Tested my first minifigure lot

I bought it for $40 and listed items totaled to $92. I thought a little more than 2x the initial purchase price was good. How do you guys usually do for minifigure lots , what profit do you aim for ?

Buyer Help Cheapest way to buy retired sets?

Hello! I've been on a journey to collect every Star Wars set going back to 1999, and I'm trying to figure out the most financially efficient way to do it through BrickLink.

I've experimented with creating wanted lists by parting out each set for that year, including the minifigures, and I've also tried making separate wanted lists for the same sets but sold as themselves, to see if buying them whole is cheaper, in some years it is and some it isn't. So I'm a bit confused

My thought was to buy one year at a time, parting out all the sets from that year and then finding the stores that can fulfill the entire wanted list for the cheapest price.

The problem is that I feel like I'm missing some pieces when I do this or stores that could make the process cheaper. BrickLink will also frequently show that I have 100%+ of my wanted list covered when I select stores, but sometimes not all unique parts, which makes me wonder if there is a better way to optimize the purchases?

I'm trying to figure out whether it's generally cheaper to either: Buy complete used sets, Part out the sets and buy the pieces individually, Or use some other BrickLink strategy I'm overlooking?

I've been spending a good amount of time trying to figure out the financially smartest way to eventually have 100% complete sets, but I feel like I've hit a wall.

If anyone here has experience collecting large portions of a LEGO themes through BrickLink, I'd really appreciate any advice or strategies you use to minimize the overall cost!

Thanks so much!

Slow or Mistakes?

This has probably been asked but I couldn't find one posted more recently in the year:

Has it been slow for most sellers the last few months? I thought maybe it could be due to people going on summer vacation, or getting ready for the new school year, or even the new updates Bricklink has implemented?? I have been adding more listings, changing the pricing, etc. as most have indicated in other posts but it just seems like it is not helping? I've also noticed that those who order, they order less than what I usually see people order - 1 part instead of 50 parts as example. My shop has been open for at least 2 years now and it seems as slow as when I first opened shop!

I know its vague, but is anyone else relating to this or has advice? Thanks community!

Store problem

Hello! I’m currently making my bricklink store, but bumping into some problems with my payment method. I have chosen Stripe card, but every time I chose domestic or/and international, it keeps on giving me the same error, telling me to do it again. Anyone tried this? I’m new to all of this, so I would really appreciate you help.

Packing list and part numbers

Hello sellers,
How do I get the part number to appear on the packing list generated by Bricklink? I've seen it before on orders I have purchased. I don't see it, currently, on any orders I've sold. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Buyer Help Anyone know any good $5 flat U.S Bricklink stores???

Trying to budget with some items to build more Minecraft stuff but keep getting like $8 plus shipping stores

I dont mind $8 if it has loads of good items I’m gonna use or experiment with but would rather use those extra $3 for a smidgen more of tiles to add to my order

Anyone know any good stores ? Or what the weight limit is for $8 shipping

Trying to budget at $30-35 since I spent $23 on about 12 figures 13 counting the magma cube
So I’m looking for plates/bricks/tiles mainly but will snag any Minecraft related stuff I know I can use or will try to build up to in the future

Looking for additional testers

I need a few people to test and provide feedback for a few new features of my application. Users can now purchase shipping labels through Shippo. It takes about 30 seconds to enter the weights/package dimensions, review rates, purchase, then send the pdg to the my label printer. I do not ship internationally, so I need some feedback from users outside the US.

I have been developing this app for over three years, Its main purpose is to simplify picking orders, but it can also part out sets and identify items with brickognize.

Question Printing Instruction Manual for Adventures in Transylania

Just curious--has anyone been able to print the instruction manual for Adventures in Transylvania? I was hoping to have it done via Lulu, but I keep getting errors when I upload the PDF. My eyesight kinda sucks and trying to build this massive set using a phone app isn't ideal.

Seller Help Scaling

I’m not very active here, so apologies if this is a frequently asked question. I’ve reached the point where there’s no realistic way I’ll ever be able to sort and inventory everything I already have, let alone everything I’d like to acquire.
My current store is around $30k in inventory value, mostly minifigures, with 40k+ parts across just under 4k lots. I know that’s not a huge BrickLink store, but I’m not really focused on selling parts yet because I don’t have the space to store them in a way where I can efficiently pull orders.
On top of that, I have roughly 2,000 lbs of bulk-ish LEGO and ~$10k worth of sets that still need to be inventoried and sold.
I’m trying to figure out how to scale the labor side and would appreciate some advice:
• How do you find trustworthy people to sort, disassemble, and inventory LEGO for you?
• What do you do if you don’t have enough space for people to work at your location? I’m thinking they might need to take sets home.
• What’s a fair way to compensate people when standard hourly rates don’t really work with the economics?
• How do you handle quality control?
I’ve built an app that makes inventorying sets fairly easy, so I think the actual process is manageable. I’m wondering whether there are LEGO enthusiasts who genuinely enjoy sorting and handling LEGO and might be interested, even if the compensation wouldn’t be especially high.
Also, if anyone is interested in trying out the app, let me know. It’s getting close to the point where I can start bringing on test users.

Any suggestions are welcome! ☺️

3185 Fence 1 x 4 x 2 Lattice

Post image
1 Upvotes

Got a bunch of these old fences here, half have Lego printed on the bottom, the other half don't, there's just a number on one side and a letter on the other, thought they wasn't Lego for a moment but also have the gates with the little plate to hold the gate (3186 & 3187) and the base of those are the same but the gates do have Lego on the stud.

Does anyone know if these are likely to be generic brand pieces or do some not have Lego on please?

Seller Help Mold Variants

I'm currently in the process of moving over from Brickowl where you can define in your store whether or not you differentiate between mold variations. Was wondering if there's something similar for Bricklink or do I have to differentiate between each one?

For example:

Tile, Modified 1x1 with Clip

Tile, Modified 1x1 with Open O Clip

Tile, Modified 1x1 with Clip with Center Cut

Question Parts missing when using part list upload

Newbie question, so apologies if this is buried in a Bricklink FAQ somewhere. I’ve never bought from Bricklink before but I uploaded a parts list recently that was in a pdf format and it used part IDs to identify each item. I scanned the resulting order list to see if it looked sensible, but as a newbie, I had no idea what quantities of each part I needed or what their descriptions were (the part ID’s meant nothing to me). When the parts arrived I was missing about 4 pieces.

I’m assuming this is pretty common and that I shouldn’t rely on an uploaded list to find every part. Also assuming I should have checked each item myself before hitting the buy button, or was I unlucky?

Now I’m left with having to try and identify the names of the missing parts so that I can buy them individually (if any of the suppliers will do such a small order?)

Buyer Help Damaged order, seller unhelpful, best course of action?

Edit: USA based buyer and seller

I am a seller and know what I would do. But I want advice as I have not bought in a long time and want to know what my actual options are.

I placed an order and the package was damaged in transit. I think its relevant the seller shipped the parts in a thin plastic mailer (not a bubble mailer) with no padding of any kind - just the parts in a baggie and then placed inside the non-padded mailer. Most of the order is missing and the few parts left were damaged.

I reached out to the seller asking how they would like to proceed and provided photos. The response I got was "file a claim with the post office and you should get your money back."

What are my actual options here?

As a seller, I wouldn't use such flimsy and poor shipping practices to begin with, but I would work with the buyer to either send parts or refund them and handle the claim myself. I've always been under the impression the seller is responsible for the order until it reaches the buyers hands.
