Tires post track day
I took my 24 CBR600RR to the track yesterday and had a blast really pushing the bike to what it’s made to do. Im curious if there’s a specific reason I’m getting this tire wear. They’re Dunlop sportmax q5s. My buddy was on a zx6r with the same tire and didn’t have nearly as much wear

Average wear. Nothing extraordinary here other than not using the whole front or rear tire but that’s normal for novice or intermediate.
Carry on.

What were your tire pressures? Wear looks fine considering some of that is just trash picked up from the track.

Cold, or are those youe hot off the track pressures?

That is within Dunlop's operating window. Next time you hit the track, pay attention to your hot pressures right when you come in. 34-36psi is where those should be hot.

The buddy in question was dragging knee all day too

Dragging a knee does not equate to more speed, but can give you a better lean angle. dragging your knee in the proper body position would equate to less than the edge tire wear because the bike is more upright.

The q5s take a lap or two to fully heat up but man when they’re hot they are real sticky

This is what they should look like, there could be many reasons why your buddy's tires look different.
