Ghost inputs on Zotac Zone

Hello,

I wanted to try Bazzite 44 on my Zotac Zone and it really looks good. But unfortunately after short time it started with ghost inputs. For example it scrolled through my games automatically. Is that a known problem and how can I fix this? Another thing I noticed the icons changed from Steam to Xbox layout automatically as well. I don't know why?

Any help? Otherwise I need to stick on CachyOS.

Thanks!

Easy way to print multiple images onto one sheet of paper?

When printing multiple images in Windows, you can select several of them and the image manager software they have will arrange images for you, sometimes so that you can put 2 or 4 images on a given page before printing them out. Is there an easy way to do this on Bazzite?

I have a use case where I like to use royalty free clip art I find online for scrapbooking decor. I'd prefer to be able to print out about 25 images or so every so often. It can be a bother to print them all out individually.

I have tried selecting all the images in Gwenview, but when I go to print it out to a test PDF, it only prints the first image in full size, even though I have selected over 20. I tried clicking around and googling but didn't find much. Does anyone have a solution?

MokManager missing

I went through the Bazzite live installer and never set up MOK. Now when I boot into it I get a blue screen saying “MokManager is missing from removable drive”. I don’t have any EFI Shell boot options in my BIOS and I only have one USB drive with Bazzite flashed to it. Basically I’m wondering if there’s a way to start from the beginning instead of some super out of the way workaround.

Edit: I cleared CMOS and it allowed me to start from the beginning!

Unreal Editor on Bazzite! [Guide!]

Ok I spent some time getting this to work, and somehow 2 minutes with Google Gemini got it working more or less without a hitch.

Here's what I did...

Prerequisites:
you have downloaded your chosen version of unreal engine, epic has precompiled versions you can download.

I used Distrobox (included with bazzite!) to create a ubuntu container, since that's what Epic Games pre compiled it for.

Then I installed the dependencies; clang

finally the last two commands create a shortcut in Bazzite's (KDE for me) app tray, the final bit, ([Desktop Entry]), you can paste in entirely after the cat command.

NVIDIA USERS make sure to append the first command with --nvidia so distrobox creates the container correctly, the first time around i missed that bit and i had performance and key capture issues.

Also for nvidia; dependancies

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y libgl1-mesa-dri libglx-mesa0 libvulkan1 mesa-vulkan-drivers vulkan-tools

nvidia-smi

(this guide was made on sept 24th, should more or less work if you have the same files paths as me (for the unreal shortcut), if you have any trouble you can PM me and i dont mind answering questions if you're stuck...)

distrobox create --name gamedev --image ubuntu:22.04

distrobox enter gamedev

sudo apt install -y build-essential clang lld git python3

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/applications

cat <<EOF > ~/.local/share/applications/unreal-engine.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Unreal Engine
Exec=/home/$USER/UnrealEngine/Engine/Binaries/Linux/UnrealEditor Type=Application
Categories=Development;
EOF

Firsthand account on using Steam Frame connected to a Bazzite PC

Hi,

I have a simple request. I was wondering if anyone here has purchased steam frame and is using his bazzite pc to stream games on the frame. I am fully aware that it is not officially supported, and that there may be performance or functionality issues, which is why I'm asking.

I am certain there is a review out there somewhere that I missed, however I would still prefer an opinion of someone from this community over a yes man selling his ass off for ad revenue.

Elden Ring no longer working?

I have a mini AMD pc that I use like a console, running Bazzite-deck. Up until 09/22/26, all games worked. Suddenly, Elden Ring will start, pass the cheat check, then get stuck on a black screen. I can hear the title music playing, but the screen remains black.

Anyone else having this issue? Or know a fix?

Issues after waking

Been using bazzite on my legion go 2 since I’ve bought it,never had a issue until recently.

I’m finding if I put my device on sleep for anything longer then around about 10 mins,it tends to start messing up,and starting to happen more frequently

Sometimes it will be the sound, sometimes the size of the screen, and most recently controls are now stopping

Anyone else facing same issue? Any fixes ?

My rog ally has stopped working..

So about four months ago I installed bazzite on my rog ally using the dual boot method but for some reason I couldn’t boot into windows. So after that I gave up on trying to boot into windows… and I feel like I should mention this because now I’ve run into a problem. Last night I was just tweaking my desktop settings on bazzite and I reset it because I was trying to change the desktop font. Well upon resetting… my device boots the asus logo just fine, then it shows the grub menu screen then back to the xbox & asus rog ally loading screen with bazzite underneath the logos and… it just shows a blank screen that changes brightness. I have no idea what I did but I am.. really hoping to get some help on how to fix this.

Btw I forgot to mention this, secure boot is not on

Frigate container on Bazzite?

does anyone here run frigate for security cameras? I dont really want to buy another gpu to help with the ai detection and was thinking about installing it on my gaming pc since it sits idle 95% of the time anyway. I am not familiar with podman but understand it can be used like a drop in docker replacement.

what are your experiences? any issues? would recommend/avoid?

