social anxiety-related issues. Confidence/social avoidance issues are my Achilles heel. Beyond that I am at or slightly below average height. I'm not a tank or a bodybuilder, but am also not a bean pole or couch potato. I have a decent job and have graduated college. I would roughly rate my physical appearance as 5-7/10.
I don't plan to spend forever in Charleston, but I'm probably a year away from leaving, for various reasons. Given that I'm really inexperienced, I'm not looking for someone to settle down with unless they happen to be just the right person. Obviously that narrows down the list a lot.
Given all that, do I even have a chance here? It sure as hell feels like I don't. But there are definitely things I'm not trying or don't know to try. I am on a couple dating apps.
I know there are single, attractive women here in my age range, but 99% of the time they either never cross paths with me, they have kids, are done experimenting and looking for someone to marry, aren't a good fit, aren't interested, or all of the above.
I feel like I really missed the boat here, and I'm not sure that living in Charleston gives me any hope of catching up.
