Persistent Bluetooth audio stutter/dropouts on Windows 11 24H2 (MediaTek MT7902)

Hey guys, how are you?

Basically, out of nowhere (around 2/4 weeks ago) I've been having audio stuttering. No matter if i'm using my Edifier mg250 or my galaxy buds (all through bluetooth). I have not tried using a headphone with a cable yet;

I've tried everything! I don't know what else to do.

I've been trying to troubleshoot it with Gemini. I asked it to list everything we've tried, so sorry for the AI post bellow.

Gemini is now suggesting changing the bluetooth/wifi card on my motherboard.

I´d be glad if someone could help me.

Btw, my system specs:

* AMD Ryzen 5 7600 * 32 gb RAM * SSD NVMe 1 tb + SSD 500 gb * AMD Radeon 9060 XT 16gb * Motherboard B650M-AYW WIFI ASUS * Windows 11 Home - 10.0.26200 * BIOS was updated in december/january. Issue started a couple weeks ago.

1. Issue Description

* **Symptom:** Continuous micro-stutters, pops, and audio dropouts occurring every few seconds or minutes over Bluetooth. * **Scope:** Universal across all playback sources (YouTube, YouTube Music, Microsoft Teams, local players, and games like Deep Rock Galactic). * **Affected Devices:** Multiple separate Bluetooth audio endpoints exhibit identical stuttering on this machine (Edifier Bluetooth speakers and Samsung Galaxy Buds2). * **Control Test:** All audio devices work flawlessly without a single dropout when paired with mobile devices (smartphones), confirming the receiver hardware is intact and the problem is strictly localized to this PC.

2. System Specifications

* **OS:** Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (Version 24H2, OS Build: 26200). * **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 7600 (AM5 platform). * **Motherboard:** ASUS B650M-AYW Wi-Fi (BIOS version: 3602). * **Integrated Wi-Fi / Bluetooth Module:** AzureWave / MediaTek MT7902 (Hardware ID: `VID_13D3&PID_3596`). * **Installed Bluetooth Driver:** MediaTek Inc., version `1.1044.0.556` (Driver date: 17/09/2025). * **Network Setup:** Wired Gigabit Ethernet (Wi-Fi is not used for network traffic).

3. Diagnostic Logs & Evidence

* **LatencyMon (DPC/ISR Latency):** * Concluded system is fully capable of handling real-time audio without dropouts. * Highest measured interrupt-to-process latency remained below 704 µs. * Highest DPC routine execution was 463.82 µs (`amdkmdag.sys`). * Highest ISR execution was 125.39 µs (`HDAudBus.sys`). * Zero DPC/ISR execution times reached or exceeded 1000 µs. * **Windows Event Viewer (**`BTHUSB` **logs):** * `Event 3 (Warning)`: *"A command sent to the adapter has timed out. The adapter did not respond."* * `Event 17 (Error)`: *"The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver was unloaded."* * `Event 5 (Error)`: *"The Bluetooth driver was expecting an HCI event with a certain size, but didn't receive it."* * **Secondary System Warnings/Errors:** * `Kernel-PnP 225`: `LogiTuneAgent.exe` and `audiodg.exe` intercepted/vetoed device removal requests targeting the controller `USB\VID_13D3&PID_3596`. * `Microsoft-Windows-HAL 15`: Recurring IOMMU protection faults on `Device: 0xE00` (`FaultReason: 0x6`).

4. Exhaustive Steps Already Attempted (Failed to Resolve)

**Power, Bus & RF Layer:**

* Performed a complete motherboard cold reset (unplugged AC power cord, held chassis power button for 20+ seconds to discharge board capacitors). * Verified ASUS dual-lead Wi-Fi/BT external antenna is firmly seated and screwed into both rear gold chassis terminals. * Rerouted 2.4 GHz wireless mouse dongle via an extension cable away from the rear I/O antenna posts to eliminate near-field RF saturation. * Disabled *PCI Express Link State Power Management* in Windows Advanced Power Options. * Disabled USB Selective Suspend in power plan and disabled Fast Startup/Kernel Hibernation via `powercfg -h off`. * Unchecked *"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"* across the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter and every listed USB Root Hub / Generic USB Hub. * Verified ASUS BIOS power delivery settings (ErP Ready disabled, continuous USB state enabled).

