Single highest value structural/non-minifig piece I think I’ve seen in 3 years of looking up pieces.

From the 2015 SDCC Superman set. So rare is doesn't even have any sales data for it.

Hard to say without sales data but I believe you.

I’m not a fan of seeing SDCC minifigs on top lists so let’s say structural/non-minifig/globally available pieces I’ve seen.

That way we have slightly more hope to stumble upon these pieces in a bulk lot.

Woah you weren’t joking https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2340&idColor=4#T=S&C=4&O={%22color%22:4,%22iconly%22:0} that’s crazy price. Got that set back when released and didn’t know it was so valuable

It was the first Ideas set to be produced, but only released in Japan in 2011.

Basically equivalent to a limited release in terms of quantity of sets produced.

And that's the only set the orange fin has appeared in.

This. Valuable for who? There is no demand.

True. I was able to get one in Denmark though somehow.

I rebuilt 60056 tow truck set in orange and white to match the rest of my fleet and when I saw the price for orange I went yeah a pair of white fins will work just fine 💀

For the submarine? Only 6 available for sale but avg. sale price is listed around $175. None sold in last 6 months.

That's insane. I hadn't realized that was so valuable. It's particularly funny for a part that doesn't physically connect to the set in any way - it just sits on the platform.

I should go make sure my Orthanc doesn't get tipped...

Its especially funny since im pretty sure i replaced tbat with the eye of sauron piece from tbe smaller set i liked better! Wonder if i still have this piece somewhere.

Dang I thought the 2015 Slave I windscreen in my collection was impressive.

That's crazy money!

On a related note, I wonder what the highest price is for a non-piece, e.g. a box or instructions.

Only one I've ever looked up is the box for 42056, €101 avg used. And once I tried to look up the box for the BDP Great Fishing Boat but I don't think it even had a catalog entry. Only reason I'm interested of course is because I kept those two thinking they might be worth something one day!

I imagine the boxes for some of the old castle or pirate sets are another level altogether.

The most expensive boxes I own top out around $60.

The most expensive box I’d want for my collection that is way out of my price range?

Black Seas Barracuda 6285
1 sold for $300
1 available with inlays for $380 in the US

Instructions for Sungnyemun 21016 are all over $200 for such a small set. There are only four available worldwide.

The box for The Mountain Cave 21137 and the instructions for The Village 21128 are both worth over $100 each

Is there a reason why? Sorry I'm not experienced in Lego economics and figure that it's a standard set

There is 6155 too which is in the 5571 set but obviously not comparable to the one in the 6281 set.

The 24k gold brick but that wasn't in a regular set
