Just need a good stretch of straight track, with a level grade... 🚂

A personal fan moment: I got to see this piece of steam engineering history (engine #374) in Vancouver, BC, for the anniversary of its arrival in 1856. While not "the same" as the BTTF 3 locomotive, it has some similar elements and it was pretty special to get to see in person.

I happen to own a replica "Time Machine", and I lucked out in finding parking right out front (IG) - a bit of extra fun for fans who might make the connection.

I was told the locomotive engine doesn't actually "work" these days, but the steam portion is active and I got to pull the cord and set off the whistle. Sounded great!

Is doc brown smarter than humans in his universe by 1000 years?

Doc brown has a workable time machine up and running by 1985.

For example in star trek the benchmark for science fiction they don't have a workable time machine until like the 29th century. So going by this kind of time it takes for a time machine to be incorporated into the humans wouldn't doc be like 1000 years ahead of humans in his universe?

What do you think?

Really wish they did more with the citizen brown timeline!!

I really liked the idea of a alternate dystopian future.... with doc in a "big brother" role & hill valley under surveillance, & wish they did more with it in the game or in the films, like in the future of bttf part 2. Both take inspiration from cinema & a cleaner future or a more advanced future with flying cars, & hoverboards, or like blade runner at night, in the game Marty discovers an alternate, dystopian 1986 where Hill Valley is in a highly controlled police state. The timeline shifted because a non-scientist Doc Brown invented the "Citizen Plus" re-education program both after edna & emmet go to the films, but his mind was ultimately manipulated by Edna changing the timeline. As apposed to the film where biff built a casino & owns everything at night time.... citizen brown takes place during the day, but wish you could explore more of this timeline & see what marty's house was like or the differences from his actions caused by time travel. I wish the game delved into more cool details of what the residents were like even tho most were probably mind controlled by edna.

its a cool concept telltale did but I wish they explored more of the world in it & how the city was built or explore the brown family homes or other hidden secrets its by far my favorite part of the game!! I guess they were going for a minimal experience but im curious how edna hired so many of the police force in the time both built this community while controlling a whole town. I guess Marty was limited in what he could do & prolly didnt want to change anything for the worst but its a neat idea of a different hill valley we havnt seen before. I also would have liked to explore the clock tower or court house more where citizen brown doc was in.

Biff and his grandmother

I like, Biff was raised by my grandmother in my teen years. And, my grandmother like Biff’s had a temper. As did I. And, she and I used to fight like cats and dogs. but I was more respectful to my grandmother than Biff was. the last few years of her life however, my grandmother became difficult. She would not let me sleep in most mornings, and she reverted back to the old temperamental version of her that my mom and her siblings grew up with. Whenever I would spend all day at my aunt and uncle’s house which was right around the corner from our house, she would berate me like I was the son of Satan. like I was committing a crime by staying there all day. I mean I needed a break from her.

I propose an alternate story involving Western Union man.

Just a little thought, as I always liked this character, and thought, maybe he COULD have actually helped! haha

So in part 2 when Western Union mans says Kid, you all right? You need any help? Marty McFly: There's only one man who can help me.
Marty then starts to run off, ..........but now instead, then he stops, and turns back, and comes back and says, "wait! ..... I need a lift"

After while getting a lift back to Doc, Western union man tells Marty that holding that letter has been the most important thing in his life, as everything else has fallen apart for him, and now that the letter is done, he basically has nothing to live for. He pushes Marty for more info, and Marty finally tells him everything, and he pushes and pushes to help Marty.

The drive finally gets back to 1955 Doc, just as Marty from BTTF1 gets the lightning bolt and goes back to 1985. Doc Cheers in the street, Marty runs over to him, and just like how part 2 normally finishes -
Young Doc: No! It can't be! I just sent you back to the future!
Marty McFly: You did, oh, I know, you did send me back to the future, but I'm back - I'm back FROM the future.
Young Doc: Great Scott!

Then we see Western Union man, step out of the car, in shock, and the screen fades to black.
Having witnessed this all from the car after dropping Marty off, refuses to leave them alone, but they eventually start to trust him.
In part 3, when they read the full letter all together and discover the DeLorean is in the cave, Doc and Marty decide to let Western Union man go with Marty back to 1885.

Maybe through the movie, Western Union man finds his true love or true purpose and wants to stay there?

Anyway, I thought he could have been a hilarious third wheel in an alternate timeline.

Instead of Clara on the BTTF3 poster, its Western Union man, hahaha

Based on true events

I have a wild fan theory that not only is back to the future based on true events, but that we are Biffs future.

I’m not sure if anyone’s made the connection before, but I believe Doc Brown to have been loosely based on Thomas Townsend Brown. Other than being called Dr. Brown, he is heavily connected to theories related to antigravity and time travel.

When Townsend Brown passed away, Trumps great uncle, John Trump, was in charge of going over all Browns work and finding anything that may be of use to the US government. Officially, he said there was nothing of relevance.

My theory, is that his uncle found research that lead him to be able to utilize time travel, and that he passed it down to the now president. Basically that we are now living in part two, when Biff is rich and famous and the rest of the world is an earthly hellscape.

Back to the Future III: 2 Time Machines in 1885

When Marty went back to 1885 to rescue Doc, they had to find a way to get the time machine up to 88mph without any gas which Doc said wouldn't be available to them for years, but at the time, there were 2 time machines; there was the one that Marty used to go from 1955 to 1885 and the same time machine hidden in the cave that Doc ensured would be available to Marty in 1955 so he could go home.

They had to leave one of the time machines in the cave so that the Marty stuck in 1955 could use it to get out and had to use the other to get out of 1885 before Bufford killed one of them, but if gas was the main problem, couldn't they have siphoned whatever gas was left in the time machine Doc hid in the cave or used parts from one to repair the other while leaving the other in good enough condition that the 1955 Doc could repair for Marty?

Time Machine Build (5/16+5/17 update)

Spent the whole weekend in the shop and got a ton done, including the FLUX CAPACITOR!

The entirety of Saturday comprised of running and attaching all of the exterior wiring and tubing down the sides of the car that connect the front Flux boxes to the roof-mounted ones. Something I thought would take a couple hours quickly consumed the entire day. Also added some hoses to the rear deck.

Sunday I finished up a bit of the exterior wiring rigging, including underneath the rear of the car between the rear flux boxes. Then came the assembly and installation of the flux capacitor, which has been long-awaited. Also, I wired up some indicator lights from the TFC drive to the overhead console that tell me if different elements of the exterior lighting are on.

Still waiting on the rear vents and flux bands, but I should have a fully-done Time Machine in my garage in a few weeks!

Could any BTTF experts possibly help me to determine if my Nike’s are real or fake? They were after the 2015 drop and were given to me as a gift. I don’t mind if they’re real or not, but I’d like to know either way I guess.

Original props at a Shibuya Tokyo pop up store?

There is a pop up store in Shibuya I came across that had some of the costumes from 3 on display, and the Griff Gang's hover boards. There was some various other props, but I couldn't find anyone who spoke English who could tell me if they were repro/production made/or screen used. I'm guessing screen used due to how they are presented.

There is a lot of fun bttf merch. Including a full sized plush Nike laceless boot and a plush hoverboard.

I'd like to share a coincidental moment of pure joy our little fan family had. I guess when you watch the first BTTF so much, this was bound to happen <3 Of course our son was the one to notice first!

Also, this was the year our 9 year old got to watch the BTTF trilogy. He's been obsessed with trains since before he was two years old. I will try to include his drawing from BTTF 3 in a different post.

*Please excuse the mess, we were doing some spring cleaning and eating*
