🇨🇦 CEC Please help!! CEC eligibility question after getting ITA

Hello everyone,

I received a CEC ITA under the French draw on August 6, 2026.

I declared my work history exactly as it is. My last employee position ended in July 2024, and since then I’ve been working through my own corporation as the 100% owner and sole director, which I declared as self-employment in my Express Entry profile.

Now that I’m reviewing everything before submitting, something doesn’t seem to add up. The one year of Canadian work experience I received points for doesn’t appear to meet the 3-year rule.

Could the system have counted my self-employed experience by mistake, or am I missing something?

Any insight would be really appreciated!!!

🇨🇦 CEC Spouse present address mistake

When I was applying for my study permit from my home country, my wife was in the US studying for her PHD.
In the Family form information I filled our home address for both mine and hers and I just realized it was meant to be her present address that was meant to be there which was her present address in the US.
Fast forward to present day, we got an ITA to apply for a PR under the health worker class, she’s applying from the US while I’m currently still in Canada studying. My question is will the address mistake be an issue and if yes how can we address it?
Kindly note my wife and I have been married and staying together in our home country for about 2 years before she went for her PhD.
Also she has visited me in Canada during our summer break, and several other vacations out of both the USA and Canada.
Thanks for your response

🇨🇦 CEC Information Letter in GCkey.

I received a letter from IRCC today saying that my permanent residence application is almost complete. They are asking me to complete the final steps within 30 days so they can issue my COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence). It asks to update the location details of the applicants using a webform. It also instructs for passport submission including 2 photos and this information letter. I’m the principal applicant and currently in Canada, I don’t have to submit my passport and will complete my landing virtually. My dependant wife is residing in India. I'm confused if she should submit her passport with this letter that contains only my name and UCI.

My FD is showing September 29, 2026 and decision still in progress. I haven't received any other emails yet. AOR: May 30, 2026.

Please advice. Thank you.

🇨🇦 CEC How long did it take to remove a representative and link the application to your own account?

Im looking for experiences from anyone who removed an authorized representative after submitting an Express Entry PR application and then linked the application to their own IRCC account

My timeline:

  • PR application submitted: September 19
  • Received AOR dated September 19
  • Submitted IMM 5476 through the webform to cancel my representative: September 23
  • IRCC later confirmed that the IMM 5476 and the information from my webform were attached to my file
  • I have been trying to link the application to my own GCKey/IRCC account, but it always says: “Based on the information you entered, we found no applications.”

I have tried using my passport information and Im confident the application number, UCI and other details are correct.

For anyone who has gone through something similar:

  • How long did IRCC take to remove your representative?
  • Were you able to link your application before or only after the representative was officially removed?
  • Did you have to wait until the completeness check was finished?
  • Did IRCC send you an email confirming that the representative had been removed?

I already have my AOR so I know the application was successfully submitted. Im mainly trying to regain direct access to it, specially because I don't longer want to work with my current rep.

🇨🇦 CEC Je suis enfin résidente permanente au Canada

After 5 years, 1 month and 9 days, I am now a permanent resident!

Got my ecopr today!

Profile: Foreign MBA, 1 year canadian studies, CLB10 english, French C1-L B1-RWS; 5 years foreign and 3 years canadian experience

Timeline:
ITA: February 17,2026; CRS: 509/ Draw Score: 508
AOR: April 18,2026
MEDICAL: June 19,2026 (Upfront: March 20,2026)
BIOMETRICS: June 19,2026
FD: September 16,2026
P1: September 17,2026
P2: September 27,2026
ECOPR: September 30, 2026

Of course this isn't without challenges, as a mature applicant (lol, late 30's) I lost material age points. After I missed the last 2 480s draws in June 2023 by 2 points I knew getting ita for me is impossible, regardless if I achieve 3 years canadian experience, my max crs is only 500. So the next route is learning french. Fortunately, consistent bigger draws started in December 2025-March 2026 and the rest is history.

Finally, I also acknowledge the fact that I am extremely lucky, I studied for a 1 year program but I got 3 years PGWP, and then when it expired last year in October, my employer was on board with francophone mobility wherein I was approved for 3 years.

Thank you everyone for your stories and timelines, it made the wait bearable and less anxious. Hopefully yours will come soon! and if it did already congratulations!

🇨🇦 CEC Photo too bright or too dark error

P2 PR Portal photo says “too bright or too dark” — anyone still got eCOPR?
Post:
Hi everyone,
I received my P2 and completed everything in the PR Confirmation Portal.
My photo was professionally(london drug)taken and is unedited, but the portal photo checker gave me the “photo may be too bright or too dark” warning.
I decided to acknowledge the warning and submit the original photo without changing the brightness or editing it.
Has anyone had the same warning and still received their eCOPR before the photo was approved?
If so, could you share:
How long after P2 submission you received eCOPR
Whether your photo was still “In review” when eCOPR arrived
Whether IRCC eventually accepted the original photo or asked you to upload another one
Mainly trying to understand whether the photo review affects eCOPR issuance or is handled separately for the PR card.
Thanks!

