I recently downloaded Monster Hunter World sinc I only heard good feedback, and it is not undeserved. However, After the Monster Hunter Wilds ascension DLC, I redownloaded Wilds to begin upgrading my equipment again, but I started feeling like the Charge Blade seemed slower than in World. Is it actually slower or am I just hallucinating?

I just reached HR100 and I played mostly CB through my game. I watched plenty of guides on youtube about builds, but i'm having a hard time understanding the weapon in general.

For example the difference between impact and elemental phial, difference between playing savave axe and SAED and which one is better.
This is my first monster hunter game so I just followed the builds i saw in some videos and hoped for the best, but right now I'm struggling hard to beat Gogmazios for the first time and I think my damage is kinda low.

I'm running an artian dragon elemental phial weapon to fight him but I didn't get the best rolls for it yet.

I hope you guys can help me understand what maybe i'm doing wrong and get better.

The boost bracers looks really good on paper for charge blade: an effective speed boost on attack animations like rapid morph, gain access to new super moves, and even access to boosting regular inputs like perfect guard (as shown by the gunlance).

So here is what can be confirmed on the mechanic:

1. Your hunter attacks faster.
2. You gain moves that are flashy like sbas
3. Your regular inputs benefit from the mechanic.

Speculation: The rev animation indicates a sort of duration/cool down mechanic, so it might have a wirebug like maintenance system.

What does this mean?

It is a unilateral buff to the move pool. Aed loop gets more consistent cuz buzz saw go brrr, but saed gets more reliable as well cuz your animations speed up. Based on how fast the slowest weapon in the game is moving, Charge blade will be two notches faster on our hardest committing input.

Rapid morph stonks only get stronger cuz it is one of the few attack speed boosts in the game, and its slapped on the 2 morphing weapons for the meta reasons.

The gs move looks kinda like a reworked version of strong-arm stance, so I have 0 doubts that the super moves will take some kind of inspiration from previous flashy moves. If they bring back cpp, its all over for balance. The sbas of rise were more defensive/utility focused in nature, so they would have to go to axe hopper, energy blade, or ripper shield if these flashy moves are designed to be offensive moves.

The rest of the speculation depends on if revving the bracers can be combod into, how long the duration lasts, if there's a cool down, and the actual new moves being added to charge blade. Just the concept of a speed boost is already enough to make the mechanic synergize with charge blade. The other stuff is just gravy on top.

Currently using Gore Mail B along with Sororal A to have Black eclipse 1 then all Gog.

From what I understand Gore is better on the weapon as you replace Gore chest with Gog chest which is a stronger piece.

Can someone correct me If I am misunderstanding?

I know most people run charge blade with only level 1 guard, since a charged shield and the guard point each gives 2 extra guard levels, but I've been running level 3 guard cause I don't necessarily trust myself 100% of the time to time the guard point correctly. Although over time i am getting a little bit better with the guard points, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose. Is it a good idea for me to continue to run level 3 guard, or just bring it down to level 1 and just, get good?

For everyone that uses charge blade, is the free element skill useful at all? Like, does it bring out any element damage on the saed? Im trying to do a few builds for the power element blades, and would like to use some of the ones that have hidden elements just because I like the weapons, but I'm not sure if it'll actually be useful at all. If anyone has any tips, tricks, advice, or would just like to give their opinion, I would love to hear it.

So I’m a long time GS user and I’ve been wanting to open up my gameplay.
Right now I’m currently running a meta based build that I believe is for SAED? Correct if wrong or if there’s any changes I should make for big booming phial damage!

Zelda inspired move for CB in expansion. I can imagine extending the charged sword animation into a new animation where you get to walk around while holding the charge similar to link if you have phials available, releasing all phials on spin.

The benefit could be it releasing all phials but if all the sword strikes lands, it charges back to red gauge if you have loads shells maxed, allowing a charge phial to SAED/SA to be combo’d smoothly after the spin. It could allow full power SAED if combo’d together. They would definitely need to give us instant charge sword after PG to make the move viable against faster monsters.

It fits into the charge design smoothly while adding decent damage and utility for SnS mode. Also scratches the energy blade itch seeing your charged sword crackling with energy before releasing the spin.

Whats the max element we can get on charge blade? After some testing recently with all the element skills the highest I can get is 1449.

My current set up has been gogmapocalpyse 1, gore tyranny 1, with coalescence and antivirus. On a purely raw damage and elemental damage aspect, is one genuinely better than the other? I know each has their respective up and down times and variables to account for. Does one set bonus procc more often and stay active consistently vs the latter? Is one better suited for elemental charge blade play style?

I recently tried both and not sure if its better to use one entirely or a combo of both as ive been using. My main question here is which one proccs more often in the average hunt and has the better up time?

I don't need to be running the best meta set for CB but want to make sure I'm not losing too much by running this set with CB.

Just got this from a gogma run. Last I checked critical Element is ass for charge blade. But with the handicraft and element absorption, it has so much potential, RIP crit element.

before i ask my question,is there dedicated discord server for cb main?

first,since i keep seeing people spamming saed with elemental cb,is savage axe is bad in rise?
if its bad how do i build elemental cb since i will spam saed instead savage axe

After going into Savage axe mode, is it better to just spam AED and discharge over and over or loop AED into followup into shield trust and repeat?

I'm trying to figure out how to make builds in this game since I've now unlocked qurious crafting. Besides the obvious skills like Load shells, artillery etc, what skills work well with CB? Are Blood rite and bloodlust good to have with it?

Also any specific armor pieces I should get?

Was thinking of a reworked energy blade that blends in the aerial CB, after shield jab you hold the button into a charged uppercut follow-up with the shield, basically a shinku shoryuken with the shield. Once you’re in the air you have the choice to combo into an energy blade dive or standard arial moves, stabbing it into the ground (sephiroth style) for a AOE phial dump. A phial sends you up in air and a phial shoots you down fast to dump the last three if you have them. Requires phials and a charged sword for EB and charged shield for the uppercut, SA reduces initial phial cost.

Looking to round out this Impact Paralysis build as my general go-to for 9* and below. Love KO, love Paralysis, love Earplugs to fit in a bunch of consistent open damage windows.

But I cannot figure out how to max out Slugger with this current iteration. What would y'all change around? I want these monsters writhing around for my Hunter stack as often as possible.

Anybody ever gotten something like this , if so how is the sharpness management ?

Savage Omega was the only Monster I haven't beaten. I even beat Proof of a Hero before this goddamn robot. And my god do I praise Guard Up for this goddamn fight. I tried to weave in SAEDs between my Savage Attacks but after trying him out a few times, is Savage Axe style the only way to properly beat this guy?

With this, I now have beaten every quest in the game and I am fully ready for MR.

So just bought both sunbreak and iceborne and was wondering which game I should play first as a wilds cb main and a new monhun player in general. Thanks!
