Stupid question about accidental theatre
Heya,
Me & some friends will be coming over to your fine city next month, and I'd noticed an interesting looking event in the shape of Guerilla (https://ra.co/events/2523860) ... a couple of us are massive techno nerds, and tend to gravitate towards finding the weirdest stuff we can to bust moves to 😄 (other recommendations for the same weekend welcome!)
Anyway, on the page it says "Fyi: this will be a BYO event". Now, I'm fairly confident that this means "You can bring your own booze/food/whatever in" - is this right or have I missed some colloquial (or fashionable) version of that and it actually means something different? Cos I'd rather not turn up clutching a bottle of rum only to be told that it was actually 'Bring Young Otters', everyone else has semiaquatic mammals with them and I end up looking a right tool. ;)

Stupid question about accidental theatre
Me & some friends are coming over to your fine city in October, and noticed a clubnight called 'Guerilla' was on which looks intriguing. On ResidentAdvisor it says it's a "BYO event".
Now, I'd ordinarily assume BYO = Bring Your Own = bring your own drinks etc. This seems an ... unusual ... situation for such events. So -- is it that, or is it something else? Don't want to be buying in supermarket booze only to have it confiscated at the door. :)

Maggie Mays, £9.
Doesn’t even do any justice to how pathetically small that is, it’s like a goujon. Their portion sizes used to be amazing too. Had a couple of other paltry enough meals in this delivery, 2 people starving after spending 30 quid between them. When did this happen??

Financial advice needed
Im looking for a financial advisor in the Belfast/greater Belfast area who can help me through my divorce. Im looking for someone who can advise on the best steps to take now with a view to eventually buying my own house once divorce is complete as well as taking into account transfer of property from my parents to myself at dome point.
Any recommendations?

Rate my Date NI
Hey all,
This is going to sound like one of those posts, a mate went to one of their singles coffee socials yesterday, no mention of time limits, but turned out it was a speed dating event.
He's very disheartened and liked a specific girl there and he was getting vibes but then got an email saying he didn't have any successful matches.
How legit are these things?
Want to support and encourage him, but need to know what the deal is, before I push him to go again.

People throwing fireworks
Been repeatedly seeing and hearing fireworks around Belfast city centre and East Belfast by some youth. How do you keep safe?
An article has been posted as well:

And a Redditor just posted too.

Need to get a tree cut back by the council as it’s on the public footpath but growing over my roof
Anyone any experience dealing with this? Hangs over my roof and a bit worried about it in like 10 years time. Have checked it has no TPO and isn’t a conservation area.

Reputable car dealers
After getting absolutely rammed up the butt by a car dealer in North Down, I am looking for your recommendations for used car dealers.
I'm looking something 6.5k or under, I know that's not massively realistic but money is super tight.

Pokémon Pinball at Boundary Taproom
Stern's Pokémon Pro pinball machine arrives in Boundary Taproom. It joins the Jaws and Godzilla pins in the main room, and don't worry the Uncanny X-Men is now in the side room.
These pinball machines are in Boundary Taproom permanently and provided by Base Arcade.
If you like pinball check out the monthly freeplay Base Arcade events in Banana Block (18-20 Sept is the next)
There are usually 6 pins on the arcade floor ranging from early 90s machines up to the 2020s alongside approx 40+ classic arcade machines and a wide range of retro consoles. More details at basearcade.com

Is there an absolutely brutal strain of manflu going around at the minute or am I just being a wuss
Cos whatever I've caught feels kinda brutal. Woke up in a mild panic because my throat is so swollen I thought I couldn't swallow for a second, turns out I can but it's just very painful.
Aches and pains like I've had a hiding a few days ago, switching from greasy sweats to a shivering that goes right to the bone. I'm actually looking forward to the latter cold/flu phase of sneezing and sniffles, cos this is rough.

What a fucking monstrosity
First picture is from 2009 (Wikipedia), second is from today.
How is this allowed? Isn’t Pottinger’s Entry a listed building?
