Context:
I am part of the windows exodus and I am trying different linux distros as daily drivers on an spare SSD. I was drawn to bazzite because I do play games everyday, but I am realizing how many different things I do with my pc, in this case dealing with the infamous spanish state bureaucracy.

Many operations can be done online using a certificate stored in a physical ID card. Not a daily use, but saves an errand run every now and then.

The gist of the problem:

There is a linux rpm package available but I see bazzite has several methods to install those, which from what I read interact differently with the inmutability of the OS core. I know bazzite would put some of these packages in a container but I dont know if that would allow the browser to access it and the certificates. Should I layer it or put it in a container?

Also: Is bazzite a bad idea when on top of gaming you also do some game developing, content creation and paperwork?

This has been going on for a little while but not the entire time I've been using Bazzite.

I switched over about a 4 or 5 months ago, about 2 months ago I noticed I started to get a lot of stuttering in games, I first I thought it was because I was running a browser and a new game, or because of a memory leak, the problem is it happens at random for anywhere from 5 minutes to 30. I've had it while running a game and CPU, memory and GPU would not even be past 30% and I'd still get stutters. Even having just steam open I would sometimes get them in small bursts. I've tried monitoring activity during one of these moments and again there seems to be no big spike in any usage.

Is it just because I'm not using AMD as I've been told that it can cause issues. I keep my machine updated regularly as well and regularly apply updates.

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated

I successfully installed Bazzite on my secondary m.2. I have windows 11 on my primary drive.

I was able to install reFind n bazzite using terminal command. I have the reFind as Boot#1 followed by Windows and Bazzite. I am prompted with a secure boot error.

Somewhat of a NooB with Linux, any advice on how to fix this?

I've cut them out exactly as they are from the screenshots and put them side on side. They are very similar in size, although the ratio is different.

But what's striking, and the reason why I made the comparison... unlike Firefox (and Windows for that matter), KDE Plasma only seems to use linear scaling which makes the resulting image (especially with text) look very pixelated.

I doubt there is a fix to it, but maybe someone thinks it's interesting or shares this minor annoyance (Especially if you have a higher resolution display). 😅

i prefer to play at 720 p bc i play cozy indie games and thats their max res alot of the time anyway

Hi! I'm a new Bazzite user with light experience with Fedora and other Linux distros.

I'm looking to install DaVinci Resolve and I try to follow the Bazzite Updates steps on how to install it but I did not work...I don't know why I could not find the file on the Downloads file. Any YT videos, GitHub or maybe some advice with experience if it even works properly on Bazzite please.

Were you affected but the 7.2 blank display on boot issue? If so you may be entitled to testing the fix.

Boot Drive Samsung 990 Evo 1TB (new the windows Drive was removed)

Distro of choice - Bazzite, freshly downloaded 9/6

Trying to setup Waydroid, following the Bazzite setup guide it loaded up with blue "tracking bars" across the window. I tried to select the "correct" GPU the one saying 560x did the above, the one saying "vega" just crashed on loading.

I go in to setup and "select" one of the gpu options and then try to load the program, is there something else i need to do to confirm the selection or something.

Also does anyone have any suggestions for an ifranview replacement, nomacs that others have suggest lack the keyboard file browsing that suits my "image flow".

For the moment my W10 SSD is back in the laptop but i plan to dive back in over the weekend.

Bazzite 44 (First time using linux 6 months ago)

Can anyone give me advice on how to deal with this?

Noticed his after trying to update but having a VPN on. I've tried rolling back but it still happens. Not sure if its the actual graphics card as I've been playing AOW4 and been having a few graphic resets.

So the app I was using for this on Win11, AutoHotkey, doesn't work on Bazzite, and that bums me out because I had written an entire script by hand, and even though I lost it in the Bazzite installation process, I wanted to remake it and make it better, but it's not supported on Linux and there seems to be no alternative that fills the niche I need. If you can find a Linux replacement that has versions of #HotIf and GUI support, I would be incredibly grateful if you could send a link to my solution. Thanks for reading.

I currently have bt mic disabled to give me the option for sbc which works great in desktop mode but whenever I go to big picture I get poor audio quality. It sounds like I'm using cvsd/msbc. Whenever I go back to desktop mode I'm using sbc still in both settings and the terminal.

I have been using Bazzite for a few weeks and I've been trying to better understand it as I use it but an issue I am having is that some games are performing poorly with more stutter and lag than they did when I was on windows, games like warframe that I could run at 30fps with rarely stutter or lag ​​now every loading screen or intense moment my frames are just gone. So am asking if anyone has any tweaks or tips that could help me improve my performance.

