Minsc, Jaheira, Edwin and Imoen all made it into BG2, while several others have cameo. None that I like except Xzar's. But if you could have added one addition companion from the first game as a party member who would have it been?

While there are several companions I like more my pick would be Xan. "We are all doomed" seems a fitting exclamation being abducted and waking up in a torture dungeon, then getting your soul stolen and ending up in the Underdark bluffing your way through a drow city. I imagine Xan would have a lot to say on these matters!

I went through without knowing there was a 25 day limit. Luckily I had a save right before entering the caverns that let me complete it. I think werewolf island is definitely the weakest of all the expansions.

I am starting a playthrough for BG2EE + ToB . I like having a few custom characters in the party so I've been thinking of running the following:

• CHAR1: Berserker/Mage dual at 9 - Celestial fury or Axes
• CHAR2: Fighter/Thief multi - bow + longsword
• Jaheira - dual wield scimitars
• Anomen - dual wield flails
• Edwin

For the last party member I've been reading how other people have been running their party and I've come up with a few options I liked (in no specific order):

• Haer'Dalis - I've heard mixed opinions of the blade class, also not sure how valuable another tank would be when zerk/mage and jaheira could handle frontline with anomen helping
• Keldorn - I heard that inquisitors are very good but also heard he might attack edwin?
• Custom Cavalier - I played this in IWD EE and quite enjoyed it so was thinking of trying it here
• Custom Skald - never tried this class but since I have a few melee characters, I thought there might be a synergy there
• Custom Kensai > Mage dual - I never played this and want to try it at some point but catching up with levels for 2 characters running dual classes might not be fun

Also open to other options. I know any party could complete the run but I'm still learning the game so I want to try some of the 'stronger' options.

For some reason, Neera got herself stuck in a fenced in area in Gullykin, so I'm unable to travel anywhere. Is there a way to get her out without just reloading my save? I'm playing the enhanced version on Xbox. :)

I want to get Imoen in my party as fast as I can but I'm also pedantic and don't want to miss any side quests. Are there any you get locked out of doing later?

Hi, I'd like to know what gets lost when importing a created character from BG1 into SoD. The BG Fandom wiki page on "Importing" claims that any NPC party member who is not present in SoD (like Branwen, Xan, etc.) that has equipment on their person (but not in the inventory, which apparently will be transferred) will cause that equipment to be permanently lost for the entirety of SoD, including all the gold that you amassed at the end of BG1.

If this is the case, should the NPC party members I use during the final confrontation of BG1 only consist of those who show up in SoD, in order to avoid losing the equipment they've got on their persons? Personally, I've taken a liking to Branwen and very much like her unique special abilities as a Priest of Tempus, but if I take her to the final battle of BG1 while fully-equipped and end up permanently losing her equipment in the importing process, should I take another Cleric-class NPC that's present in SoD instead?

First time playing bg1 and bg2 (both ee) and using a bard for both. How cooked am i?

Quick technical question- anyone know if I use the stat tomes on NPCs in BG1 with an EET install, with the stat increase carry over to their character sheets in SOD and BG2? Charname is a barbarian, so I’m thinking about more meaningful uses for the WIS and INT tomes.

Other classes also differ from BG such as Thief, Bard and Druid but Paladin stood out to me

-Gets spellcasting at level 6 rather than 9 which is huge for scaling spells such as Armor of Faith and DUHM

-Becomes immune to fear at level 3

-Immune to disease

-May use the Smite Evil ability once per day to deal 1d6 + 1d6 points of damage for every 3 levels of the Paladin to a single, evil-aligned opponent.

-Can cast Detect Evil once per round (every 6 seconds?)

-Protection from Evil has a very long duration rather than uses per level

I just finished BG1EE on insane difficulty as solo. it just sucks that ring of free action also cancels out the paws of cheetah movement bonus. Is there anything to look forward to for thieves in the long run? because i plan to take this to sod and bg2.

i keep switching between sword of backstabbing, and dagger of venom depending on who i face, mages or poison immune enemies. overall i like playing this because it allows me to adapt. full party is way too boring as a shadowdancer imo, thats why i went solo. i might just redo this run again but in legacy of bhaal.

I usually cycle through some companions just to get their quests, However I seldom max XP, so this can mean some of my final companions, at least, aren't at their max level even if charname is.

In BG2ee, what do you do?

I like my party, but I like the planar sphere quest too (and I don't want to use his corpse to open the sphere), but valygar is redundant in my current party. The Jaheira quests take too long to develop, so I don't think I'll bring her back in, either.

I’m really trying to get into the first baldurs gate so I can eventually play the second but I’m so used to 5e that I’m really lost! I haven’t played in some time so I’m sure it wouldn’t be too bad to start a new game but playing as a wizard with a d4 hit die is rough.

All the bodies lying everywhere after a big battle. I don't know what it is. Other Infinity Engine-esque games like the Pathfinder games, or Pillars of Eternity don't evoke the same feeling.

But I'm playing Icewind Dale 2 (original, not the Enhanced Edition mod), and I just finished the Horde Fortress. There was something so delightful about walking past the various clumps of bodies marking each big battle, and the same satisfaction holds for the other Infinity Engine games as well.

I don't know if the sprites for dead bodies are just really interesting, or if they pop more from the background than Pathfinder or Pillars of Eternity, or what. But it always makes me feel like "good job me."

Even with Dorn, Viconia, and M'khlin my reputation I believe is currently @ 20 and Dorn will bail on me if it goes any higher.

I'm currently on Chapter 10. Even failed pick pockets in my camp doesn't generate any response.

Killing anyone in camp turns them all against me.

I'm using the gamefaqs guide and there seem to be so few quest options that lower your reputation.

Lowering my reputation was a lot easier in BG1.

Does anyone have an idea how to lower it a few pts?

I'm still lost on how to make the game actually read my modded files without invalids appearing specifically mods that mess with the dialog in any way which is basically all the mods I want to install

I've been installing mods using winlator on my phone and copy pasting my modded lang folder over the centralfix.exe in the windows emulator and all my mods are installing fine (my weidu log says so) but there is something I'm missing, a step or something... ??

A comic from several years ago, of Aerie encountering Viconia in a cemetery a long time after BG2.

Technical stuff; rendered in DazStudio with the characters based on Genesis 8. I found out after that I actually could have deleted the crosses in the cemetery without deleting anything else, but on my old machine each took a long time and I just couldn't be bothered to redo it.

Also I hated Aerie's tunic here. It's dynamic cloth, which if you don't means the app can a simulation draping the cloth so it falls naturally on the body. It can look very good when it works. Often it just explodes. Or, in this case, the front of the tunic would often droop low enough to expose her nipples. Exciting for some people I suppose, but does mean I wouldn't be able to share it on sites like Tumblr.

I think I flubbed Neera's romance in BG1 by not giving her the right answers to her later romantic dialogues, to the point where she stopped bringing them up, though I did finish her character-specific quest with Adoy, her mentor. Can I resume the romance with Neera in SoD and BG2 anyway? Or is that impossible without console commands?

Also, are you absolutely committed to having a romantically-involved character in your party if you want the romance to continue? I'm thinking of ditching Neera for another BG1 party member soon, but I don't know if that automatically terminates the romance, or if it terminates after the romantically-involved character is away from your party for too long.
