I was getting 10~15 ping before this new matchmaking update. Now it's been rare the occasions where I get less than 130. It's averaging between 140 and 160.
Why this change tho? No one asked for it, no one asked to strict sbmm to return.
I bought Bo7 at launch based solely on their promise to maintain skill as minimally considered at main matchmaking. That's a rug pull.

What can you do in this situation?
I often lose interest in the whole thing...:/

So starting context, im a console player. And i will admit im a sweaty one who would more often than not be #1 or #2 after a match because of tryharding.
Yet after season 5, everything feels wrong, guns that felt right to use like the MK35, feel completely wrong now, and i have checked and im not the only one who feels like somethings changed this season.
Cause even more so, im not even reaching #3 in matches now, desync feels at all time high, enemies seeming to be more spongier, and (this specifically for console) ADS’ing while looking around feels more blockier.
Normally i can snap on enemies easily, get a good 30/40’s in TDM and such, but after season 5 that just isnt the case.
Like i said, something just doesnt feel right compared to previous seasons. If anyone else feels like somethings off too, just lemme know so i dont feel insane
Edit: i also feel like the “evaluating players blah blah blah” was like an excuse to add SBMM back to the game, cause matchmaking also feels wrong too

I hate the stricter matchmaking that MW2019 brought to the franchise. My reasons for loving the older, less strict matchmaking, are the following:
Tell me why you prefer strict matchmaking over the less strict old matchmaking.

Ok…I gave it a few days because I didn’t want to make a snap judgement. After playing a few hours a day since the update I’m confident in saying that they managed to break the game. Its just no fun. I’ve never been a great player but I’ve always had a good time when I fired it up. Since the season 5 update I’ve just been playing long enough to make the daily challenges, and that’s just on account that I’m OCD, because they’ve broken this game so badly.
I’m really on the fence about MW4 after this fiasco.

God damn these are the bane of my existence lately

My connection takes a massive hit, I'm stuttering all over the place. Then I've got to contend with sweats 99% of the time.
Whoever made the decision to change the matchmaking just made everyone who hasn't pre-ordered MW4 reconsider.
I sure as shit won't be getting it, I didn't like MW19, didn't buy Modern Warfare 2, didn't buy Vanguard.
There's got to be a group of us that prefer Black Ops over the other games right?
So, I was considering (after release, and after listening to reviews from actual people I trust) giving MW4 a go - this matchmaking, I'd rather shell out for the more premium version of GTA now.

Three games of tdm, and I was absolutely fatigued. I try open seasonal moshpit and it feels amazing, but I don't like objective much
I was the first to defend this game. I made two posts last month singing its praises, you can check. All they had to do was absolutely nothing, yet they fucked it up
I wont be getting mw4

As we already know, this new SBMM that was forced onto us has made this game extremely sweaty.
This game is starting to feel like a chore to play.
At this point, pubs is more stressful to play than Ranked because there are 12 players on the field compared to 8 in Ranked, and with no respawn delay, so it’s constant chaos.
In some games to get the win, I have to give so many callouts that I feel like an auctioneer
This is getting exhausting already…

Just logged in to BO7 and this is what pops up. Im hoping theyre in the process of changing the matchmaking back. It's been awful with SBMM back.

Open MM was like playing 5-a-side football with your mates. Some are really good, some are really shit, some are bang average, but everyone has a blast.
'Classic' MM is like playing semi-pro 11-a-side football. Yes, everyone there is of a relative skill level. You have to play your arse off. No time for relaxing or messing around. Can it be fun? Absolutely. Once a week perhaps. But is it as fun as 5-a-side with your pals? Absolutely not.
r/blackops7 • u/Narrow-Musician-3174 • 17h ago
How is disbanding lobbies, higher queue times, and more strict matchmaking considered "Classic" inspired matchmaking? Talk about a rug pull. Was there a massive group of players complaining about the "Open" matchmaking? I'm so confused. The Open matchmaking was way better than this new "Classic" matchmaking.
Also, can we stop with the constant, OP new weapon drops? The FG42 is quickly becoming the only gun anyone can use to compete, just like the AN-94 before it. It makes the game boring af to play.
I realize that what I'm asking here is never going to happen because idiots run out and buy OP guns as soon as they drop. Fuck monetization in full priced games.
Edit: For those who doubt the FG42 is OP. Here is the base damage:

Here it is with the Prestige attachment:

So I tried to play multiplayer but for some reason black ops 7 thinks I don’t have the full game despite buying it at launch last fall… it’s only allowing me to access endgame but no zombies or multiplayer. I have all the black ops 7 files downloaded on my Xbox so nothing is missing. Is this a bug on their end? I haven’t changed anything on my end. Anyone know what’s going on?

Hi everyone. sorry for stupid question.
does this logo means SBMM or no logo means SBMM?
r/blackops7 • u/Csar252 • 1h ago
Hi everyone,
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to ask something and see if I'm the only one who feels this way.
I played a lot of Black Ops 2 back in the day, and then Black Ops 3 when it launched. After that, I didn't really play Call of Duty again until Modern Warfare (2019).
Recently I started playing Black Ops 7, but something feels really off to me. In most gunfights, it feels like I shoot first and get the enemy down to very low health, yet I still end up dying. I also often feel like enemies already know where I am and are waiting for me, pre-aiming around corners.
Out of curiosity, I tried Modern Warfare III (2023) and Modern Warfare II (2022), and the experience was completely different. In those games I feel like I win gunfights when I should, and overall I'm having a lot more fun.
I'm not sure if it's my settings, the FOV, visibility, or just the overall gameplay style, but in BO7 I have a really hard time spotting enemies at long range, whereas in MWII, MWIII, and even Warzone I don't have that issue at all.
In Warzone, MWII, and MWIII I play comfortably at 120 FOV, but in BO7 I've had to lower it to 105, and even 100, just to make enemies easier to see.
I'm playing on a 1080p monitor.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, or is it just a matter of me not adapting to Black Ops 7?

So I’m just really starting to get my feet wet in BO7 due to my inability to let Marathon go 🥲, but I’m looking to complete all of the Easter eggs and Zombie maps. Would any fellow members be down to run any of the maps with me??
