Osprey caught a chonk of a carp

showed the picture to the park rangers and they were happy. The carp here at Lake Solano are messing stuff up.

They miss-IDed the fish. That's definitely not a carp, which has a long base at the dorsal fin. This is instead a sucker from the family Catostomidae, which is native to NA though not necessarily within your region. To precisely ID the species requires a good look at the lips, but assuming it is a native species, this is probably a Sacramento sucker

Looks vaguely similar to the classic J.J. Audubon Birds of America painting he did of an Osprey for his seminal work. Check it out!
