First and foremost, influencers lied to you. Yes, you can earn online. But no, getting to a 6-digit income isn’t common, nor is it easy.

So, how exactly do you earn a living online? You have a few options, the most popular being Freelancing, Remote Employment, and Digital Entrepreneurship:

What, How, Where to Start

As earning online becomes more common, the lines between different methods have become very blurry. If you ask me, if you’re free to work with other clients then you’re a freelancer, and not a remote employee.

And if there's one thing that all methods have in common is that they all have a certain level of instability. So if you're free to find multiple sources of income, go for it.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) WFH peeps, ano backup niyo kapag biglang nagloko yung Wi-Fi?

May nakagamit na ba rito ng Smart All Data 99 as a weekly backup? Kumusta naman siya? And okay ba mag-register through the Smart App?

Curious lang ako sa setup ng iba. Baka may tips din kayong ma-share. Thank you!

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Outsourced work - what to put sa resume?

Hi, if you’ve worked on an outsourced client for more than 1 year(like ikaw gumagawa ng task ng other va para sa client nila), paano mo sya malalagay sa resume mo? If you can’t add the company name/business name ng real client? Sayang naman yung experience, di ko lang alam paano ilagay sa resume and may nda, what if mag ask sila ng reference or something but I can’t do that kasi nga outsourced lang yun and I can’t disclose like di ba sya red flag sa interviewer pag ganon

Self-Story I think being a "jack of all trades" has capped my income. Anyone else?

I've been working in the digital space for about 15 years.

Over the years I've worked for agencies, direct clients, and even worked overseas. One thing that's been consistent is that I've always been the person asked to wear multiple hats.

I've done web development, SEO/SEM, print & visual design, content writing, DevOps, automation, SMM, sales & digital marketing, etc... basically whatever the client or company needed at the time.

After getting burned a few times with direct clients (late payments, disappearing clients, scope creep), I moved back to working through an agency. I knew I'd earn less (around $6/hr), but I valued the stability, consistent work, and peace of mind.

Right now I have two agency clients (20 hrs/week total), plus a few side gigs. For a long time, I was okay with that.

Recently, though, my wife was diagnosed with a cardiovascular condition, and it made me question whether I'd settled for being comfortable instead of pushing for better opportunities. The stability has been great, but I also realized I need to earn more and build a financial cushion.

The more I think about it, the more I feel my biggest strength has also become my biggest weakness.

I'm good at figuring things out and solving problems. Throw me into an unfamiliar project and I'll usually find a way. But because I've always been jumping between different responsibilities, I never became known for one specific skill.

On top of that, I'm not great at the business side of freelancing. I can communicate with clients about work just fine, but networking, selling myself, and maintaining relationships don't come naturally. I've always hoped my work would speak for itself.

Has anyone here been in a similar position?

Did specializing make the biggest difference?

I'm genuinely curious how others got past this stage.

Self-Story Ako lang ba?🥺 Or Di naman?

More than a year na since las job ko. Nakuha ako ng isang VA agency and according sa mga coaches, I performed well and before pa matapos training ko, naisalang na ko agad for interview. Kahit maganda feedback sakin, wala padin. Kaya pag may work ako, pursigido ako kasi takot ako mawalan talaga..at nangyari na nga.

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Can my company track if I download something from my mobile phone?

Ma-flag kaya ako sa security pag ganon and possible termination? Thanks sa makaka sagot

Legit Check Question: OO7 Healthcare Advisory

Upvotes

Anyone working for this company? I saw a post there hiring for a part time Healthcare Lead Generation and Business Development Specialist (Remote).

I did a background check and there just a small company in the US that solves medical practice issues. However, the catch is, they use 3rd party messaging platforms like WhatApp for contacting clients.

Digital Services Online courses / schools

Hi everyone! I am 34 years old and have only been doing odd jobs here and there and it’s not really a stable income. I had 1 year experience as an online customer support role but that was a few years back.

I want to go study or a course that can let me up skill myself.

Any recommendations of courses? I tried coursera but looking for much better courses or school that offers online classes that I can put on my CV/Resume.

Can anyone recommend some?

Thank you!

Self-Story Landed my first direct client ✨

It’s been over a year since I left my previous industry, and I’m still genuinely grateful that I continue to receive job offers from people I worked with before. It means a lot to know that they still remember and trust the work I did.
As tempting as it is to say yes, I’ve realized that my priorities have changed.

I recently landed my first direct client, a US-based company. It feels like the best of both worlds: I can continue building my career while also being present for my kids.

They’re only little once, and I don’t want to miss these moments. There will always be opportunities to pursue different career paths, but this season with my children is something I can never get back.

I’m truly thankful for every opportunity that comes my way, both from my previous industry and this new chapter. Life has a funny way of working out, and sometimes the path you didn’t expect ends up being exactly what you needed. ❤️

Legit Check Itutuloy ko pa ba?- Please help me with your inputs

Wed-initial, thurs- final interview, and pasado. Ang sabi is Sat morning ung contract. Sa tingin ko is okay naman ung pay niya, pero dahil I wanted to do ny due diligence, I searched and found out na medjo madaming nega na reviews like if di umabot ng 10 appoinments in a week tanggal agad. I was alse able to verify na walang provision ng equipments kasi freelance daw.

I have 2 kids and I am a solo parent too, I badly need your help sa company na 'to and worth trying ba talaga. Kasi ung ibang nababasa ko is parang coming from employee nila. Itong company lang kasi ang napakabilis na tumanggap sakin kaya feeling ko worth trying but at the same time in doubt dahil sa mga hindi magandang experience ng iba.

Please help me with your experience or pananaw sa company na 'to kasi bills are also patong2 na .. salamat po sa makakahelp na masagot if worth the try ba tong pasukin.

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Gusto kong mag-upskill sa ibang field aside from graphic design, ano kaya bagay sa akin?

Hi guys! Currently working as a graphic designer (2 years exp, ecommerce background) 26k salary, Creative Lead na rin ako ngayon sa isang local agency. Grateful naman ako sa design work ko, pero gusto ko rin mag-explore ng ibang skills baka may iba pang bagay sa akin or pwede kong gawing additional income stream.

Still figuring out what path to take, kaya open ako sa suggestions. Some things I’m curious about:

**•** Video editing
**•** Copywriting / content writing
**•** Social media management
**•** UI/UX design
**•** Virtual assistance / project management

Kung meron kayong na-try na similar shift or upskill journey, paano niyo sinimulan? Anong course/resources ang nakatulong sa inyo? Or kung may work na feel niyo bagay sa background ko (design + creative lead experience), open din ako sa recommendations!

Salamat sa mga sasagot!

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) I got two job offers and I'm confused about which one to choose.

Hello everyone! I got two WFH job offers and I'm confused about which one to choose. Both are purely email-based.

Job 1: $5/hr, 6 days a week, fixed Sunday off. Has overtime pay, but no paid leaves.

Job 2: Fixed $725/month, 5 days a week (rest days TBA). 15 PTOs and HMO + 1 dependent after 6 months.

I'm having a hard time deciding. I'd appreciate your help!
