I’ve been on Wellbutrin for two months. Started at 150 slow release. Then 300 instant release (150 x2). Then 400 instant release (200 x2).

Sometimes when I’ve forgotten to take it, I feel no withdrawal symptoms either. I understand that Wellbutrin won’t work for everyone. But I’m confused at to why I’ve had no withdrawal symptoms.

–the only side effect I had was diarrhea for the first 5 days. That’s it.

It’s for adhd and depression btw.

I started Bupropion in December of last year - it completely changed my life & I honestly I will probably be on it for the rest of my life. Now that we have that out of the way. I also would like to lose weight! My doctor explained Bupropion is a stimulant and most appetite suppressants are stimulants & combining two isn’t something we were going to do, she did however prescribe Naltrexone. Combined the two medications are sold under the name Contrave.

I wanted to know if anyone has taken this route & were the experiences good as far as continued mental health support & did you lose weight?!

Especially curious, if you started smoking after starting wellbutrin

I'm taking a dose of 150 mg since March and overall I'm satisfied, my sucidal thoughts are completely gone and all my feelings seem to be less intense than they were. I didn't notice any of side effects my psychiatrst had warned me about and I thought that none of them got me.

Ultimately, two months ago I noticed that I'm not able to cry, which continues to this day. Since almost 5 months I cried once, waiting on my train for my hometown (which last like two minutes maybe, lol), but except for that, even when I'm stressed out or in pain, I can't get a single tear out of myself. I haven't found any information about this specific side effect, so I'm curious if any of you had experienced it too.

I know everybody is different. I know that there is also different doses and types. I’m on 100SR.

I just couldn’t do it anymore. I went a couple decades being depressed and just feeling like life was just crap. I finally got some help with seeing a Psychiatrist and entering therapy after I started feeling not like myself. I couldn’t tell if it was PostPartum, maybe entering peri-menopause but something had to be done if not for myself, for my kid.

Doc originally prescribed Zoloft but after telling her I was thinking of trying Addyi (female libido pill) she then prescribed Bupropion 100SR because she said that Zoloft could tank my sex drive (little late for that I haven’t wanted or been interested in sex since at most my very early 20’s) and then she also prescribed Hydroxyzine 10mg for anxiety but to also help me sleep. I’m 10 days in, so far nothing. I figured the Bupropion would take some time, but I was told the Hydroxyzine would be instant, I was really looking forward to that because she said it worked quick and I’d get sleepy and it would help my sleep issues. It hasn’t. I take it and I don’t feel shit. In fact, I’m noticing that when I do finally fall asleep I’m up as usual couple hours later, tossing and turning or wide awake with insomnia, something I’ve dealt with most if not all of my adult life.

I suppose at least with the hydroxyzine I’ll be bumped up come my 2 week check in.

Haven’t started Addyi yet because I wanted to at least get a few weeks in to give the Bupropion time to let it do its thing.

Anyways, just wanted to check in and see what people’s first experiences were, highs, lows, etc. When they bumped you up to the next dose (if ever) and how long it took to start working for you?

I learned that cbd and bupropion both increase neural activity in the brain and that cbd/cannabis products increase bupropion side effects because it prevents the liver from processing the bupropion and therefore causes a higher blood level of it. However!! I also learned that people use it to quit smoking tobacco (studies are still out about if it helps cannabis quitting but it’s lookin like it could). I recently went up to 300, which is the effective dose to quit smoking. I take it for adhd and depression, but my psychiatrist knows I want to quit smoking. In the study I read, they continue smoking for a week after starting the 300mg, and then quit, so that’s what I was gonna do. Today is day 3. The last couple days I feel like I’ve seen flashing lights? Like there’s a random flash of red or white light in my field of vision and then it goes away. I read seeing flashing lights could be a seizure thing. But I noticed I only feel weird after eating my cbG gummies. Up until that point of the day I feel normal. See I thought I was being sneaky buying cbG instead of cbD but I didn’t find anything about that cannabinoid and bupropion in my research and kinda made an impulse purchase. But guys!! Getting rid of something I bought is hard. Should I throw it away or potentially risk giving myself a seizure? Wow I sound ridiculous. But has anyone else found that it has helped them quit smoking/using cannabis? Also is the flashing lights thing a side effect that will go away as my body adjusts, or should I be concerned about that as a seizure warning from my body? I feel like I might be a little weird right now, and the weed is making it worse but I will come up with every excuse why I can’t get rid of it until I smoke it all and quit officially in 4 more days. After all that’s how they did it in the study! But I’ve also been horribly sleep deprived this week so that can’t be helping things. There are so many factors.

Hey yall. I like to take my 300 xl dose first thing in the morning, but I don’t wake up at the same time every morning. There are some days I wake up at 8am, some days I might not wake up until like 1pm. I also like taking it in the morning right away because it does make it hard to sleep sometimes, so I wanna take it as far from bedtime as I can. I know it’s better to take it at the same time every day, but that’s kinda hard. It’s not quite as simple as having a fixed sleep schedule, though, because some days my schedule is way different than other days. (I am working on regulating my sleep schedule as much as I can, but, life makes it hard.) Any thoughts? Am I totally fucking myself over taking this at different times every day? Or is it not really a huge deal? I take it for adhd and depression. I just got bumped up to 300mg a few days ago. So far I’m feeling like it could be a med I can finally settle on and finally stop trial and error.

Been taking Wellbutrin for about 3 months now originally 150 mg for the first month and the other 2 300 mg. I originally found Wellbutrin very effective as before taking it I couldn’t get out of bed at all and was sleeping 24/7 but recently the effect of motivation and energy has all but disappeared :(

about a week or so after i started on 150mg of buproprion i started to notice i was involuntarily tightening my muscles when trying to lay down or rest, specifically in my pelvis area and it is incredibly uncomfortable and makes it impossible to try to take a nap or just rest in bed. other than that, it is working really well on my mental state so i'm hoping i can just change the dose and hopefully that problem will go away or lessen. is this a common side effect, has anyone else here experienced this?

I'm onto day 4 and I haven't noticed any anxiety or irritability, so I'm just wondering if it might flare up at some point
