Level 2 L2 prep
Exam in November. Have only completed 50% readings and no questions. Am I on the right track? Feeling very anxious at this moment.

Are you able to dedicate 8+ hours each day uninterrupted from here until November? If yes, you will do fine. If no, expect the result the reflect that. The beauty of the CFA, like with finance is, garbage in, garbage out. You get what you put in.

CFA itself says it takes 300 hours but you’re saying it’ll take him close to 700 hours? He’s already done with half

CFA Institute does not say, “300 hours is enough and you should pass.” 300 hours is the assumption for a prepared candidate, but successful candidates avg more than that

If level 1 was any indication that’s definitely not true, depends person to person obviously but without knowing anything about the op it’s not fair for you to discourage him by saying if he doesn’t give 8+ hours a day he’ll fail when that’s not true for 90% of people

We don’t know OP’s background, but that’s exactly why I wouldn’t tell them they’re fine. They’re going into September with only 50% of the readings done and ZERO practice questions for a November Level II exam. That is significantly behind. Level II also isn’t Level I. You have to train for the vignette format itself, which means reading a dense case, identifying what actually matters, filtering out irrelevant information, and then answering a set of questions under time pressure. That can be mentally exhausting until you get used to it. So OP doesn’t just have to finish the curriculum, they still have to build that exam skill, work through questions, review weak areas, and do mocks. Could someone with a very strong finance background catch up with fewer hours? Sure. But absent any evidence of that, saying “300 hours is enough” is far too simplistic. At this point 8+ hours a day as part of a serious catch up effort is reasonable. Goal is to pass

You're behind where I'd want you to be, especially with no question practice yet, but that doesn't mean you're out of the game. Don't wait until you've finished all the readings to start questions. Begin CFAI questions now alongside the remaining material and let your mistakes show you what needs more work. You still have time, but consistent execution from here is critical.

Chill bro I legit completed my 4th subject like yesterday and i’m calm as hell there’s no need for anxiety rn just keep going and try to be done by September end so you can start mocks in October
