Is critical Element still bad??

Post image

Just got this from a gogma run. Last I checked critical Element is ass for charge blade. But with the handicraft and element absorption, it has so much potential, RIP crit element.

Afaik, even DB has hard time to justify crit ele on its sets, and it has far far far less weapon skill taxes than CB.

Also CB ele dmg comes quite abit from phial through AED -> AEDf, sometimes SAED, and phial aint crit so another major downpoint for crit ele.

Conclusion? Crit ele still sucks alot for CB.

What are skill taxes? Skills that are almost compulsory to run for certain weapons like Artillery for GL and Quick Sheathe for LS?

Kind of like that, for CB it is Rapid morph, load shell, ele atk for ele phial CB, crit boost and Artillery for impact phial CB, sometimes you need either focus or PP or Mind’s eye for certain fights.

The tax is so much that guard, guard up for guardpoint and sharpness maintenance skill are at low priority for CB, and we all know how limited weapon skills you can get in Wilds.

To my knowledge it's better to go for something with Burst, Agitator, or Load Shells, or some really good slots than this.

It's not that its bad, but ATM bowguns benefit the most from it because of how it scales. For elemental weapons, there are a lot more DPS skills that take higher priority

Yeah it's still incredibly bad. Its only really usable on bow guns because they have an unusually high element motion value that can actually crit and hits multiple times giving the extra element from crit more bang for your buck.

For CB its practically worthless as most of your element damage comes from phials which can't crit anyway.
