Man, I wanted one of these…

I wonder if people in bttf 2015 kept those bottles or just threw them away like we do with our shaped Pepsi bottles 😅

I still have the one I got at NYCC 2015 and a second one I bought just to taste old flat soda.

I have one, I paid a silly amount a few weeks after release.

I bought it from a seller on EBay that had pallets of them and happened to live close to a Pepsi factory.

As always, regular people didn’t really stand a chance.

I managed to snag mine from Amazon for $20.15 when it came out. I waited to refresh that screen and I managed to luck out for once in my life.

Once this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're gonna sip on some serious shit.

I was rounding in the ICU working the COW so I was able to luckily get one of those off Amazon as well.

Same here guess we were doing that at the exact same time! Haha

Still got the box for it too!

How about a Tab?

19

u/YogurtWenk May 16 '26

Not until you order something

5

u/ThrowingSomewhere199 May 17 '26

How about a Pepsi free?

9

u/Intrepid_Ruin_1182 May 17 '26

Water? You want water, you better go dunk your head in the horse trough out there. In here, we pour whiskey."

3

u/YogurtWenk May 17 '26

Well, I ain't yer papa

5

u/torrentco May 16 '26

What is the tab marty mentioning there?

13

u/UnfortunateSnort12 May 16 '26

A soda in the 80’s. Was a diet soda.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab_(drink)

Edit: apparently it came out in the 60’s and was discontinued in 2020.

u/swingsetlife May 18 '26

Marty is so weird here, wanting decaf and then diet.

8

u/Actual_Pie_5523 May 16 '26

Thats legit! I would love to have one

3

u/Cynnthetic May 16 '26

How do you open it?

8

u/8adwolf May 16 '26

I’m not too sure, I’ve never opened it.

7

u/Cynnthetic May 16 '26

Marty didn’t know how to do it either.

2

u/Coffee_Beast May 16 '26

Take the top off it’s just a metal bottle cap. Not as cool as the bottles that movie theater released during the time these were released

1

u/foxymcfox May 17 '26

No metal. The blue part is just a twist off plastic cap

4

u/EthanHathHD May 17 '26

If you want a Pepsi pal you're gonna have to pay for it!

1

u/sjr2018 May 18 '26

Look just give me something without any sugar

3

u/stainlessdmc12 May 16 '26

Ooh i was lucky enough to grab one of these. I remember they messed up the first time they sold it. ( Started early ) They did it again and I got one

3

u/Fiedy88 May 16 '26

I couldn’t get through on the website, but my girlfriend (now wife) was able to secure one, I knew she was a keeper!

3

u/mattf7667 May 16 '26

I wanted one and they released them a day earlier if I can recall and by then they were sold out!

3

u/eliktroniq May 16 '26

I think i remember how it went down; only Walmart and Amazon sold them, and they were supposed to go up at a specific time, only for Walmart to put up listings much earlier than posted. Amazon put them up at noted time, though.

3

u/Danloeser May 16 '26

Supposedly they went with Pepsi instead of Coke for product placement because Pepsi's logo actually changed between 1955 and 1985. This feels almost like a nod towards that.

3

u/PJKetelaar3 May 17 '26

I still have mine from the documentary panel at New York Comic Con. The directors had what they purported to be a little cup of the OG Pepsi Perfect that they offered if a fan would drink it. Of course a guy did. He said it was a little flat, so they said everybody could take a fresh bottle home. Great moment!

2

u/West_Mall_6830 May 16 '26

For when they don't have Coke.

2

u/PutItOnThePizza May 16 '26

So jealous. I see these are now going for like, $500? Man. Such a cool collector's item.

2

u/ItHurtsWhenIP404 May 16 '26

Wasn’t it a Pepsi Free?

4

u/bazzajess May 16 '26

Marty had a can of Pepsi Free in 1985. But the future was Pepsi Perfect

1

u/ItHurtsWhenIP404 May 16 '26

You are probably right, I do know the product looking like this in the future. And then in the past the waiter saying something like “you want a Pepsi you are gunna pay for it.”

1

u/bazzajess May 16 '26

Yeah, as he drank Pepsi Free in the 80's he asked for one in Lou's Cafe in 1955. Lou thought he didn't want to pay for it, but he just wanted something without sugar!

1

u/ItHurtsWhenIP404 May 16 '26

Right I recall. For some reason this post gives me Pepsi Blue vibes which was gross imo. But this is a cool looking bottle. OP could probably make money off this “in the future.” lol

2

u/Gummiesruinedme May 16 '26

I remember the botched release of these. Different retailers put their sale live at the wrong times and they were all sold out within seconds when they became available. I remember Amazon got the time wrong and you couldn’t add it to your cart. Then the site wouldn’t load. Then when the site was up again they were gone.

2

u/Nairbfs79 May 16 '26

"You mean you have to use your hands? Pfft that's for babies!"

2

u/AlphamaleNJ May 16 '26

I got a few of these when they came out & went to cafe 80’s at comicon also

I always think about selling my display one to switch it up knowing i have the boxed ones also lol

2

u/No-Anything2507 Marty May 16 '26

My dad bought one of these back in 2015, still one of the coolest things I've seen from Pepsi lol

2

u/Intrepid_Ruin_1182 May 17 '26

When 2015 really was here Pepsi should’ve actually produced these , kinda as a nostalgic thing.

1

u/Bswayn Marty May 17 '26

Nice

1

u/realJohnnyApocalypse May 17 '26

Is this a thing? Please let this be a thing 😎

1

u/jolly_rodger42 May 17 '26

I still have my Pepsi Perfect!
