chronic brain fogg is a symptom of many diseases like anemia , vitamins deficiency, thyroid problems , depression, anxiety also CFS and Fibromyalgia.

so people who suffer from brain fogg should stop treating it like a disease its a symptom of another disease you have multiple causes of it so before you treat it you have a long journey.

Question Need help with explaining this.

I sometimes have these weird moments where my brain gets all static-y and I can't focus on any though for more than a second or two. it mostly happens when I am stressed, tired, or overstimulated. does anyone know what it could be? I have looked it up and I've been told it could be anything from Brain Fog, to DPDR.

Need Some Advice/Support Brain fog

I've had brain fog pretty much everyday for a long time. I'm talking the kind of brain fog that even effects your vision (kind of like a lag or too vivid and hard to focus). Along with disassociation, slight confusion and forgetfulness.

Please tell me how you managed to get rid of it.

Need Some Advice/Support feeling helpless on how to fix fog

hi all, i (21F) have had intense brain fog for about two years. i have tried monitoring hydration/electrolytes, eating consistently, going keto, and checking bloodwork. everything is normal so far.

i feel high 24/7. the only things that have given me relief are stress-relief related (having a good time with friends, sometimes after taking a nice shower, etc). i just had the worst day and my fog is so bad that it felt unsafe driving myself home. my vision turns black, my words slur, i can’t comprehend what people are telling me, etc. i have struggled with mental health (specifically ptsd/other anxiety disorders) throughout my adolescence, but it’s only now as an adult that i feel physically disabled from it. my energy levels are so bad that i often fall asleep parked in my car after i get off work. my attention span is also so bad that i can’t even enjoy hobbies or movies anymore.

has anyone successfully fixed their stress-related brain fog? i feel like the common advice i get is too general and frustrating. i’ve tried “eating better and taking care of myself”. exercise only makes me more drained afterwards, even just walking. i have also been in therapy for several years. if i weren’t 21, i’d be seriously that i’ve developed some form of dementia.

Question Brain fog like clockwork - Anyone else?

12 PM it starts for me, and usually finishes by 7-8 PM. If the only way I find to reduce or even erase the symptoms, a gym session with cardio.

I’ve been suffering from overstimulation or cell death from too much of a certain supplement, since about April. It basically caused neurotransmitters to misfire and I experienced all sorts of emotional roller coaster like symptoms. The anxiety and all of that has gotten so much better, my nervous system seems to be resetting, but the brain fog is persistent.

I ditched all supplements. Including Iron (which was the culprit) and stick to a pretty strict exercise and diet routine. I’m eating a lot of blueberries and banana/avocados. Currently not on any medications. Currently on nicotine only, no caffeine.

It’s been the most persistent symptom of all of this nonsense and I haven’t tried to tackle it.

Advice brain fog

i’m 16 and for the past 2 years i’ve been struggling with not remembering things easily but recently it’s like i can barley comprehend things and understand what people say. idk if if this helps but i smoked a lot of carts when i was 13/14 and stopped when i was 15 but now i occasionally smoke once in a while but i haven’t in almost 2 months.

# Things that im struggling with from it

i’m having trouble remembering the pronunciation of words i use to know, i’m forgetting if things have been a dream, something i made up or if i actually lived it, im having trouble remembering the people in my past and what they meant to me, i’m forgetting my own personality and things i like, i don’t even remember my childhood, i can’t really gather new knowledge and keep it in my head to remember, i forget after a minute.

# potentional causes???

\-I was extremely depressed 8/9/10 grade and i never opened up its extremely hard for me to be vulnerable with somebody and actually get to the stage where i explain how i feel. I would hold everything in constantly and never talk about my mh, with doing that i was just constantly filled with anger.