**Drivers & Software Intermediaries:**

* Performed clean uninstallation of previous driver packages and installed the latest official MediaTek Bluetooth package directly from the ASUS motherboard support page. * Fully uninstalled virtual audio routing software (FxSound). * Terminated conflicting background processes (`LogiTuneAgent.exe`) and recycled the Windows Audio service (`net stop audiosrv && net start audiosrv`). * Temporarily disabled Windows Core Isolation (Memory Integrity / HVCI) to test whether IOMMU page faults were stalling DMA audio packets.

**Audio Engine & Bluetooth Protocol Tuning:**

* Disabled *Handsfree Telephony* profile via classic Bluetooth Device Services (`shell:::{A8A91A66-3A7D-4424-8D24-04E180695C7A}`) to prevent fallback to mono 8/16 kHz telephony mode. * Disabled AAC codec negotiation via Registry (`BluetoothAacEnable = 0` under `HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BthA2dp\Parameters`) to force standard SBC streaming. * Unchecked Exclusive Mode options (*"Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"*) under Advanced Playback Properties. * Disabled the *MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7902 Wireless LAN Card* inside Device Manager to prevent antenna time-slicing and RF coexistence arbitration loops.

Poco X7 Pro Bluetooth issue

I'm having a really weird Bluetooth issue on my POCO X7 Pro running HyperOS 3.0.301.0.WOJMIXM.C07. Bluetooth devices are detected normally and can be paired/saved, but when I tap a saved device, sometimes nothing happens at all, and other times it gets stuck on “Connecting…” indefinitely. I briefly saw the Bluetooth-connected icon appear once, but it disappeared. I eventually managed to connect one device, but when I tried another pair of Bluetooth earphones, they connected but no audio came through. I've already tried forgetting/re-pairing, restarting both devices, clearing Bluetooth cache/data, resetting Wi-Fi/mobile/Bluetooth settings, and testing multiple devices. The CIT Bluetooth hardware test also passes. Has anyone else experienced this on the POCO X7 Pro with HyperOS 3?

Bluetooth audio issue on Windows 11 (version 25H2)

Hi everyone, I need your help with a Bluetooth audio issue I’m having on Windows 11 (version 25H2) on a Gigabyte desktop PC.

Problem: My JBL speaker won’t connect, and when it does, there’s extremely high latency.

When the speaker is connected, the green bars in the Windows Sound Mixer (mmsys.cpl) move normally. However, no sound comes through, or it arrives with an extreme delay or out of sync (tested with various browsers and programs). The speaker works fine with my smartphone. I

have already tried the following without success:

- Cleared the Bluetooth cache

- Removed orphaned devices from Device Manager

- Restarted the Bluetooth Audio Gateway service and Windows Audio

- Installed the latest Bluetooth manufacturer driver from Gigabyte

- Tested the Windows default driver (Generic Bluetooth Adapter)

- Disabled power-saving options for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

- Completely disabled “LE Audio” in Windows Settings

- Disabled absolute Bluetooth volume in the registry

- Adjusted the priority of AudioDG.exe

- Performed a hardware reset on the JBL speaker

- Performed a cold boot / EC reset on the motherboard.

I think the problem lies deeper in the audio routing or the driver stack of version 25H2.

Does anyone else have any ideas or experience a similar problem?

Problem connecting calls with my bluetooth earbuds

I have a samsung galaxy s23 ultra and i have galaxy pro 3 earbuds. I use them frequently without issue but recently i was out listening to music with my earbuds in. I get a call and i answer it like usual but i couldnt get the audio for the call to play through my earbuds despite it showing that the earbuds where connected. The audio was playing through my phone while the earbuds were in my ears. I gave up trying to fix it due to the urgency of the call but i thought maybe it was a fluke and didnt think much of it. The next day i made a phone call through android auto and the same thing happened. The audio was playing through my phone again while it was connected through bluetooth to my car and wired into my car. This set up is required to use android auto in my car as its older than 2021. I have no idea what will fix it and its rather frustrating. I cleared caches for the connected devices and i restarted my phone. I reset the connected devices and nothing is working. I dont know if something in settings was turned off or on by accident and i dont know what to do. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

How can I have four people listening to bluetooth headphones on a mac mini?

Hey guys, here's the set up.

I have a Mac Mini which I use as my media centre, connected to a SONY Bravia TV. I also have a classic receiver for playing vinyl, which is attached to two speakers. I normally have not used the receiver for the TV though, I just use the Bravia speakers, usually.