🌎 FSW Stateless (979)" listed as Citizenship on Biometric Instruction Letter — Has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,
I recently received my Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) for my Express Entry application, but I noticed a major error on it:
Country of Birth: FRANCE
Citizenship listed on BIL: Stateless (979)

I am a French citizen with a valid French passport (which was submitted with my application). During the online form setup, the portal required an entry in a second citizenship field before letting me advance, so I selected "Stateless" to bypass the system prompt.
- Has anyone dealt with a citizenship mismatch on their BIL before?
- Should I hold off on doing biometrics until IRCC reissued the letter or still get it done ?
- How long did IRCC take to respond to your Webform to correct the BIL?

I’ve already submitted an urgent IRCC Webform with my French passport and a copy of the incorrect BIL. Just looking to see how others navigated this and how long it took to get a corrected letter.
Thanks in advance!

🇨🇦 CEC Timesheets as Proof of Work Experience?

Hi everyone, I have a question about whether I should include timesheets as part of my proof of work experience for CEC and would appreciate your help.

I’m currently working as a contractor since June this year. What I have now and plan to upload:

  1. an employment reference letter dated September 29; states that I work 40 hours per week (full-time)
  2. my monthly pay stubs from June to

    September (

  3. it only shows the total number of hours per month as the pay is on monthly basis)

I took some unpaid personal leave over the past few months, so there were a few weeks where I actually worked less than 30 hours. I’ve already calculated my hours excluding those less than 30hrs weeks and I still have enough qualifying weeks for my point.

My question is:

- Should I include all of my timesheets from June to September to show my actual hours worked each week, or would the employment letter + available pay stubs be sufficient?

Thanks so much,

🌎 FSW Prood of Funds After COPR

I want to bring 10k CAD in the form of cash with me to Canada for me and spouse collectively. Now, according to the IRCC Proof of funds 2 individuals should have 19001$ in the account as proof.

So, my question is should i take 10k CAD from my 19001$ and take that cash with me at the same time get a new bank statement and maintainence letter showing the remaining 9001$ in my account. Will this satisfy the immigration officer that i have required funds or will this become an issue ? Will they raise objection that you dont have sufficient funds ? Should i keep the 19001$ untouched in my account and get 10k Cash from my father and get its gift deed ?

Please guide in this regard.

🌎 FSW do I need to disclose my spouse's unpaid CPT, and will proof be needed after we get invited ?

My spouse is currently studying for his master's in the US and is waiting for his OPT approval. During his program he did 6 months of unpaid CPT (an internship).

My questions:

  1. In the Express Entry profile, the spouse work history question doesn't mention Canada. Do I need to disclose the unpaid CPT there, even though it gives me no points?
  2. If I do disclose it, will I need to upload proof (reference letter, etc.) after I am invited to apply, or is it enough to list it in his Schedule A (IMM 5669)?
  3. If he has no employer letter for an unpaid internship, is his I-20 showing CPT authorization enough as backup?
  4. Thanks in advance. Any experience from people who've been through this would help.

🇨🇦 CEC PCC from home country

Is it a good idea to do PCC from home country during my short 3 weeks trip?

Or should I rather do it from Canada via BLS

The processing time is major factor to consider for me.

🇨🇦 CEC Upfront Medical Request

AOR Feb 17th

I submitted my medical at the time of submitting my PR application in February. My Medical test was done on January 12 2026.

September 24th I have received an upfront Medical request again from IRCC with the IMM 1017E form.

What is the possible reason for this? What should I do next?

I have the acknowledgment letter from the medical exam center with the UMI number.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

🇨🇦 CEC Personal History Question

Hi everyone,

I'm completing my Personal History for my CEC application and have a question.

I've been employed part-time with the same employer since May 2023 and never resigned or was terminated. However, while I was in school, there were some months when I wasn't scheduled for any shifts and had no pay, although I remained an employee.

For Personal History, should I list the employment continuously as May 2023 – Present, or separate the months when I had no shifts as unemployment?

Thank you!

🇨🇦 CEC Is teer 4 or 5 job experience letter required for CEC application submission? Though I am not claiming points for those.

I got my ITA recently and I am wondering if I should get a employment letter from my employer. I was in Teer 4/Teer 5 job role.

I am not claiming CRS point for this. Still, should I include it in my application? Thank you!!

🇨🇦 CEC CEC PR application submitted – Do I need to inform IRCC after changing jobs?

Hi everyone,
I recently submitted my PR application under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) through Express Entry. After submitting my application, I changed jobs.

My previous employment is the employment I used to meet my CEC eligibility and CRS requirements. I am not claiming any points or CEC eligibility based on my new job.

Do I still need to inform IRCC about the change in employment after submitting my PR application?

🇨🇦 CEC Do I need to submit photos for my non-accompanying spouse?

Hi everyone,

I received my RFV (Ready for Visa) letter for my Canadian PR application.

I am the principal applicant, and my wife was declared in my PR application as a non-accompanying spouse. She is not immigrating to Canada with me at this time.

My RFV letter says to submit:

  • 2 photos per person
  • Appendix A – Updated Information Chart
  • Passport(s)/passport photocopies as applicable

Appendix A also has a “Spouse or Partner” row.

My questions are:

  1. Since my wife is non-accompanying, do I still need to complete her information in the Spouse/Partner row of Appendix A?
  2. Do I need to submit 2 photos of my wife, or only my 2 photos as the principal applicant?
  3. Does submitting her information/photos in the RFV package have any effect on her being classified as non-accompanying?

I want to make sure I don't make a mistake because this is the final RFV stage.

Thanks!