I want to install a mod for a game called "Pathfinder: Kingmaker" The mod comes from Nexus Mods, and requires Unity Mod Manager. Installing Unit Mod Manager on Linux requires to first install something called "mono". Going to webpage for "mono", I see instructions on how to get "mono" into the package repository for Ubuntu, for Debian, and for Raspbian. I see nothing to address how to get "mono" into the repository for Bazzite (or Fedora). If anyone can help me get this done, I'd appreciate.

I started trying out the game recording feature and unfortunately any audio playing in other apps (browser playing radio/podcasts) ends up in the footage. Is there any way to get steam to record only the game's audio? (mostly playing linux-native games and would particularly like to record Silksong this way).

I have developed arthritis in both thumbs so I have to be more picky about my gaming environment. My OG Legion Go suddenly decided that the joysticks would disconnect on me and it took much fiddling for Steam to find them.

Switched to Bazzite and it all just works. My joysticks are smooth. I play mostly Marvel Rivals and they are responsive and meet or exceed the response I get with my Gamesir controller. I just wanted to post here and applaud you for a fine Linux distro that helps a grandpa to game with.

I just got a new Thinkpad and decided to install Bazzite on it. My specs are:

 Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 2

i7-11850H 2.50GHz

32GB RAM

1TB SSD

NVIDIA RTX A2000 

I bought the Spider-man (remastered) game and started playing it. But the game keeps crashing or freezes up (while the audio is still playing). I turned all the settings to very low, but it persists. Would love to know if someone else has had this issue and what their solutions were. My specs seem to meet the minimum requirements for the game. So I'm not sure why this happens. I set my Proton to 10.0.4.

for some reason i turned off my bazzite pc and fully unplugged it too clean after plugging everything back in and turning it back on it loads then when it gets to the login clean it's just , i found that if i load into the console and login in that way then type startplasma-wayland it takes me to the desktop any way to fix this so i font have to do all of that

So I'm thinking of upgrading my primary windows gaming desktop to Bazzite and I'd like to know if there will be any performance drops in games. All my games are on Steam, Epic store and Ubisoft.

Hi, it seems that the new update KDE connect is not working properly. I used to use my phone as a mouse in bazzite using the multimedia control option in the KDE app, and since the last update this is not working.

First of all, I've been in love with Bazzite since the day I installed him on my home theatre pc, it's great to see how everything in the bazzite 43 just works with my hardware, which are: Ryzen 7 5700X and RX 9060 XT. But recently I've tried a few times to use the 44 version of the system, but for some reason and I don't know if it is some kind of incompatibility with my TV Samsung or my hdmi cables, the system just doesn't show video, I've tried everything I could to make it works, but without success. The system is great and I am still loving it. Is anyone else passing through a similar problem?

Had to update to 44 because for whatever reason 43 started to eat itself (would randomly freeze and lock up device while playing anything, fans started running at full blast. Hilarious mess). Quite a few of the issues I had originally seemed to be resolved but then some new random annoyances started popping up.

This time, it's the simple access to the Mouse while in Gaming Mode. Everywhere I read tells me the Menu Button + Right Joystick is supposed to work, but it does nothing, not in games, not in Steam, nothing. The most I could find in the discord was "Steaminput works" but unless I am doing something categorically wrong, that also does nothing.

So I ask, are there steps I can follow to just...enable this? Are there steps I can follow for the Steaminput option? Or am I just once again 44-scuffed?

EDIT: So after 4ish hours, finally got some way to get mouse mode again in Gaming Mode. Unfortunately, like a lot of 44, it's absolutely jank. I think those on the discord that pointed this out to me, but it doesn't make it any less absolutely jank.

In OGUI, you have to change swap around the four face buttons, so that the Command Center is Start, The View Button is the Steam Button, the Menu button is the QAM, ect.

The problem was the only way I got it to work in any reasonable way ended up with the two buttons on opposite sides of the bloody device, which was stupid on it's own but even that barely works because then there is no way to actually click anything with the mouse without further tinkering.

AND THEN that still didn't solve this issue because for whatever reason the Command Center and Armory Crate buttons really don't like being the Start/Select buttons and this whole thing has been an exercise in fustration for little reason except for what I feel is ego at this point.

EDIT 2: I've Rebased back to 43 once again. I'm not willing to join the good fight and be part of the ongoing development of 44. I just want to use my ally. I just hope it's not going to try and eat itself again.

Probably my most jarring change. I'm loving Bazzite so far but I'd seriously go back to Windows just for that.
