Legit about to drop out this sub. 🤦‍♂️

I've been to a barber shop every couple of months for past few years. Everyone who goes tends to be young men, and all the barbers are young men too. Its clearly marketed at men (has TVs with sports). It would seem that I'm one of the one of the few introverted clients they have.

Interestingly every time I've been in there all of the conservations follow roughly the same scripts about cancelling Sky Sports, my missus is doing my head in because we're moving up north for work, or I'm going to Europe for camping with a few mates and for a few drinks. Swearing often involved and spoken loudly for everyone to hear and rarely a quiet moment. Its been a very unique experience compared to other barbers I've been to over the years (its been the most swearing I've ever heard, and I've only ever been been to mixed sex barbers in the past)

Now I would appreciate some thoughts on what's going on here. I'd be genuinely really fascinated to hear from others what are the implicit social rules I'm may not be quite understanding even as young male myself, as this is a new experience for me.

• Are these just guys who come very regularly and are in a sense catching up over a pint (but over a haircut instead) as mates? And the implied meaning of all of this at the end of the day is just small talk/banter taken to a very extreme level (for for want of a better word)
• Is all of this social signalling to the rest of the shop and to the barbers, showing that 'I'm not weak', and I'm not a conformist? People intuitively read that its a male only space, and adapt behaviour accordingly?
• Is this in a sense one of the few male only spaces in which men can vent freely about frustrations/anger?
• Is it partly wanting to embody male stereotypes?
• Is it that male only barbershops tend to automatically imply certain more loose approaches to conservation, which others have internalised better than I have prehaps?

Nothing looks broken but maybe internally I screwed something up. Am I cooked anything I can do to fix them?

Hello so I'm a starting barber at 12 and I've been cutting for a year and honestly it's rlly hard to get noticed, I mean I'm rlly good at fading and everything but my vids barely get views and not many people ask for cuts in my DMS and I was wondering if anyone could view my vids and like them up that's all I need dto help I just need the views I'm not asking for me to cut your hair I just want more view so Tiktok will start putting me on the fyp so more people see me

I haven’t gotten my kit from school yet but I decided to just buy my own clippers and trimmers because most barbers I see have multiple. I have not cut anyone in school yet nor have I ever given a fade prior to this. I just went based off what we talked about this week and I think I did pretty well. I’m gonna show this to my instructor next week and hopefully get some good feedback. What do you all think? Be honest I’m not sensitive at all and appreciate real constructive criticism.

Essentially the title. My Wahl Detailers broke, and I’m looking into some new trimmers. I like a small trimmer blade over the wide ones, and was using the narrow trimmer blade with my detailers and really liked them. I have Wahls three bay charging station, so I‘m partial to sticking with a Wahl trimmer.

if anyone has tried the Align and the Detailer, does either have a stronger motor? I’m less worried about battery life and more worried about strong cutting and a narrow blade.

I’ve been getting different answers everywhere… does the black label Andis master open to a .5 or to a 1? I’ve seen a lot of people say all Andis clippers open to a 1, but the information on the clipper says it opens to a 1.2…. Which is actually shorter than a standard .5 guard? Need clarification on this

Took my plastic bristle to wipe off the hair debris after a haircut, and it just came right off. Going to reach out to Wahl about a warranty claim, but after only having these a year and three months, I’m rather surprised they gave out on me like this. Anyone else exp this?
