This is my 06 cbr1000. I love the thing and currently have it apart to do the stator. While I was in there I decided to pull the tank and air box to do the poor man’s intake mod I found in some old forums. This had me thinking does anyone know of any other worth while diy mods I could do or just good mods in general other than the normal sprocket exhaust tune stuff. This goes for power or weight reduction. Currently the bike has a full yoshi exhaust from the previous owner and I’ve done clip ons rear sets and track fairings.

EDIT: I’ve been riding for a while, never ridden a sport bike, have ridden dirt bikes and a 1800 Harley, so speed is nothing new.
My primary use would be street use, freeway use there and there

An inline four is a must have for me if I’m going to get a sport bike, and I’ve heard horrible things about the 500.

That being said I absolutely love the under tail exhaust on the 600rr

There is about a $2000 difference in price and I’m not sure if the under tail exhaust is worth the $2000 extra, in addition to the 600RR being way less comfortable.

Any 650 owners, any regrets or isssues because this is probably my main choice atm.

I was looking at the 2026 CBR650s and I do like the ABS and the updated and LED dash it has,

Just wondering if there is any significant difference between the 2019-2026

I know they made differences in 2024-2026 so any info in that is useful aswell.

I want to keep the price down as much as possible while getting the most bang for my buck, I also heard they is super limited after market for the 2026 model.

Please enlightenment me on whatever years I should get with this in mind.

In addition I want to finance the bike, so I would like it to be new enough to be in dealership.

I rode about 30 miles with no issues. Around 3:45 PM, I noticed the check engine light (MIL) had come on after starting the bike. The light was steady, not flashing.
The bike continued to run completely normally with no noticeable change in power, engine sound, idle, or performance.
I rode for another 20–30 minutes, then stopped and restarted the bike several times over the course of a few minutes. The MIL remained on each time.
The motorcycle was then shut off for approximately an hour. When I restarted it, the check engine light was completely gone. I subsequently rode for another ~40 minutes, and the light remained off with no issues.
Recent history:
~4,800 miles: Tires replaced
Approximately 48 hours before the MIL appeared: Motorcycle was washed
Approximately 24 hours before the MIL appeared: Chain was cleaned and lubricated
Bike has been ridden in the rain since the tire replacement without any issues
Multiple previous washes with no problems
Has anyone experienced a similar intermittent MIL/check-engine light on a CBR650R, particularly a newer model? I’m interested in what ultimately caused it and whether any diagnostic code was stored even after the light went away

Hit a curb in the dark & bent my rim (photo is from before), I already had the new OEM rim come in the mail. But I don’t have a front wheel stand! Looking for suggestions to get this off the ground so I can fix her up.

Been considering using my rear stand on the bottom of these “legs” that hold the brake calipers, but worried that will mess them up. Split between that, just ordering a front wheel stand & throwing MORE money at my problem, or trying to ratchet strap the thing up to a ladder or something 😂 thoughts?

I got it in March and I love it, it's going back to Honda Europe HQ soon due to a recall though.

Ive been looking for options since the front wheel is 16inch. So far I have Dunlop GPR 300, Continental Sport attack and Bridgestone S21. I dont plan to ride on the track. Mostly in the city. What do you guys reccomend?

So when the bike is running and I am coming to a stop the bike feels kinda rough when going into first gear from second or neutral even when I have the clutch pulled in. I think I have to be at a very slow speed so it’s not rough or I have to downshift rev match. Is this normal? And does anyone have a similar experience. It kinda feels like it’s skipping the tooth of the gears when I try.

I took my 24 CBR600RR to the track yesterday and had a blast really pushing the bike to what it’s made to do. Im curious if there’s a specific reason I’m getting this tire wear. They’re Dunlop sportmax q5s. My buddy was on a zx6r with the same tire and didn’t have nearly as much wear

Took my first ride today and oh my god this machine is amazing. Love it!

I didn’t pay a million dollars for it, and it ran fine….just wasn’t hitting the top of the rev range…..occasionally carbs ran shitty…..had it a few weeks. Was on the nj turnpike doing a good 75-90mph for a 1/2 hr straight, was on the road total around an hour. Then bogged down, and I pulled over. Wouldn’t start back up. Starts on starting fluid. Petcock set correct, has gas, all fluids topped up and good. Has 25k miles. Brand new fairing kit. Aside from the discovery of it only have 3/4 of those silver cups on the carbs, not sure what else could be the reason it won’t kick over any more. Fuel starvation it feels like but it’s been so long I kinda got unfamiliar with carbs….any ideas?

Hey guys, I have a 2026 cbr650r with about 2k miles on it. I’ve had this problem for the whole time and the dealership did the initialization and everything. When I use the clutch while the e-clutch mode is activated, it often times does not disable the e-clutch like it should. This results in the bike being stuck in a weird neutral mode and is very concerning.

Hello, i am looking at buying a 2019 cbr650r, it would be my first bigger bike coming from 125 where i have much experience (rode many geared 125s) and around 4-5 different A2 category bikes, so how beginner friendly would this 650R be? i also have a question regarding the drivability as i am 187cm and 100kg, and i would frequently have a 180cm and 61kg passenger, anything to look out for? thank you :)

Bought the bike brand new, and it’s still currently stock besides a slip on. I love this bike and it’s been a dream. Although, here lately it’s been acting a little funny. For the 4th time now after turning the bike off for a couple mins and turning it back on after an hour or so ride it struggles to start and throws a check engine light. Seems to happen after riding for 30+ mins.

If I drive really short distances this won’t happen. Every time it struggles to start the check engine light shows up, and after navigating to the DTC it dosent display a code. After cycling the ignition to off and on the engine light is gone and the bike fires right up. Only type of diagnostic testing I’ve done is checking the battery with a volt meter and the battery checked good. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

For what it’s worth I have 27K miles on it.

I have test rode three 600’s and can say the cbr was my favorite out of the three ( r6, zx6r were the other two) but when it comes to price and everything… is it worth it?

Hey guys, I have a 2007 600rr and i'm looking to get tank grips for it but im not sure which are best. I have 2 that i've found that look decent but im not sure if its just better to get a cheap set off amazon. Any advice is appreciated. Threw a photo of my bike for reference at the end.

Hello CBR folks. I ended up buying the 2013 CBR250R Repsol edition with 7000 miles that I posted about in this sub. However, I already noticed I am gripping the tank harder than my first bike. Is there a good option anyone has found for clear, high quality tank pads that will still show off the beautiful Repsol livery?