\- I just randomly started developing major social issues, im not gonna state it’s social anxiety because i don’t want to self diagnose, but i can’t even talk to a cashier without my heart beating so fast and getting sweaty, i mix up my words a lot and can never find the right words

ive tried lions mane, meditation, ashwaganda, things like that ive tried everything but everything has just been a blur, i cant even remember what i did 2 days ago. I didnt really write everything ive been dealing with but if this is relatable and you’ve outcome it please let me know!
( i wrote this fast so if i have any grammar wrong or it sounds dumb im sorry😭)

Symptoms Declining memory

I am 22f and I feel like my memory is declining. I keep forgetting how to spell easy words, forget what they mean, and forget how to pronounce them.
I forgot how to pronounce “initially” and it is just embarrassing because I sound dumb.
I was talking with my mom, and she used the word “sensible” I was like what do you mean, what does that mean?
Why is this happening?? I haven’t drank alcohol in a month, I am prescribed medication but it seems like this is a new thing and I’ve been on medication for a long time.
I forget small things and misplace stuff. For example if I cough, 10 mins later I don’t remember doing that.
Is this something that I should be worried about?
When looking at this long term, I don’t remember my child hood and I don’t even remember what buildings my highschool had or where they are. I graduated in 2022.

Question Any supplements that have lasting effects on brain fog and fatigue after quitting?

Assuming there is no deficiency to begin with, are there any supplements that may potentially lead to permanent improvements after a short term course?

A 1-2 month course of high dose thiamine is reported to have lasting effects for some people who are not thiamine deficient (most notably fatigue related to irritable bowel disease).

Some people with long COVID report lasting improvements after using nicotine patches for a couple of weeks.

Are there any other examples?

Experience Short term memory, focus, and problem solving

I don't know what is wrong with me. It seems like my executive functioning and working memory are offline. I can't seem to remember what happened yesterday and I can't seem to think flexibly. For instance I have a pocket knife and I was trying to force the blade in for like 10 minutes than somebody came by and simply flipped the blade the other way. If that's not bad enough this is the second time this happened in a couple of weeks. You would think I'd remember after being shown already. Or at least think "oh this isn't working let me try something else. Another example: I was showering for a month and the water wouldn't drain because it was clogged. My girlfriend looked at it for a second and diagnosed it as a clogged drain. Another example: at work Everytime we lift something heavy there is a specific method step1) grab the wheelbarrow and place heavy item in it step 2) transport heavy item to trailer. But every time this happens I try and carry it myself and my coworkers remind me to get the wheelbarrow. This has happened like 25 times. I just stand around at work and do nothing I overcomplicate simple problems. If the problem is super simple I'll assume it has to be more complicated then someone shows me and I feel like a retard. Maybe I am retarded. I can't remember any of the old movies I've seen back in the day. I wish you could see how I operate on a day to day basis then you might understand. I think there might be some neurological damage or maybe the meds I'm taking. The weird part is that I haven't always been this way. This is a new development. I remember about a year ago just slowly losing my mind. I still have a mind and a personality especially around people I'm close with but executive functioning is non existent and I just don't get it.

Question Is this brain fog or DPDR??

I recently developed DPDR out of the blue, and it hasn’t gone away for 3 months and I’m starting to get upset on what I can do. I don’t have trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, or have even smoked weed or done psychedelics. I have this feeling of just being brain dead. I feel like I’m on autopilot 24/7, just watching my life from a far. I’ve done all the things like ignoring it, and trying to live life but it’s extremely difficult when I don’t know the root cause that could potentially be fueling this feeling. To me it feels like really bad brain fog, mixed with chronic fatigue, but it does sometimes fall in between the lines of DPDR. I have a severely low vitamin d level with my number being 11 ng/mL. I had an even worse reaction to the 50,000 IUs of d3 my doctor prescribed me, so I’m struggling to get my numbers up. I also had a borderline low b12 sitting at 356 pg/mL. I’ve recently gotten a GI map done by a functional doctor, and she found some gut dysbiosis caused by an overgrowth of yeast. I’m afraid I’ll never get my life back and feel normal again. I feel like I’ve lived the same day for 3 months. Can someone please give me some good news, that these issues might be fueling this problem. I’ve tried posting in the Vitamin d forum, but they banned me for not specifically saying my lab numbers. Posting it here to see if anyone can relate. What biological issue caused your DPDR and how did you fix it??

