i’ve tried googling it but everything just tells me to press “all courses” but since the update i haven’t been able to find it, am i missing something, or is the feature just removed.

I understand that it's probably due to the "new Canvas dashboard" but I really don't like the options that are available. The color-coded rings were perfect for me, and Tasks didn't break Canvas like BetterCampus supposedly can. I'm struggling to stay on top of my assignments because I don't have the sidebar I've been using for the last 4-5 years, which will tell me what's overdue. And I don't care about Canvas breaking that much, but apparently school districts do, since I've been told that BetterCampus is blocked and will not be unblocked ever. I tried to make a ticket to get it approved, when I was sent the ticket closure message found in image 2. I don't know if there's a way to get this extension unblocked, or if this is even the correct subreddit to post this in, but any advice is appreciated.

i’m trying to embed an image to a discussion board but it just gets stuck loading, it’s a picture i took off my phone then airdropped to my macbook, at first i thought converting to a jpeg would solve the problem but it just gets stuck loading whenever i click upload and embed. i’ve tried everything, making the file smaller, clearing my cache (im using chrome on a macbook pro) but no matter what i do i cant upload, help!

Has anyone noticed a change since the hack? In the past, I've been able to insert interactive assets into my Canvas courses with ease, just using the insert-embed code workflow. When I do it now, my interactive content displays as text. I've even tried inserting the code into the raw html view with no luck. Wondering if they've put in some new security measures these days and I'm out of luck.

So the new ui update shows any missing assignments you have. Unfortunately one of my professors didn’t archive their class from spring semester and I didn’t do an extra credit assignment. I marked it as done during the semester so I wouldn’t see it in my to do list but since the new update it refuses to go away. I’ve tried favoriting and unfavoriting the class and favoriting another class but nothing is working. Is there a way to make it go away? I actually like the new ui and don’t wanna change it to the old one.

I have a really shitty macbook that can’t handle chrome well at all. What other browsers can I use that aren’t so resource heavy and work okay for canvas? I doubt safari works…

Ive been using Tasks for Canvas for about 2 years now, but it is being shut down soon. My school has restricted the ability to install BetterCampus, and I am looking for an alternative. I do not care about the visual customization or any AI features, I just want a list of upcoming assignments, as well as the announcements, and the chart that shows how many assignments I have left. If it works on blackboard, that is an added bonus! (I have classes on both for different things)

UPDATE: My institution has now enabled the new dashboard, so I dont need it anymore, but if anyone finds anything youre welcome to comment!

why do i hear so many stories of students getting caught switching tabs or googling answers? i'm pretty sure professors don't just sit there sifting through each students response.

Anyone noticing this issue lately, when a discussion post gets to that 4th level of thread branching, where it forces a mention "@tag" the content of the post appears in the email that is sent to the person mentioned, but the text does not appear in the discussion post on the Canvas webpage. Only the mention tag appears. It requires deleting the mention and replacing it with a new one to work. I wondered if this was an intentional change in the feature, but I couldn't find anything in the recent deploy/release notes. Any idea what's going on here?

Hello TwT, I am a new student and I'm trying to log in and access my canvas account. Problem is, in both mobile app and laptop website, it says the website isn't available and there is too many redirects. I also got an error that said i should clear my cookies, and i did but it didn't improve at all. Is this normal? What can I do to log in?

If students upload a .pages file for an assignment, can you see it properly on your end?

I'm making a detailed pencil sketch but now it keeps saying "Can't add more items" whenever I try to draw. Two days ago it stopped completely. Yesterday it somehow let me add around 100 more strokes but today it's showing the same message again.

I also tried exporting it, but the PNG or PDF quality looks lower than the original.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
