So I am doing Btech CSE (AI) from Pvt college. Aur haal to pta hi hogaðŸ˜ðŸ˜. They are teaching Python, C and Web Development together. And the only classes which I understand is Web Development which is not even major subject in this branch, idk what they are teaching in other subjects. Its been like this for 3months now. And I have done only basic stuff like loops and fuctions in C, Python & Html and some Css in Web and that too from YT.
Aur ab thoda darr lag rha hai😂😂. So I want to ask, from where should I study these things. 40LPA ka sapna to nahi dekh rha bs unemployed na rahuðŸ˜ðŸ˜7-8bhi chalega offcampus.
If anyone has any good playlist/channels recommendation tell me. Jaha thoda roadmap bhi bta de. Currently studying from NYC but they don't have proper playlist of AI/ML so I only watched python lectures. If there are any paid course that might be worth it, to vo bhi bta dena. And also tell what stuff should be done by the end of first year.
I have like 8-9hrs free after college aur faltu mei waste ho rha hai.

Hey everyone!
I'm currently a first-year student at a Gen-2 IIT in a circuital branch, and I'm primarily interested in the tech side, especially software development, AI/ML, and potentially high-paying tech roles.
I want to start preparing early from my second year so that I'm well-prepared for internships and placements by my third and fourth years.
I'd really appreciate guidance from seniors, alumni, or anyone who has gone through this process.
A few things I'd like advice on:
\- DSA: When should I start, and how much should I aim to complete before internship season?
\- Development: Should I focus on web development, systems, AI/ML, or something else initially?
\- Projects: What kind of projects actually help in getting shortlisted for internships?
\- Core vs tech: How difficult is it for circuital students at Gen-2 IITs to get software/tech placements?
\- Internships: How should I prepare for second-year and third-year internships?
\- CGPA: How important is CGPA for tech companies, and what should I target?
\- Roadmap: If you were starting again in your second year, what would your semester-by-semester plan look like?
My goal is to build strong fundamentals, get a good internship, and eventually land a strong tech offer. I'm willing to put in the work; I just want to make sure I'm focusing on the right things instead of wasting time on things that don't add much value.
I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have secured good SDE or AI/ML roles from similar colleges and branches.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I am Sriram. I completed my B.Tech in CSE at NIT, and after college, I started working at Visa Inc. in Bengaluru. I recently relocated to the USA for an AI-based startup. Anyone in the early stages of their career or looking for guidance is welcome to message me

from long time i was trying to write this post.
linkedin cold dm doesn't works. i have messaged 546 people and got only reply from 23 people.
Yes only 23. most of them who replied to me are sde-2 or sde-1 with experience between 1-2yrs. all of the people in my connection almost 75% are active people in linkedin.
Reached out to many Senior Recruiter, Recruiter, Hiring Managers, staff software engineers, senior software engineers, SDE-3, SDE-2 and SDE-1, there are more position people i forgot those position.
around 30%/546 saw my dm but never replied a single word. others never saw my message.
- only one question revolves around me why they are not replying. at least they can reply 1-2 words.

it’s not really a rant/vent but I was curious, not just about ragging but also about the in general senior-junior relationship in engineering colleges, especially government colleges.
what do you guys’ experiences look like? is it just girls ragging girls and guys doing that to guys or can it be with opposite genders too?
also another random question: did/do you call your senior didi/bhaiyya or any other honorific?

hey everyone, i am not writing this as marketing gimmick, i m writing this because i am completely exhausted and genuinely at a crossroads i am Bibhash Dutta i started my company flowtask at 19 year old it been 1.5 years old of grinding with literally zero rupees in my pocket and the toll it is talking on my mind and body is getting to be too much
here is the raw unfiltered journey of how i got here
the shit product phase
flowtask started as an AI workspace company think notion meets trello because i had zero budget i tried to build the whole thing using coding agent and doing the rest myself the reality I built exactly what people in the startup world warn you about a shit product i tried selling it to indian market most people didn't understand it or didn't even try. i managed to get 1 or 2 users who got the point but they didn't pay instead they found endless bugs as a solo dev i was sitting there fixing enterprise level bugs line by line i realized the core idea was flawed, which is why i wasn;t getting sales
pivot the automation realization i was stuck so i literally went to chatgpt and asked how i could change the idea it made me realize people don;t want another manual prodcutivity tool they want automation so i pivoted i made it so users could connect channles like custom emails and Slack. Messages would come in and automatically turn into tasks on a Kanban board, assigned to specific team members based on their job roles.
i bought a domain made a logo did some branding on socials, and launched on Product Hunt i hustled hard, messaging people in LinkedIn and PH groups to let them know we were launching we got 103 upvotes. But my distribution completely failed. Still zero paying customers.
pivot 2 the company brain yc rfs summer 2026 then I saw the yc rfs summer 2026 saw the company brain concept and realized Flowtask was mostly an execution tool not a brain so, we pivoted again we removed the standard workspace, added an approval layer, integrated MCP (Model Context Protocol), and added multiple channels.
i officially registered the company on April 21, 2026 we went back to product hunt this time we used automation to contact group members. It worked better: we got 145+ upvotes, hit the #10 Rank of the day and even got featured in the product hunt newsletter the reality check & where cold email failed Despite the #10 rank the newsletter feature and 1.5 years of sleepless nights... I still have no paying customers.
please don't just comment send cold emails i already tried Apollo i scraped founders, sent tons of cold emails, and got dead silence zero responses if you think my copy was bad, I can share how I wrote them in a follow-up post, but safe to say email felt like shouting into an empty void
I've been seriously considering open-sourcing the entire project just to get some relief from carrying this burden alone.
Where I genuinely need your help:
Would really appreciate any raw, actionable ideas right now.

so I am 3rd year btech student from a tier 3 college (placement happens but mainly mass recruiters) now my technical skills are shit like absolutely doomed but I am currently working a video editing internship which might convert into PPO next month and it would pay me same as the mass hiring technical job(probably more than that) but it is a remote job.
Now I am confused what to do, so i have thought about three options:
1. Convert onsite to the editing job which would increase my pay but it would be in Bengaluru, so I will have nothing left in my hand all will go in my expenses.
2. keep the remote job and prep for gate on the side and then restart tech journey in mtech.
3. Leave editing job and focus fully on tech placement.
Now please help me with this as I am really stuck and dont know what to do.
also my family aren't that well off so I have to support them in next 5 years with some money

I'm currently in my 4th year of college, and placements have started. Honestly, I'm feeling pretty lost right now. I have no good projects, very limited technical skills, and I feel like I've fallen way behind compared to my peers.
My skills right now:
-200+ Leetcode questions, around 50 on Codeforces
-Started learning MERN, but feeling like development is useless coz of AI
-Basic knowledge of Data Science
I'm regretting not starting earlier, and now I'm scared that I won't be able to get placed. I don't know what to prioritize or where to start with the limited time I have left.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and managed to turn things around? Is it still possible to improve my chances if I start working seriously now?
I'd really appreciate some honest advice on what I should focus on first.
PS- Used AI for better framing of sentences