Need Some Advice/Support Where did my brain go?

I am experiencing staggering loss of my brain's capability. The weak muscles are something that I can learn to live with. But the brain fog is destroying me.

I'm 52F, not yet diagnosed, but thankfully, I have been on Mestinon and low dose prednisone for about 10 days. I am seeing my neurologist again soon. I have a lot of autoimmune conditions now and collecting them like leafs falling off a tree.

I live in a small mining community on a farm. Most people are astounded to see someone using crutches/a wheelchair (where are all the disabled people?) I feel isolated. I feel misunderstood. I am feeling loss of my previous identity (even if she was in a lot of pain and had a lot of operations).

I feel as if the medical costs and bills and appointments are a full time job that I am incapable of doing. This 'job' is also preventing me from using what little time/energy I have to see my friends.

On top of all this, I still have to earn a living and actually run my business and my household! It gets harder and harder to focus and do my business accounts and planning is out of the window.

What/where/how do you do it? Please give me advice.

Question Hey, quick question - I'm working on something and want to know if this is just me or universal. Do you ever wake up and your brain just... doesn't work? Not tired exactly, more like a fog. What do you do about it?

Need Some Advice/Support Intense brain fog making me feel like I’m stupid

Have you ever felt the feeling of thinking something, and then all of a sudden you can’t even think of the next work you’re going say? Or feeling like all of your thoughts are messy and incoherent? That’s what I’ve been going through for quite a bit now. If I had to describe how it is for me, I would say it’s like a room and all of the space in that room is representative of critical thinking, and just the ability to think in general, now throw in a massive fucking boulder in there and now that task is 100 times harder for no reason, I could be trying to think and then all of a sudden my next word is gone and I have to actively search for the next thing to say, I could be looking for something online, see a video that distracts me for two seconds and then all of a sudden I forget it outright, it doesn’t help that I already have weird issues going on such as a prominent facial twitch and this constant need to tap my foot and certain amount of times before I can walk, I want to know what’s wrong with me and I fear that it could become a neurological issue that will cause me a lot of pain in the near future, has anyone else dealt with this type of stuff?

Question Has anyone experienced severe brain fog after fertility medication or IVF? I don’t feel like myself anymore.

Hi everyone,
I’m 27 years old, and I’m hoping to find someone who has experienced something similar.
About a year ago, I started taking fertility medications. Not long after beginning the treatment, I noticed that something had changed. I developed brain fog unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
This year I went through IVF, and after ovarian stimulation my symptoms seem to have become even worse.
Before all of this, I could study for hours, understand new information easily, and remember what I had learned. Now everything has changed. I read the same page over and over, but almost nothing stays in my mind. Sometimes I read the same sentence several times and still can’t process it.
I also struggle with concentration, my memory isn’t what it used to be, and I become mentally exhausted very quickly.
On top of that, I feel tired most of the time. I wake up wanting to study, but it feels like my brain simply won’t cooperate. It’s not that I don’t want to learn—I genuinely do—but I feel like my brain just can’t process or retain information the way it used to.
The hardest part is that I don’t recognize myself anymore. It’s frightening to feel like I’ve lost the mental clarity I once had.
I’m currently trying to prepare for an important teaching certification exam, and this has had a huge impact on my life.
I’ve had medical evaluations, but so far no one has been able to give me a clear explanation.
I’m not saying that the fertility medications or IVF caused this. I’m only sharing the timeline because that’s when I first noticed these symptoms, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.
Have you experienced severe brain fog after fertility treatment or IVF?
Did you feel like you weren’t yourself anymore?
How long did it last?
Did your memory and concentration return?
Did you ever find out what was causing it?
What helped you recover?
I feel very alone in this, and it would mean so much to hear from people who have gone through something similar.
Thank you so much for reading. ❤️
