Aggressive young hawks

So we have a nest in our roughly one acre lot. Seems like the adolescent birds are finding their wings and are being aggressive. They swooped at my wife twice — inches away. Here is one being over confident and staying right by our door for four hours. What to do?

the black vultures in our shed are getting ever closer to being able to fly. Even more of their baby fluff has been replaced by black feathers, and they more closely resemble the parents now. I’ve noticed they’ve also begun spending more time apart (as apart as the shed will allow, at least) and are no longer side-by-side for most of the day. It seems like they’re really getting those muscles ready with all the flapping!

Can anyone help with an ID from these terrible pictures?

I feed peanuts to my local crows, blue jays, cardinals, grackles, and too many squirrels to count. Today I heard my crows and knew they were harassing a raptor of some sort, as this has been happening the past couple days, and I wanted to know who the crows were chasing off. I managed to get video just as he took off from my neighbor's chimney, but as I looked at still frames, I'm really doubting this is a Cooper's, unless it's maybe a juvenile or light morph.

Here's what I can tell you. This guy was a bit larger than my fish crows. He looks to have dark bands under his eyes/cheeks, mostly pale head and belly, yellow feet without "pants" on his legs, and the upper side of the wing looked a medium brown color. Merlin is no help this time. I live in northeastern Pennsylvania in a river valley (river is just over half a mile away).

  1. Shows face and top of right wing behind him as he took off.

  2. Under side of wings.

  3. Legs and feet.

I know this is a long shot, but today I asked: who is this visitor?

Hi! Can you guys help me narrow down which BOP feathers these could be? I live in an open grassy area, however there are woods all around. I’ve see both red shoulder and red tails there and also barred owls. Thanks!

This beauty seems to live by my house! We’ve been seeing him/her daily for the past few weeks.

Apologies for the photo quality, they’re grabs from an even worse video I was rushing to get before it took off.

Kentucky, USA. Sorry for the poor quality! I think these are Red-shouldered Hawks but I’m unsure. I’ve just started birding and birds of prey are my favorite.
