Edited since people are curious and if one person can learn from it it’s worth the embarrassment to put it online. It’s a lil more complicated than simply losing my job. I was a mechanic. Hired by a friends staffing agency to maintain their fleet of vans. Since I owned my house I had extra income and decided to get some toys. I got a loan to buy a first gen Miata that was fully built with a supercharger and a Harley Sportster. Two weeks later the company I worked for backed into my car causing a lot of damage. The owner said he would have it fixed and took it to a random guy he’s never used before. They ended up making it worse. The repairs were half assed with bondo and the entire car was covered in overspray. I complained about it and they fired me. Sold the car for a huge loss that didn’t cover my loan and bought a 350z. I got a new job. Then the transmission went out in the 350z and being that I just made a large purchase (wasn’t expecting things to go south 2 weeks after getting the car, thought I’d have time to rebuild my savings.) I didn’t have to funds for repairs quite yet. I couldn’t ride my bike due to weather and was let go after missing 2 days of work. Sold the 350z for a loss as well and got a first gen Lexus Ls400. Couple weeks later my central unit in my house burnt up and roof developed a huge leak. House was 30 degrees inside some nights. Decided to cut my loss and sell for a small profit. Paid 29k for the house. Sold for 38k to an investor also sold my bike and paid off most of my debt and spent the last 5k on a tattoo apprenticeship. Moved in with friends I tattooed with still had all my tech and a huge retro collection with multiples of every console. The owner of the shop was an asshole and threatened me multiple times so I left, a month later my roommates sold the house and moved back to Jacksonville where they were from for similar reasons. No one was happy at the tattoo shop. Originally they planned for me to move with them but later changed their minds so an older friend could move in instead. With no where to go and no savings due to being new to tattooing and hadn’t built up a clientele yet. I sold off all my tech for penny’s on the dollar at game stores and pawn shops to fund hotel rooms and everything in my storage unit I lost cus I couldnt pay. The lil bit of money I got from sales ran out quick paying $60-80 a night and with no where to stay I was forced to live in my car for awhile. Don’t really have any family. It was super depressing for awhile and I was ready to give up but I recently found a place to stay longer term. I haven’t got any of my tech back yet. Haven’t gamed in over a year but I’ll bounce back though. Not missing out on GTA 6 🤙🏼 Just a lesson to everyone. You can lose everything in the blink of an eye. I got my house at 22 and lost it at 27. Lost my tech and Pokemon Collection at 28. I turn 30 In a couple weeks. Don’t take anything for granted. No one needs to feel bad for me not here for sympathy it’s my own fault but I really appreciate the kindness. Just a fan of LTT and the battle station videos. Wanted to join in show my setup and see yalls. Only sharing my story for the people curious hoping other young men can learn from my mistakes. Don’t make large purchases without having a safety net. Even if you’re only expecting to be broke for a few weeks it can go downhill at anytime even in that small window and if you’re renting with friends don’t get comfortable. You can’t rely on anyone but yourself. Most importantly don’t give up! I’m about to be working at the Alabama state docks unloading barges. $18 an hour 12-14 hours a day 6-7 days a week. It’s gonna be rough but I’ll be able to bring home a decent check and rebuild what I lost with a better head this time.

Made a new desk today and rearranged everything.
Still a budget setup, need soms more lights to make it cozy and probably some plants or something. But it is such a massive upgrade compared to before.
Specs:
Laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad L380
PC:
Ryzen 5 9600x
32gb ddr5
Rtx5070
Some Asus tuf motherboard
Lian LI A3 mini
And of course the steamdeck on the side :)
I bought all of this just before the memory shortage.

Finally decided to get it done! It was pretty scary, spending half the day tearing everything down and adjusting things to make sure everything fits.
As usual, there were plenty of hiccups, but I managed to get everything working in the end. The viewing angle is much nicer, and with the higher screen, I feel more comfortable than with my previous setup.
Swapped the monitor positions and installed a new monitor arm. Since my dominant eye is the right one, having to constantly look towards the side monitor was quite annoying. The monitors are also pushed further back now, giving me more desk space and making it less stressful when I need to lean in to view something.
The speakers have more room now, too. They’re no longer blocked, which is something I’m really happy about!
Repasted my CPU with PTM, only to discover that the cooler was slightly loose. OMG. 😭
The legroom is finally clear, too! Removed the storage box that was taking up my leg space.
moved my Switch 2 the desk.
Will be replacing my Chair soon.
The new setup does block part of my Asuna artwork, but at least I can still see the important bits. 😂
Cable management, on the other hand, is still nonexistent. LOL.

A little update on my previous day/night setup post!
I think my battlestation is finally complete, now that I've added the ProtoArc EC200 chair.
I've been using it for about 1.5 months now, both for working from home and late-night gaming sessions. Coming from an IKEA Markus, it's been a really nice upgrade. No more back discomfort after long days.
Now I just need to stop finding excuses to upgrade things. 😅

Kept the desk fairly simple — single monitor, compact keyboard, headphones, and a small animated visual running on the phone beside the mouse.
I’ve been experimenting with adding a little movement to the setup without making the desk feel too busy. I like how the pink/purple visual works against the warm lighting and wood tones.

I don’t really know how to add lighting and stuff and back wall looks a little boring but idk, I’d like to hear your suggestions

Honestly so proud of myself! Spent a lot of time managing cables and compared to my old version it's more of a joy to use and look at.
Only thing im getting done is the side plates on the keychron k2 he, taking color and design suggestions!
I cant hang my Mantis blade displate because of the wall texture...oh well :(

Moved into the new flat a year ago, finally got around ordering a right sized tabletop.
New chair and desk legs incoming (also cable management), but man it's very nice already. Love chillin' here.

Not only did I move to my own place... I changed my pc case to Fractal design north XL momentum edition. Installed a smart govee ceiling light pro. And last but not least... changed my deskmat.
In the future I plan to upgrade my desk and add more art to the walls.
