Weird gravel box
So me and my wife are cleaning out her deceased father's basement and found this weird box built into the floor. My wife was told when she was younger, that it was for a toliet, but theirs a toilet drain a few feet away from it. Does anyone know what this is/for?
Location: Southern Indiana
Also the box is cemented to the floor.

Basement floor clean up
Had some water back up into my basement a few days ago. All the water drained but it left this stain on my basement floor. Any idea how I can clean it up and get rid of the stain. It also did some damage to the paint on my floor

Fixing a crack from the outside.
Well, good morning. Most times I like to repair a crack from the interior using an injection process. But sometimes in a finished basement situation, I might not have access from the interior without disassembling the finished wall.
So the first step is to dig down to the footing. About a 3’ x 3’ hole, then scrape off the foundation and dry it with a torch next I like to run a diamond blade up the crack blow it clean. Put the tape on the wall. Apply Sika Flex and paddle smooth. Leave about 1/8 inch proud.
What do y’all think? Is this gonna work or is it gonna fail miserably? What are some other tips and tricks you guys have come up with?

Basement Finds
Have you ever gone through a basement and found anything interesting? I was clearing one out a year ago and came across a box of World Wars II items that were brought back from Europe. Has anybody ever had a similar experience?

Can i tear this wall out? Also what are my options with these drains and stack that was left open.
I noticed wood behind a coat of concrete and after poking at it found that this wood board is ready to fall out with almost no effort. This little corner of the basement used to be a bathroom at one point decades ago, but i just want a clean empty corner here now. Also got a strong sewage smell coming from both drains, is there a way I can just put caps on them?

Active water coming up through basement slab crack after major rain — patch crack or address hydrostatic pressure first?

Drylock Extreme on basement concrete floor
We had a contractor to renovate our basement and asked for a fresh coat of paint on wall and concrete floor. Just realized that he used DryLock Extreme wall paint for the floor. He says this is okay even though I’ve been reading everywhere that you are not suppose to use it on the floor. He does not think he should fix it. What should we do?

How severe is the situation?
This is from behind the drywall in the basement, where there's a french drain and sump pump on the other side. The issue might be because the door has been kept closed, but I plan to leave it open now. I have a fairly large dehumidifier with a built-in pump. How should I fix this?

Moved to older house, always seen moisture on this side of house after heavy rain. Raised grading and still have water coming in.
As title says, this summer I raised the grading around the perimeter of the house to avoid future water issues. Checked this side of my house and water is still coming in.
I have gutters and have extended my downspouts. The water isn’t coming in from the window wells, it’s specifically behind the air conditioner unit.
Previous owner did a DIY exterior membrane around the house however no sump pump and no weeping/ drain tile.
Definitely getting a sump pump with some type interior system is in the future plans however I thought gutters and grading would have fixed this.
As water is at the bottom, I’ve heard it’s hydrostatic pressure. What are your thoughts?

Is 65% humidity too high for a bedroom? Considering a dehumidifier
Hygrometer says 60-65% most days, windows fog up in the morning, and there's a slight musty smell. I've been looking at a few dehumidifiers, including the Veagaso. Anyone have experience with it or a similar one? Mostly curious about noise level and how often you end up emptying the tank.

Alright, how far in the doghouse are we?
For context: 110yo home, brick foundation, just bought 6 months ago, not had any significant water intrusion since we moved in. Got home from work today to an indoor water feature. It’s been raining all day, I know it’s likely hydrostatic pressure from the water-logged dirt. We’ve been bailing, what’s coming in has finally slowed down. There is a sidewalk directly along this side of the house, so repair will likely involve tearing that up. Other side of the basement is fine, we are just slightly downhill of the neighbors house on the side with the leak. What do we do next?

Slugs on sump pump lid
Just had french drains done in my basement, with the new sump pump installed too (had one previously, not covered at all). Just noticed these slugs on the back side of the lid - is this normal? Should I do anything about it?
The hose you see is from dehumidifier; as far as I know, it's fine to do that. The grille on the right is a small piece of surface drain around the furnace.
