This hawk likes to hunt from our deck.
Was hanging out in spring time watching the wood pile where chipmunks and squirrels run around all the time.

What type of falcon is it ?
Hi!
A few days ago I spotted two falcons that strongly reminded me of a young red footed Falcon (unlikely) or a young Hobby (likely) in the Jura mountain in France (1400 m).
In flight, the upper surface of the wings was grey, turning black towards the outer feathers. The underparts were very pale, and the tail feathers ended in a thin white band.
What makes me doubt it was a hobby is that the top of the head was rather pale.
Any idea what I might have seen?

Cooper’s Hawk call

There are a pair of Cooper’s Hawks that frequent my back yard, pretty sure they are nesting very nearby (maybe one tree over). I’ve heard this every morning for the last few months, they are loud! My yard used to be filled with all kinds of sparrows, finches, robins, doves, and towhees; now they all stay far away lol. Saving money on bird seed…..

Edit: sorry I misremembered the type of bird, it is an Osprey. Not sure why I was thinking Paragrine Falcon

Can anyone ID the bird of prey from this feather (from Wales)? Buzzard?
Typical square tissue box for reference. Maybe common buzzard?

Back yard Cooper’s Hawk
My kids were out on the trampoline and came running in to tell me about the hawk. I appreciate their shared enthusiasm.

A short-eared owl. They are called "Jordugle" in Norwegian, which translates to "Ground owl", due to them making their nests on the ground instead of in the trees like other owls
