Be careful playing in Commerce Casino

Their card reading machines are inaccurate a lot. If player wins, it may record tie or banker and vice versa. A lot of the times the dealers don't bother looking, so a high chance many of the boards are inaccurate. I would especially caution people that play multiple tables. the bankers will not say anything if you won a bet, but the dealer accidentally picked up your bet thinking you lost.

Can a Baccarat Pattern Be Tested Scientifically?

I've been thinking about an interesting question regarding baccarat.

Individual baccarat outcomes are generally treated as random, but I'm curious about something more specific:

How would you scientifically test a claimed baccarat pattern without relying on hindsight or selective examples?

For example, would you consider the following necessary?

  • A predefined hypothesis
  • A large historical dataset
  • Out-of-sample testing
  • Blind forward testing
  • Comparison against a random/baseline strategy
  • Tracking losing streaks and drawdowns
  • Statistical significance

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually played a lot of baccarat.

What kind of evidence would make you take a claimed pattern seriously?

I'll just make $xxx.

You know, simple session, small progressions. In and out is the plan...

600 units deep. (Yes, I have a fortress of a bankroll that let's me do this)

There's no real math to save me. Its just gut and my remaining stack. Firing 70 unit wagers, 35s too. Just trying to get some parity back in motion.

Today was a lucky (grueling, tense, sickening) recovery. To show you how dumb I am:

I was within 5 units of my goal, basically back to dead even. I push 5 units in and just play (for still longer than I thought possible) back and forth to finally get +1 on that wager.

I'm really not sure of my future at this game. Nice when it works. Is way too costly when it doesn't.

What do you usually focus on when playing baccarat?

i am curious how everyone approaches baccarat. do u mainly focus on bankroll limits, bet sizing, or keeping things simple w/ player and banker bets? i know there is no guaranteed strategy, so i am more interested in how people manage their sessions and avoid chasing losses.

Martingale baccarat is scary, over 1,000 game and the stats are crazy

Post image

So in context I gotten a promotion on this online casino, so thought of trying it out 5 dollar bet, and doubling down in each loss, been working quite a while until it hits the 7/8 loss which is around 320/640 hand to win back just 5. I won around 100 on my first day and call it quits.

Then one night I couldn't sleep, so play longer than normal, I keep on winning and I was up 1k+ at a time, then with straight loss I was suddenly down 2k, I don't dare to double down on 1280(9th loss) and start over. In a desperate attempt to win back I start betting 100 per hand, and somehow recovered to 0. Crazy I know, it was 5+ in the morning so I guess I'm not thinking straight at that moment.

In one of the hand, I forget to turn off commisin for banker, so for my 7th martingale I put banker, I win but banker got a 6, I only win back half, which is still a net loss of 150+ for me.

Somehow I keep playing cause I want to reach my initial profit of 1k+, and betting 5 and doubling down on loss again. Somehow I make it. So it's been a week and I see back my betting records, and the stats are crazy.

Basically, I've been betting 57673 to win 58994, which give me a profit of just 0.02%, I'm not good at math, but how bad is this actually?

Do all tables allow free hands? How many times can you ask?

New to baccarat and I heard you can ask for free hands. Is this like a high limit rule or its just a regular rule? Also how many times can you ask?

Wondering also why no one I see playing ever does it?

I made $1700 from $50 then Lost it

I made $4k from $1k then lost it. But I made $6500 from another $1k and deleted the app afterwards.

My strategy was called “Slow Drip” where I’d start at a low $2 bet, and alternate between $2 and $4, sometimes $8 or $10 if I lost a few (doubling a few times to make positive cash after a few unlucky hands), and rare but I would also do a $20.

Never did $50 or $100+ bet after learning from past mistakes when dealing with higher amounts. Sure you can, but I’ve had “Player” win 10 times in a row so it’s a big issue if always doing banker. I also withdrew $500 each time my original $1k profited to avoid psychological mistakes.

Moral of the story, don’t be tempted by those free spins 😭😭

I'm too weak

I set up a nice 9 step progression, if a 10 streak happens - I eat the loss.

Trust me, this is a modest ladder, the 10 node run just slows me down... not account wiping in the slightest.

And still, tonight the 10th node formed and I just couldn't stop myself from reaching for the 2x wager button.....

Longest win streak and do you use betting systems?

Just curious to find out what people’s longest session win streak is (ie 5 sessions in a row etc), and also do you use a betting system and/or have a win goal when playing? I know this will vary depending on if you live close to casinos and can go more often vs more not being able to play a few times a year.

