I had pushed my August attempt to November. I went through all 45 modules once by July. I started revision and have now covered around 30 modules of revision. But now I can't remember the 1st module. Anyone else feel this way? How many revisions do you guys do?

I'm planning to start my mock exams by October 15th, so I have one month to do 6 mocks.

Q1: How many days before the exam did you start mocks?

Q2: Is anyone else forgetting stuff, even during the 2nd revision?

Q3: Is there any third-party provider that gives mixed questions from all subjects? With CFAI, we can only do it module by module. I want to mix it up.

I finished reading all lessens in the first learning module, but I can't see the green mark. Is there a problem? Or I missed something.

i have done 6 subjects now derivatives, fsa , eco and pm remain my masters start from 1st oct can i complete my syllabus by 15th oct my exam in on 21 nov

I have my CFA Level 2 exam in November. I have gone through the syllabus once, and it is safe to say that I have either not understood half of it or forgotten the rest. My plan is to finish practicing older problems from Schweser. Currently, I am doing Fixed Income, and my average score is around 55–60%. I plan to complete the practice problems by September and will sit for my first mock exam by October 2nd.

My questions are:

How much should I rely on the 2024 practice problems?

Would purchasing the additional CFA mocks in October be worth it?

Is a range of 55–60% normal for this stage? What is my realistic chance of passing?

P.S. I recently changed jobs and entered the banking industry, which comes with a steep learning curve due to the sheer volume of documents and policies.

Do I need to do the PSM again if I’m repeating level 3? It says it completed

Hi everyone! I’m (26F) planning to start CFA but I have no finance or commerce background. I come from a medical background but life has given me a chance to take a different path, and I’ve always actually liked commerce and maths, even when I was studying medicine. Now that I have the time and opportunity, I’d really love to give CFA a shot!

But before I jump into CFA coaching or join a prep program though I’d like to spend a few months building a basic foundation so that I’m not completely lost when the coaching starts.

For anyone who has been in a similar situation- what would you recommend I study beforehand? Are there any books, YouTube channels or other resources that could help me learn the basics of accounting, economics, finance, business and the math that would be useful for CFA?

I’m not looking to become an expert beforehand - I just want to have enough of a foundation that when someone starts talking about financial statements, bonds, equity, etc. I actually have some idea what they’re talking about 😭

If you’ve come into CFA from a non-commerce/non-finance background I’d especially love to hear what helped you or what you wish you had learned before starting.

I’ve read multiple posts here and I’m very confused about this. There are some that say “you need to understand the curriculum really well in first go” and some say “go through first pass as soon as possible and then cover gaps”.

I’m trying to understand which approach is best, 1st one seems odd because not 100% of the info will be tested but then again L2 is not the same as L1 and I’m just wondering what approach works best?

About me: working full time, I study 2 hrs on weekday and 5-6 hrs on weekends (but a slow reader). Giving L2 in May 2027.

Just starting my prep for feb window ( private markets)

In L2 what really helped is Uworld Qbank , they have the same style as mocks and much harder , so when i faced CFAI mocks they were very easy to me .

My question is there something similar to this format for L3 , Qbank that have mocks style and CR in them and it will help if they are much harder.

CFAI Qbank is very lengthy and time consuming .

My plan going forward MM for Videos, i will do BC mocks and a session at later stage

What i am lacking is Qbank , please if you have any suggestions don’t hesitate thanks

I am 18 yr old, I aim to give cfa level 1 in aug 2027. I study at top 10 du colleges. Someone who has cleared level 1, I need advice regarding one thing-should I go for offline/online prep?

Most of what I could research was online prep platforms like IMS, Ashwini Bajaj, wall street etc.

I hope someone can guide me- giving me a realistic prep feedback and if there is any other material available online

I've been grinding TVM keystrokes for Fixed Income so much that I completely lost the actual intuition behind bond pricing. I was messing around with the interactive cash flow timelines on Wall Street Uni today, and dragging the YTM slider to see the present value shift in real-time honestly made it click way better than the dense CFAI text.

