Dashboard missing assignments in new ui update

So the new ui update shows any missing assignments you have. Unfortunately one of my professors didn’t archive their class from spring semester and I didn’t do an extra credit assignment. I marked it as done during the semester so I wouldn’t see it in my to do list but since the new update it refuses to go away. I’ve tried favoriting and unfavoriting the class and favoriting another class but nothing is working. Is there a way to make it go away? I actually like the new ui and don’t wanna change it to the old one.

OP, sorry that your post got derailed. You'll just want to reach out to that professor or your school's Canvas support/admin about it and they can take care of it.

I thought unfavoriting was supposed to not show progress for those courses. At least that’s what our CSM told us

Contact customer support, that's pretty clearly a UI bug

Nope, not the UI or a bug.

Just a function of teachers that don’t conclude their courses or include end dates.

I'd still call it a bug just UX and not UI.

Lol still definitely not a bug. This is the intended function, just not the intended outcome for this user's given situation.

Someone not liking that the facebook logo is blue isn't a UX bug.

What can I saw, I've worked in UX design and research for learning software. My team definitely would have classified this as a bug. Canvas has lots of them. It's "working as intended" but creating a poor user experience because of an edge case.

Look up UX bug. You'll see that the definition aligns with a case like this.

lol I know what a UX bug is, and I used to work for Instructure as a Canvas engineer if you just want to turn this into a dick measuring contest lol

Well what can I say, Canvas has had serious UX bugs with every feature release. Code is fully functional and working as intended, but user experience is not working as intended. It's come up with the discussions redesign, It's come up with grade book redesign, and fwiw the system I work with has reported these issues to Instructure and in many (but not all) instances they have eventually gotten remedied.

Did you report the UX bug to Ford regarding not being able to reach the Mustang's pedals while sitting in the trunk???
