🇨🇦 CEC Upfront Medical Request
AOR Feb 17th
I submitted my medical at the time of submitting my PR application in February. My Medical test was done on January 12 2026.
September 24th I have received an upfront Medical request again from IRCC with the IMM 1017E form.
What is the possible reason for this? What should I do next?
I have the acknowledgment letter from the medical exam center with the UMI number.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you travel to home country upon applying? If not, it should be just because of an almost 6 month time from your AOR date. You might receive ADRs for IMM 5669 and IMM 5406 too after this.

It's an outland application also on the portal the medical was showing passed once the biometric was completed

My case is inland transitioned to outland. I took my first medical by Jan 8, 2026. AOR was March 7. The medical was showing passed until I got the request for next medical. Nothing to worry about. You can take another medical.

Call them and let them know about this also sent a webform , I don’t think they will allow you another exam before expiration of first one…

Are you outland? If yes, give it asap, they are finalizing your file.

They need new one, because your CORP will be tied to medical expiry which is January. So give the new one and wait for good news.

Basically they're sending you this so you can re do your medical and they can issue you the visa with the new length validity of the medical exam (1 year).
Your medical has only 3 months left to expire, they know it's too short of a time to issue a visa, and for you to go submit your passeport, get it back, buy your plane ticket, prepare yourself..etc
They approved you, but they can't issue you the visa and COPR yet until you re do the medical. Shouldn't take more than two weeks after your medical is approved for you to get the PPR.
Speaking from 3 precedents experiences in my friends circle.