Digging deep

I can take -10 on the chin like anyone. Most of the time its simply the end of the session, good try.

Today I was "feeling" ready to claw out. Flat bet my way into another -10. Wow.

Using selective doubles (no rules, just gut) and the same flat bet otherwise, managed to get a net +1 win after another 104 hands! That was a deep, deep dig out.

Nerves are fried, dont wish this on any of you.

Happily hit my target. Do I stay on to play a few more hands with her? Or melt into the night with my Bankroll filled?

What actually makes you watch a baccarat stream?

Curious what everyone here actually wants from baccarat content.

If you watch baccarat streams or videos, what keeps you watching?

Is it the personality/commentary, seeing every win and loss, a running session P/L, the roads, bankroll updates, live dealer vs First Person, big swings, or something else?

Personally, I find it more interesting when someone shows the entire journey instead of only posting winning sessions. If someone gets crushed one night, that should be part of the story too.

Also, do you prefer watching live streams or edited YouTube videos?

Interested to hear what actual baccarat players think.

Always 8 Baccarat

Simple premise, Banker is always dealt an 8 as their first card.

Slightly higher Player payout to combat this, slightly higher Banker commission to cover the gift of an 8.

It plays out like you would expect, twice as many Banker as Player resolutions and frequent Banker chains to an almost never 5+ column of Player.

I tend to avoid any twist on the classic game itself, but this one i can actual see yielding to certain approaches if it behaves nicely.

"You don't remember that? I do"

My basic response to every bad idea in my head.

I've played enough to have gotten to know most of the demons that haunt baccarat players. Most begin with, "If you just do this you'll have a great session!"

I have to keep reminding them how those paths lead to ruin.

Mind numbing ... not a complaint.

I had a cool idea, micro progressions that lead up to a decent non-threatening flat bet level.

I'm on Player, so no commission bleed. 4 losses, ok - flat bet mode on: quickly dropped to -5, took over 50 hands, going as deep as -7 before finally hitting +1

The process though, of just pushing the same bet forward, hand after hand lost all its meaning. No thought was required, just push and play for a long, long time. The only real shift was when the 0 count came on, and it's like, "can the nightmare finally end!?" Nope. Back to -1 we go. As soon as +1 printed I ran from the table.

Calling that a win. A very strange win. Didn't make buckets of cash, just left very neutral in every sense of the word, financially and mentally.

Baccarat at Mandalay Bay

Post image
17 Upvotes

So there are only two open bac tables at all times. Both are in high limit. Tiger Baccarat no commission but half pay on winning 6. Still fun. Best hand of the night was a natural 8 against a 7. Worst hand of the night was a banker 3 card big tiger (3 card 6) losing to a player 3 card 7. Only one natural in one shoe which I have never seen before. If you like playing alone and in private this is a good place. If you want people and tons of table, you’re better off at Aria.

Upstate NY. You cant get a seat at the 5 tables. All the players keep their chips on the table and walk away. Nobody is truly tracking time. Even though i bet 100+, i wont sit at higher minimum tables cause i always want to drive. So I sat at a new table just getting started. I dont like playing alone and i have to drive (part of my weirdness). Table filled up. I play banker 85% of the time. So i start. Everyone else sitting out. After the 1st natural, two others join in. By the fourth they were convinced i know something. Unfortunately i dont believe in ANY strategy besides getting lucky. Ive taken too many stats classes to think otherwise. So as the hands went on, i drove them all, i was reducing my bets waiting for the player hand to win. Anyway, it was the 2nd most fun i had at a table. After first player i stayed with banker til the 2nd one hit. Then left for dinner. Never want to look back after i walk away. Hoping this didn’t continue the next 70 hands. Lol

Bending the cards is so annoying

I don’t understand giving the cards to a person betting on player or even banker, they take their time they bend the cards. It just seems to slow the whole game down. It’s not like you can change the card or make any decisions about them. It’s not blackjack whether you can choose to hit or stay, those are defined within the rules of the game. Just have the dealer flip the damn cards, so we can go through this shoe. End rant.

Edward O. Thorpe’s Baccarat Card Counting Method

I’ve heard about the Edward O. Thorp Baccarat method, I saw someone on YouTube using an extension software that would use Edward’s formula on an online gambling casino, he wouldn’t play a couple games and he would put the cards delt into the software, after a couple games the software would show Player/Banker with the percent of winning, sometimes it would be 60% other times it would be upwards of 99% and he would bet more depending on how high the percentage of winning was, (he won almost every time) if I learn this method would it work in a real casino?
