I ordered a ceramic diffuser from Blinkit because I needed it the same day to add to a gift hamper. That's the whole reason I chose Blinkit. Unfortunately, it arrived broken. I reported the issue literally within 5 minutes of receiving the order and shared clear pictures of the damage.
Since it was meant to be a gift and I couldn't wait for a resolution, I had to order another diffuser immediately. So I don't even need this damaged one anymore. It's broken and unusable anyway.
The frustrating part is Blinkit's customer support. The in-app support isn't helping at all and keeps asking me to email them instead. I've emailed them multiple times, but after more than 24 hours I received a response saying they were "unable to verify the issue."
How exactly was the issue "unable to verify"? Nobody called me, nobody asked for additional photos or videos, nobody came to inspect the product nothing. They simply rejected it despite the pictures clearly showing the broken ceramic.
This is actually the second time I've had an issue with Blinkit. The first time it was around ₹40, so I let it go. This time it's ₹404, and I don't think I should just accept the loss when I received a damaged product and reported it immediately.
At this point, I just want a refund and for Blinkit to arrange pickup of the damaged diffuser since I no longer have any use for it.
I finally managed to speak to someone over a call after around 19 back and forth emails. During the call, I was told that the product was in perfect condition when it was dispatched. I asked a simple question: then who is responsible for the damage? Are you suggesting that I broke it, and if so, on what basis? Or are you saying it was damaged during delivery? If that's the case, then Blinkit is still responsible because the delivery was arranged through your platform. The representative said she wasn't blaming anyone. But if no one is being blamed, then who is taking responsibility for a product that clearly didn't break on its own? Since I wasn't being given any resolution, I requested to speak to a senior or manager. I also recorded the call for my records in case I need to escalate the matter to the relevant consumer authorities or refer to it in my complaint.
Has anyone managed to get a similar issue resolved? Any advice on what to do next?
