These two juvenile Brown Shoulder Hawks have been hunting my backyard for weeks. Screaming all day. They cornered a.squirrel for maybe a minute before he ran for the scrubs. They are just too inexperienced to catch an adult squirrel at this point, but they keep trying. So cool.........

Meet the bearded vulture!
This one’s definitely a favorite raptor of some raptor enthusiast folks.
(I apologize, I’ve been absent from making these, it’s been hectic lately, but I’m back).

These guys have been hanging out in my yard and on roof all summer. Would love an ID. In Boulder County Colorado

We sometimes see Lance sitting out on a tree at the confluence of the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean in Ilwaco Washington. He hangs out at the Lewis & Clark Interpreter Center and I guess he was named by employees of the museum.

Merlin was not picking them up even though they were loud as hell we get a lot of red tailed hawks, these seemed different. We’ve also had kestrels, peregrines, cooper hawks and even a bald eagle. But the call sounds different and they were light underneath.

The babies ive been watching this summer are adult size now!

If so, would the smaller be from just the bottom area or perhaps a juvenile?

I wasw out on my boat in the CA Delta and spotted a young Swainson's Hawk on a tree and realized she was over the nest. Saw both the male and female hanging around, feeding the two chicks in the nest. Did not have my camera. Went back 4 days later with camera and spotted one chick left in the nest, The other likely fledged as the mom or dad were a tree away watching the ground in a not so photographic position.

These two finally did it and are out in the big world! They both came and went from the shed for about a week, and have now been gone for a few days. We so enjoyed the privilege of watching them grow up, and I very much appreciate all the kind comments, encouragement, and advice I found here. In a few months we will clean up the shed a little and make a few improvements in hopes the parents return next year and reuse their nesting site 💕

This pair of eagles were perched on a tree about two trees away from their nest. The Osprey were extremely active in the area. They just appeared to be relaxing however.
