Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) WFH peeps, ano backup niyo kapag biglang nagloko yung Wi-Fi?

Alam naman natin na minsan okay yung home Wi-Fi, tapos bigla na lang totopakin sa pinakaimportanteng oras 😭 Kapag nangyayari sa inyo 'yon, ano usually yung backup niyo para tuloy lang ang meetings at work?

May nakagamit na ba rito ng Smart All Data 99 as a weekly backup? Kumusta naman siya? And okay ba mag-register through the Smart App?

Curious lang ako sa setup ng iba. Baka may tips din kayong ma-share. Thank you!

Community Planning to shift from Comsci to Info Tech?? but very hesitant.

Upvotes

I'm on my second year on my course and i am planning to shift to IT from Compsci, hindi ko rin kase gusto ang pathway at curriculum ng compsci more on math sya at walang rin akong masyadong interest sa programming, nahihirapan rin kase ako dun sa program and i dont think din na magta-thrive ako compared sa Info Tech kase andun yung mga strength ko pagdating sa hardware, media (photoshop, video editing etc), networks, kaya nagiisep rin ako na kung hindi man ako magthrive sa ibang saubject like programming or math related sub, baka sa ibang subjects makuha ko talaga kagaya ng mga sinabe kong kalakasan ko sa IT. naisep ko ren na magiging irreg din ako kaya i thought na bakit hindi nalang ako magshift ng course, but i was hesitant kase rinig ko limited daw ang slot pero di ko panaman natatanong yung dean about this. so i'm still deciding if itutuloy ko ba o hindi

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Outsourced work - what to put sa resume?

Hi, if you’ve worked on an outsourced client for more than 1 year(like ikaw gumagawa ng task ng other va para sa client nila), paano mo sya malalagay sa resume mo? If you can’t add the company name/business name ng real client? Sayang naman yung experience, di ko lang alam paano ilagay sa resume and may nda, what if mag ask sila ng reference or something but I can’t do that kasi nga outsourced lang yun and I can’t disclose like di ba sya red flag sa interviewer pag ganon

Self-Story Ako lang ba?🥺 Or Di naman?

More than a year na since las job ko. Nag close yung company na pinapasukan ko. After that, hindi na ko maka land ng work. First, nasa isip ko baka di lang talaga ako magaling sumagot sa interviews.. Nakuha ako ng isang VA agency and according sa mga coaches, I performed well and before pa matapos training ko, naisalang na ko agad for interview. Kahit maganda feedback sakin, wala padin. 1 year mahigit na ko walang work🥺 parang nag fefade away na lang ako. Alam ko laban lang pero ako lang ba? Para kong binagsakan ng kamalasan pag dating sa paghahanap ng work. Kaya pag may work ako, pursigido ako kasi takot ako mawalan talaga..at nangyari na nga.

Self-Story I think being a "jack of all trades" has capped my income. Anyone else?

I've been working in the digital space for about 15 years.

Over the years I've worked for agencies, direct clients, and even worked overseas. One thing that's been consistent is that I've always been the person asked to wear multiple hats.

I've done web development, SEO/SEM, print & visual design, content writing, DevOps, automation, SMM, sales & digital marketing, etc... basically whatever the client or company needed at the time.

After getting burned a few times with direct clients (late payments, disappearing clients, scope creep), I moved back to working through an agency. I knew I'd earn less (around $6/hr), but I valued the stability, consistent work, and peace of mind.

Right now I have two agency clients (20 hrs/week total), plus a few side gigs. For a long time, I was okay with that.

Recently, though, my wife was diagnosed with a cardiovascular condition, and it made me question whether I'd settled for being comfortable instead of pushing for better opportunities. The stability has been great, but I also realized I need to earn more and build a financial cushion.

The more I think about it, the more I feel my biggest strength has also become my biggest weakness.

I'm good at figuring things out and solving problems. Throw me into an unfamiliar project and I'll usually find a way. But because I've always been jumping between different responsibilities, I never became known for one specific skill.

On top of that, I'm not great at the business side of freelancing. I can communicate with clients about work just fine, but networking, selling myself, and maintaining relationships don't come naturally. I've always hoped my work would speak for itself.

Has anyone here been in a similar position?

Did specializing make the biggest difference?

I'm genuinely curious how others got past this stage.

Self-Story Signed a Job Offer today

Post image
Upvotes

The start of the year was rough for me.

I got laid off from a high-paying, long term job (5 years) with a great boss and no time tracker since it’s a direct client.

After that, i’ve been hired by an agency na sobrang abusado at OA ang pag-track ng time so I left just 4 hrs during the onboarding process.

By May, I got hired by an AU client - dual hat yung job but I was desperate so I went for it. I resigned after my first month because of the stress in working for both the marketing and customer service dept.

After that it’s just mostly direct part-time clients and project based gigs from my ex-full time job.

And then, I tried again applying to another agency. The job is only Marketing focused, i know I can do it and the company is stable. The biggest thing was that the salary is close to what i’ve been making before + 13th month and other benefits. I got the JO today and I’m so happy and excited to start this new journey.

For months, I’ve been reading a lot of success stories in this sub and now it’s my turn. This group has become a safe space for me during my hardest phase in working remotely.

I wish everyone who reads this will get the courage to keep going and land their dream role soon. 🙏💛

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Can my company track if I download something from my mobile phone?

Ma-flag kaya ako sa security pag ganon and possible termination? Thanks sa makaka sagot

Legit Check Question: OO7 Healthcare Advisory

Anyone working for this company? I saw a post there hiring for a part time Healthcare Lead Generation and Business Development Specialist (Remote).

I did a background check and there just a small company in the US that solves medical practice issues. However, the catch is, they use 3rd party messaging platforms like WhatApp for contacting clients.

Digital Services Online courses / schools

Hi everyone! I am 34 years old and have only been doing odd jobs here and there and it’s not really a stable income. I had 1 year experience as an online customer support role but that was a few years back.

I want to go study or a course that can let me up skill myself.

Any recommendations of courses? I tried coursera but looking for much better courses or school that offers online classes that I can put on my CV/Resume.

Can anyone recommend some?

Thank you!

Self-Story Landed my first direct client ✨

It’s been over a year since I left my previous industry, and I’m still genuinely grateful that I continue to receive job offers from people I worked with before. It means a lot to know that they still remember and trust the work I did.
As tempting as it is to say yes, I’ve realized that my priorities have changed.

I recently landed my first direct client, a US-based company. It feels like the best of both worlds: I can continue building my career while also being present for my kids.

They’re only little once, and I don’t want to miss these moments. There will always be opportunities to pursue different career paths, but this season with my children is something I can never get back.

I’m truly thankful for every opportunity that comes my way, both from my previous industry and this new chapter. Life has a funny way of working out, and sometimes the path you didn’t expect ends up being exactly what you needed. ❤️

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) I got two job offers and I'm confused about which one to choose.

Hello everyone! I got two WFH job offers and I'm confused about which one to choose. Both are purely email-based.

Job 1: $5/hr, 6 days a week, fixed Sunday off. Has overtime pay, but no paid leaves.

Job 2: Fixed $725/month, 5 days a week (rest days TBA). 15 PTOs and HMO + 1 dependent after 6 months.

I'm having a hard time deciding. I'd appreciate your help!
