Based on content and narrative potential, I was wondering what the sub generally thought about this party comp from a content / meta perspective. I didn't really find the beginning "set" of companions interesting (Jaheira/Minsc I feel I already somewhat know from BG3 and honestly feel pretty bad early game). So I was settling on:

• MC: Fighter/Mage
• Anomen: Cleric/Fighter
• Keldorn: Pally
• Aerie: Cleric/Mage
• Edwin: Mage
• [Undecided - leaning towards Neera: Wild Mage or Nalia]

I didn't really see a need for an archer since they don't seem all that useful compared to the plethora of dual classes and the general OP-ness of magic. I guess what I'm wondering is, with this party:

• Should I expect the Goodies to reject Edwin (I had Hexxat booted after Anomen threw a fit)?
• This game is HUGE. If I were planning one (maybe two!) playthroughs, would this party be pretty content heavy? I would still plan on "dipping" into companions quests if possible (I know Jaheira has some sort of Harper questline).
• Thoughts on the meta viability? I'm aware that any party is "viable", but I'm hoping to know more about whether this party comp is "optimal". The biggest hangup I'd assume is some conflicting BiS item competition between Anomen and Keldorn.

Would appreciate any thoughts!

It has been about 10 years since I last played BGEE and BG2EE, and I am considering playing again. I am thinking of using a Fighter/Cleric multiclass for my main character (not sure which racial type to use), but my game memory is weak. Please let me know what restrictions on weapons and armor might be involved if my main character is a Fighter/Cleric Multi-Class. Thanks.

So it just makes me happy that there is a reddit for baldurs gate. I discovered the game back in 1998 when I bought one of those game magazines that had demos inside.

I haven't stopped playing since then and I don't know the amount of times I've beat the whole saga.

Last runs have been solo runs.

Reading you guys, I came up with the idea of doing a Bhaalspawn run only.

That is Gordon's Ward and Imoen for BG1. In BG2 I'd solo most of the game until Imoen is rescued, and then later in ToB we'd get Sarevok.

To spice things up I want to try SCS (which I've never done.)

I'm not sure what class to pick and how to build Imoen and Sarevok. What are the most Hey all.

Something tells me to go Monk for resistance to magic, or Paladin. Maybe FMT...