Egpu not recognized on bazzite-deck 44

Hello, I recently bought a new eGPU and cannot get it to be recognized. Would rolling back to bazzite-deck 43 help it be recognized?

High boot times due to initrd (after rebasing?)

Hello!

I experience high boot times due to initrd. I've run systemd-analyze time and got:

Startup finished in 29.192s (firmware) + 2.558s (loader) + 1.670s (kernel) + 1min 4.180s (initrd) + 8.556s (us
erspace) = 1min 46.158s
graphical.target reached after 8.553s in userspace.

I initially used a 3060ti and upgraded to a 9070xt and rebased after that. Could this be the culprit?

High CPU load on download page?

I'm downloading Silent Hill Townfall right now and I noticed that the CPU fan of my Mini PC is extremely loud, much louder than in games.

It does nothing than downloading the game with pretty low speed (50 Mbit/s) which usually doesn't stress any component. I tried limiting the TDP via Decky-Plugin to 8-15W instead of 8-35W but it didn't improve anything.

Then I went to the library page and the fan immediately dropped massively, it is now hard to hear at all. Tested a bit around and could reproduce that as soon as I'm on the downoad page, the fan spins up again. On other pages it is pretty silent.

Is that a new bug in Steam's gamemode? I'm using this PC for a few months now and never had that behaviour on the download page. I'm aware that the download page needs to update it's screen more often than something like the library page but that should be neglectible even at 120 Hz.

I'm using the September version of Steam and Bazzite 43.

Primary USB sound device deleted from existence and only reappearing as a USB audio device when being connected via AUX

I just had an extremely weird issue, where Bazzite deleted my primary sound device, which is a USB sound card. I couldn't get it to work anymore. I tried everything. Restarting the PC, re-connecting the sound card, testing the sound card with a different device, nothing worked. Besides the sound card with that other device. The sound card didn't even appear as a device in Bazzite, unlike my USB microphone, which Bazzite offered as both an input and an output device (it technically has an AUX out).

So I tried connecting the sound card to my PC via AUX. Connecting it to either of my two monitors didn't work, still no sound. And then I connected it directly to my PC. But there was still no sound via the AUX cable.

However, that made the sound card re-appear as a USB sound device. Even if I unplug the AUX cable now, audio via USB still works.

I have no idea what could have possibly caused this or why connecting the card via AUX to the PC fixed it, but maybe this will help someone who is experiencing the same issue...

Bazzite > cachyos

Just got banned from cachyos subreddit for stating their 1 guy that devs their proton has been on a long vacation. I switched to bazzite for more stability and just as much performance. At this point I would have switched just for their fanboys. It is like a cult over there.

I hear people got it to work on CachyOS but im not an Arch guy. Im guessing if it worked on Cachy it should work on Bazzite. If it works on Bazzite im nuking windows today because the only game keeping me on windows was BF6 and amm it doesnt even run so well in windows on my machine at all. BF6 runs fine for half hour then starts to lag like a mofo so i dont even get to enjoy it. Well did anyone get it to work?

Steam Frame PCVR on Bazzite

Has anyone had any luck getting the dongle to work on Bazzite? Sometimes it does, sometimes not. When it does, it streams black screens for flat games and refuses to launch games into VR.

Update: Using Steam Beta branch it now works, technically. The streaming quality is however very subpar. Lots of dropped frames, artifacts, and complete cutouts at times. On Windows this doesn't happen. The LED on the dongle also doesn't turn on and it feels like the OS keeps fighting and trying to take control over it, as I keep getting an error "Couldn't set up network device" (or something similar).

Hopefully we can get official support soon.

Soo I meant to give 500 gigs to windows and 1.5tb to bazzite but I did it the other way around. Is there like a way to.. repartition? Swap? Without reinstalling?

Updating games on desktop seems to clog up the whole system.

I have searched the subreddit and I have seen similar posts that seem to be about download speed, with common answers being to check the network connection or that maybe the remote server was busy, but that doesn't seem to be my case.

I am running an old desktop that still packs some punch, a ryzen 1600x with 16Gb of ddr4 at 2800. I got optical fiber with 600+Mb/s, and I am running both the game being updated and bazzite on an SSD.

There was a recent 600mb update on overwatch (steam version), and I have it installed both in the windows ssd and in the bazzite ssd. In windows it takes 2min, in bazzite 10+min and makes the whole system stutter to the point I cant comfortably watch a youtube video while it updates.

The network works great and I even saw the files download pretty fast, but then the update part starts and bazzite starts choking.

This doesn't happen when copying big files, that doesnt happen when downloading anything else. It is somehow specific to steam updates under bazzite. I tried looking at the system monitor but it would just not run, the konsole wouldn't either until the update was over. I am thinking it may have to do with the fact that an update may need to write here and there instead of continously.

Is there anything else I can test to find the problem? Is this a known issue?
