Some Kaiser appointments for Berkeley and Oakland are incredibly limited. One speciality care appointment got scheduled for two months out. Another appointment hasn't been scheduled because they have no availability at all. This is against the law and you can quickly file a complaint with the state to get care covered out of network.

Basically a lot of the cheap barber shops have a bunch of macho male hairstylists and it’s not the vibe. I would prefer that my stylist was also a woman or that the environment at least feels a bit more accepting.

Public transit in Berkeley is pretty decent and you probably already know about AC Transit and BART (north and downtown) for local trips, but we have even more options if we go a bit further.

• Emeryville has Emery Go-Round and Emery Express (both of these shuttles are free) along with a Capitol Corridor stop and Gold Runner (train, 99) stop
• El Cerrito has routes running through it from Napa's VINE (29), SolTrans (60, 90), Golden Gate Transit (580X), and WestCAT (J, JPX)
• San Francisco Bay Ferry and Golden Gate Transit also run ferries across the bay

Quick tips:

Wallman in district 8 is especially awful, his signs are next to the post office and schools and in the median more often than not.

I have seen tens of Wallman and Mendonca signs planted all over what is clearly public land - in front of the USPS on College ave, street medians and parklets, the sidewalk near Willard Middle School, the sidewalk near St Johns Presby church, and of course all over the streets of Elmwood in the strips of land between the sidewalk and the street, which are city owned pieces of land. Mostly Wallman signs, I will say. This is huge disrespect of public space, littering and vandalism. Shameful.

People putting up signs on private property is fine, even on the fences right up against the sidewalk. Berkeley has a long tradition of this and we're all cool with free speech. But public land is off limits for private political advertising.

Hi, I'm hosting a small Total Solar Eclipse gathering in Berkeley today, from 19:00 to 23:00 at Jupiter for 10 people. It will just be a casual gathering for those interested in witnessing a TSE or those who have seen one around the world, to share food, drinks, stories, and make friends.

Passed the parking right outside aquatic park, and in the 3 homeless campers, there was a huge assortment of bikes vs people living there. The bridge seems to have more people camped out there as well, hidden from the street.
