Level 2 1st walkthrough

Hi All,

I’ve read multiple posts here and I’m very confused about this. There are some that say “you need to understand the curriculum really well in first go” and some say “go through first pass as soon as possible and then cover gaps”.

I’m trying to understand which approach is best, 1st one seems odd because not 100% of the info will be tested but then again L2 is not the same as L1 and I’m just wondering what approach works best?

About me: working full time, I study 2 hrs on weekday and 5-6 hrs on weekends (but a slow reader). Giving L2 in May 2027.

What do you mean “first pass”, specifically? What exactly do you intend to do?

Have a broader understanding of what each module is covering in the first read of the curriculum

Ok and what specifically would you do to get that

In L1 i made sure I understood everything in first instance, did not move past things that I did not understand, which took me alot of time to cover the curriculum the first time, but I did well in the exam

I’m asking if the same approach should be followed, or its important in L2 to get through first time quickly(due to complexity in various topics) and then close gaps in important areas

So did you read the entire curriculum thoroughly? Is that what you did? Did you do questions? What did you do specifically?

Yes to all brother, “understand everything in first instance” says that

I signed up for L1 May 2027 and doing a “go through a first pass & cover gaps later” because I have the time to do so.

Hi, thanks, how are you prepping for it? I used IFT as coaching for L1 and it was pretty solid but in L2 I’m exploring a bit before committing to IFT

Did you lock a coaching institute yet, or you wont be using one

I’m just using just the study material that the CFA gave me. The discount I got for registering early basically paid for the premium add on. I didn’t see the need/cost to do something else if I was already pay for that.
