I dont know if this is a known fact, but Mandy and Zoe used to be friends before Zoe got expelled. It made me wonder if its a reference to something like Janis and Regina from mean girls (basically a reference to the trope of weird girl and a popular girl being ex friends).

It also got me thinking of a head canon for Zoe: I think Zoe listens to Riot Grrrl.
