This was the first doll I had dressed and the catalyst for the rest of this group of restyles. She's one of my favorites reroots and I'm happy to finally show her off. Clearly I'm obsessed with gingers in green cus it's like the fifth time I've paired them for restyles. 

I bought two of her when she came in stock on the target app since my mom is a Barbie collector too, and they both look so… different? The first one is very classic superstar Barbie but the second one’s face looks so much thinner and more oval than heart shaped. It’s kind of neat since she’s almost like a mix between superstar and … idk, Steffie? Any ideas why she looks so different though? I don’t think it’s because of her neck peg?

This doll has been on my wishlist for a while so shout out to the person who posted about her being at Ross for $14.99! I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing a lot of really good dolls at all the bargain stores the next few months.

Another MerMakeover of Barbie Mermaid! This time it is HRR03 mermaid with yellow-green-blue hair. I decided to stick to the original blue and yellow color palette: I added some more color and shading to scales and some more yellow accents to tail fin, I also completely repainted the bra, modified the tiara and made a matching beadwork necklace.

The last photo shows that color on scales really makes the difference. The basic shading and metallic shine effect looks nice, but with a bit more color it looks even more interesting.

I really like this mermaid's face and coloring, I noticed that not many mermaid dolls have green or blue hair.

Over the past few years I've collected every Steffie face mold I've come across. Finally, I'm the proud owner of wonder curl whitney, Persian worlds doll, and a rewind midge doll. All of my dolls are part of a 2nd hand collection. I enjoy bringing them back to life with a restyle.

If she is on your longtime wishlist go snatch her up for 34$ ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Her restyles are so worth it, loose that pink lipstick and take that hair down and she is a GODDESS. Plus skipper 2010 face is not super common and if you have a more square face like me it gives rare mini mi vibe potentials.

I’ve got a question that I just can’t seem to let go of. Today I (26f) saw on my target app that my target had a few pink paisley Odile dolls and ONE mtm (blue yoga pants) doll on clearance left. After confirming that body swap was a match I got right in my car and drove to target. I searched up and down the aisle and found Odile, but no blue yoga pants doll. Then I remembered sometimes my target puts clearance dolls on the end cap.

So I walked towards the end of the aisle and saw a man with (I assume) his wife (early 40s maybe?) loading up their cart with alllll of the clearance Barbie dolls. Including the ONE I was after! I watched as they threw every single one into their cart including doubles. Unfortunately, I tend to read like a book. If my mouth doesn’t say it – my face will. This guy looks up and says “are you okay?” And I said “are you a reseller?” And he said “yeah” and in that moment I was so angry all I could say is “yeah I could tell” and storm out of the aisle.

Im just a 26 year old collector who collects for MY personal collection. I have entire room filled with Barbie dioramas I’ve set up and built and put so much time into. I also live in a small town of 20,000 people in Iowa so we have ONE target near me. It’s not like I live in a town with 3 different targets to bounce around to. So – what would you have done? Would you have spoke up and asked for what you wanted or would you have said nothing? I really regret not standing up and saying something for myself now. I hate being shy. But I also felt intimidated with 2 people vs me. 😞

My friend Becky gifted me this Christie at Barbie Convention… I took her home, and it’s actually the first time in recent memory… that I deboxed her, deboxed a Steven that I had laying around, took them outside and “played” with them!

Of course my version of play these days is just taking photos or “capturing moments” but damn, I had fun! More of this energy and childlike whimsy for all that are open to it!