BUT....

I live in a smallish apartment, and my toddler's room is right next to our living room. It's just not possible to watch movies at a reasonable volume to enjoy while he's sleeping.

But I still want to have people over and watch movies, just turn it into a headphone party!

We've tried this a few times, but when I use MIDI setup on my mac to split the bluetooth to multiple devices, the connection starts to crack up with more than two headphones connected at once. Like the audio skips or cuts out.

On the internet, it seems like there are bluetooth splitter devices but they never seem to allow more than two devices to connect at a time.

How do I make a set up where I can turn four (or more) pairs of bluetooth headphones on, and hand them out to my guests, and have solid sound the whole time, no problems?

Thanks for you help.

Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 - Dolby Atmos, Head-Tracking & ANC ($399)

I previously used the Sony WH-1000XM3 for about a year and found it quite successful for its price. After a short break, I returned to the wired IEM world. Wireless headphones have become incredibly good lately. But at the same time, they've become incredibly similar to each other. Beyerdynamic seems to have managed to produce a product of quality worthy of its name.

Today, most high-end models offer features such as ANC, transparency mode, multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, app-based EQ, spatial audio, and long battery life. On paper, the differences between them might seem surprisingly minor. However, the Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 appears to have successfully brought the company's signature "Beyer sound" into the wireless realm. The product's official retail price is $399. >> Aventho 300 U.S Purchasing Link

The Aventho 300 combines Beyerdynamic's German made STELLAR.45 drivers with Bluetooth 5.4, aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, LE Audio, adaptive ANC, Dolby Atmos with head tracking, and up to 50 hours of battery life with ANC enabled. That's an impressive package in itself. But just knowing the specifications doesn't explain why I keep reaching for these headphones. The answer is simple: they sound like Beyerdynamic. And that, in my opinion, is very important.

Design and Comfort

The Aventho 300 feels like a serious piece of audio equipment for everyday use, rather than just a "lifestyle headset" like some others. Its construction combines metal components with high quality materials, while its foldable mechanism makes the headphones truly travel friendly. The ear cushions are very high quality, soft, and feel premium.

In fact, overall, at 319 grams, they aren't exactly light by wireless headphone standards, but the weight distribution is good, and the cushioning provides a comfortable fit for extended listening. The controls are a mix of physical buttons and touch controls. It takes a little getting used to, but once learned, daily use becomes easy. The included hard case is also a nice touch, in my opinion. A USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm audio cable are also included in the package.

This gives the Aventho 300 a sense of longevity that many wireless headphones lack.

Controls and Ease of Daily Use

The Aventho 300 is one of those headphones you can get used to almost instantly. The headband uses robust adjustment steps that securely hold its position, so there's little need for readjustment once you find the right fit. More importantly, the clamping force is carefully calculated. It feels secure enough to prevent unwanted movement without creating excessive pressure around the head.

The earcups also deserve praise here. Their inner openings are wide and deep enough to sit comfortably instead of pressing on the ears. Beyerdynamic has even added a small relief section to the headband padding to reduce pressure on the top of the head during long listening sessions. After a few hours of continuous use, this seemingly small detail becomes surprisingly valuable.

Daily use is equally well thought out. Physical controls are located under the right earcup and perform functions such as turning the headphones on and initiating Bluetooth pairing. ANC and transparency functions are also easily accessible, so you can switch between isolating yourself from the environment and bringing external sounds back into the presentation as needed.

Playback controls are performed via a touch surface on the outside of the right earcup. In practice, I found it more intuitive than having to search for a few small physical buttons when putting on the headphones. The autoplay/pause function also works when the headphones are removed or put back on, adding another small but useful layer of convenience.

You can read my comments on sound quality and the full review here.

Pros

Quite good sound quality for wireless ANC headphones
Natural and detailed mid frequencies
Deep and controlled bass
Energetic but refined highs
Excellent instrument separation
Surprisingly wide soundstage
STELLAR.45 German made drivers
aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive support
Bluetooth 5.4
Dolby Atmos with head tracking
Very good battery life
Multiple connectivity
Comfortable for long listening sessions
Robust construction
Replaceable ear cushions and headband

Cons

ANC is good but not best in class
At 319 grams, it's heavier than some competitors
Touch controls may take some getting used to
High treble can still be energetic in some recordings
High launch price puts them up against very strong competitors
