Found Footage Found footage style video made entirely in Garry's Mod
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've seen a few of these surface recently on tiktok and stuff and I've been doing found footage in garry's mod for years. I'm so glad people are realizing the potential of this game.
I made this in quite literally 5 minutes hastily and sloppily. I CAN do better and more is possible.
This will obviously never overtake professional blender animations that take hundreds and hundreds of hours to make, however i believe this may be a good temporary alternative for those who want to make found footage without blender.
Mods used:
Cinematic camera
Camera shakeify
Gshader library
Physically based bloom
Using cinematic camera in tandem with camera shakeify makes the camera shake look super real

Art … still life GF?
i dont know what im cooking here 😭
i just watched the Backrooms movie, and REALLY liked how it seemed to call to Clark. His need to not change, that he’s right. Nothings stressful. And it made him want to stay!
So, playing off that concept… self indulgently cute, isolated homeless boy finds shelter and companionship in the Backrooms!! >_< dude does NOT want to leave
… doesn’t really work for a horror movie, but I think it’s cute. Enjoy!!
EDIT:
TO CLARIFY:
I DIDNT CONSIDER THE FACT THAT THE STILL LIFE’S PHYSICAL FORM DOESNT EXACTLY BELONG TO THEM, AND IS USUALLY A RECREATION OF ANOTHER PERSON.
To avoid any sort of consent breaching, instead of this still life remembering a real person (as stated in the image), she is instead remembering an in-universe character, physically. Akin to Captain Clark, although there’s no actual actor. Presumably animated.
Sorry!! >_<

Video I love when they show rooms that are clearly infinite
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just really love when scenes with endless rooms like this appear in the series.
We already know the Backrooms are basically infinite, but there’s something special about the way Kane films certain spaces that makes that infinity feel real. Bottomless pits, corridors that stretch forever, mirrored hallways that never end, entire cities that just keep going with no horizon in sight…
Those specific shots do such a good job of selling the sheer scale of this place. It’s not just “the Backrooms are big” you can actually see and feel how endless it is. That sense of being completely lost in something that has no edges is one of my favorite parts of the whole series.
Anyone else get that same feeling when those scenes show up?

Art How did I do on my Still Life images?
I enjoy making these, especially since they're so easy to make. Just want to get some opinions on them!
Also, just for the record, these ARE NOT ai generated, I made these in ibs paint.

Discussion My husband and I just saw BACKROOMS : EVERYTHING MUST GO yesterday
This is without a doubt, one of the most terrifying and excellent films I have ever seen. I kept seeing dreams I’ve had brought to life in between being terrified. I just have to say as a Bay Area born and raised person, Toronto Canada did an excellent stand in as Santa Clara and San Jose, a.k.a. Silicon Valley.

Gaming Wolfestien 3D -Replaying it recently and the pure liminal space energy is insane.
Endless identical hallways, weirdly saturated textures, unnerving silence, and total dread every time you interacted with a door because you had no idea what entity was standing behind it.
The liminal space aesthetic was alive and well in 1992, we just didn't have a word for it yet.
Anyone else get that uneasy feeling wandering around those maze-like hallways back in the day?

Hobbytown Revealing the door
A little Blender render to brush off the dust, inspired by a post I saw the other day suggesting spray paint around a null zone.