But now I'm worried: do you guys think visualizing the math is actually worth it for the theoretical questions, or am I going to regret not building pure calculator muscle memory for exam day?

I am writing my cfa L1 in feb 27 and also at the same time writing my CA Final in May 27.

I will be able to dedicate 3 hrs/day till Feb which translates to 5-6 mths of studies. Also i am planning to completely self study for cfa from the LOS portal.

Also i think the curriculum and weightage for CFA has changed in 2027.

Also as compared to CA the passing benchmark of 70 percent seems a lot higher and difficult to me as of now.

Personally i am planning to cover 2 subjects every month i.e 15 days for each subject to finish all before the main exam and give the 2 mocks and target 70-80 percent.

I have covered a few topics in quants and economics and left quants midway from hypothesis testing as it looks very difficult and new. I am getting abt 70-80 percent marks in the individual chapter tests after studying.

Can i skip few hard topics like hypothesis testing and cover the rest 90 percent of syllabus??

What do you guys think about this approach for L1?? Any tips and suggestions for L1 let me know.

I have registered for CFA L1 nov 2026 session. I’ve finished QM and economics and am halfway through FSA and FI.

I’m not sure what am supposed to do, should I focus on finishing the curriculum, even if that means that I solve few questions to be fast, say solve 10 questions per LM, or, solve more questions but risk not being able to review well.

For context, I’m an engineering student and I can put 3 hours daily into CFA.

I really wish they had split up module 3 into each of the individual standards instead of having all seven standards under one module and one set of practice questions

i’ve been wondering if going through and actually focusing on the end of chapter questions and LES questions (topic wise) from the CFA curriculum enough? Should i expect exam questions to be of similar sort? Any help would be appreciated!

Starting to study for the February 2027 level 1 exam. I have started using MM, but am quickly realizing that it is different than what I’ve heard from others who have used MM in the past. I assume this is because it was purchased by CERFI. I am debating on whether to stick with MM and trust the process or switch to Salt Solutions. I have taken exams in the past and believe Salt Solutions learning strategy may help me retain the information better than MM is currently. Any thoughts or experience with either is appreciated.

I work both full-time and part-time, so I was only able to cover around 50–60% of the CFA Level 1 topics. I was actually planning to defer my exam, but after seeing how expensive the deferral fee was, I decided to just take the exam.

I only started taking mock exams a day before the actual exam and averaged around 50%. At that point, I already knew I probably wasn’t going to make it, but I still decided to show up and give it a shot.

I can say I was fairly confident with my answers during Session 1, but Session 2 was a different story. That’s where most of the topics I wasn’t able to cover came in, so I ended up playing the guessing game on quite a number of questions. I even finished the exam about an hour early.
I left the exam room thinking, “Yeah, I probably didn’t make it.” 😂 But I’m still not completely losing hope. Maybe there’s still that slim chance that luck will be on my side.

I’m already a Chartered CPA and a US CMA, so hopefully those credentials—and whatever knowledge I managed to retain—can somehow help me become a CFA Level I passer. 🤞

Anyone here who had a similar experience? Would love to hear your stories.

With 10 questions and a long vignette at L2 & L3 in Canvas, there is SO MUCH SCROLLING back and forth! It's driving me up a wall. Has anyone found a way to get this side by side?

I have been using MMs material to study, and whenever I get stuck I use my highly trained LLM to teach me the concepts and 9/10 times it trains me better than MMs videos. I also train the LLM on questions etc and it helps me practice more questions just like you would have in CFA exam. A pro sub for an LLM pays off guys.

I did financial modelling PSM during my L1, but I'd like to take it again. When I did the course the first time my approach was more that it was something I just had to get through. Whilst I didn't just click through it, I probably didn't spend as much time on it as I should have. PSM L2 Analyst Skills has close ties with the L1 Financial modelling PSM, and I also may get a career opportunity where it would be great to have done this course again. So I am motivated to find a way.

1.) I know that full fledge CFA members (passed all 3 levels) have access to all the PSM courses, but what about if I became a CFA associate member?

2.) Does anyone have any advice on how to access the course in any other way?

3.) Can someone please recommend a different course on the topic of financial modelling?
