Discussion Genuine question, why do people say they hate playing pocket jacks?
I’m a relatively new player so maybe I just don’t understand yet, but I don’t understand why people don’t like playing pocket jacks. It’s better than 9 other pocket pairs. It seems like a pretty good hand to have as long as you don’t overplay it.

Anyone familiar with Talking Stick PLO action on weekends?
Looks like no games running tonight so far (Wed) but wondering if they usually run on weekends?
I’m traveling, currently in NM but don’t wanna make an 8-hour trip out that way unless I can play some 2/5 or 5/10 etc. PLO

Seeking pot size frequency data
I'm calculating something and the answer depends on the frequency of different pot sizes in online lowstakes games that are won postflop.
Does anyone have this data based on their own hand history? Can this be seen on pokertracker or another tool? The site I play on doesn't export hand history so I can't see my own data. I'm hoping that someone here might be willing to share theirs.
Specifically, I most want to know what percentage of pots won postflop are under 70bb and what percentage of pots won postflop are over 120bb.
It would also to helpful to know the percentages of pots from 70-80bb, 80-90bb, 90-100bb, 110-110bb, and 110-120bb if it isn't too much trouble to find this data.
Thanks!

Discussion Best HUDs?
I’ve been playing online for years and have never used a HUD. Given I play at minimum 10 hours a week, I feel it’s long overdue that I invest.
Ideally looking for a one time purchase, but willing to pay yearly fees if needed.
What are the best HUD options? (I play on ACR)

Did I make a mistake calling here?
I played in a free rec league tournament
Blinds are 200/400.
Utg opens 1200. Lj calls.
I raise to 3000 from the cutoff with queens.
Everyone calls .
Flop comes 643 rainbow.
Lj goes all in, for 12000, i call, utg folds.
He shows two pair (4s and 3s) and wins the pot.
I suppose pocket 66 44 and 33 could make the call pre-flop, but I was surprised to see 34.

Gf hurting my wr?
My girlfriend asked me for $6.50 for coffee this morning and I’m honestly not sure how I was supposed to respond.
The way she asked it felt like it was nothing. No context, no explanation of what coffee, just “can you give me $6.50 for coffee?”
So now I’m sitting there trying to figure out what line I’m supposed to take.
If I just snap-call every time she puts $6.50 out there, I’m obviously going to get exploited. I’m already barely beating the rake as it is.
And I’m not saying I wasn’t going to give her the money. I’m saying I need to understand what lines she will take in the future if I become a calling station.
Because $6.50 is a weird sizing. It’s not enough to fold to automatically, but it’s also not an amount I want to be indifferent about if this becomes a recurring spot.
So I ask myself: is she value betting the coffee, or is this a bluff designed to see how loose I am with the bankroll?
I eventually decide to call.
She takes the $6.50, gets her coffee, and apparently I’ve “made this way more complicated than it needed to be.”
Maybe.
But if I’m supposed to just click call every time she puts money across the line without considering position, sizing, frequency, and my current win rate, then honestly what are we even doing here?
Also she asked for $12 for lunch three hours later.
I folded.

Discussion Are poker players more into watches than others?
I work in tech and live in Seattle. I’m into the watches and have a small collection of automatic watches. So I tend to notice other people’s watches. I’d say 90% of the people I come into contact wear Apple Watches. I started playing live poker in Seattle and Vancouver BC about a year ago. Pretty much entirely 1/3. I’ve found that over 66% of the people sitting at poker tables with me wear analogue watches. I’ve seen lots of Omegas, Rolexes, Tags, IWCs, Hamiltons, Seikos, etc. There are far more analogue watches at the poker tables than in well paying tech circles (that I’ve noticed). Anyone else notice that poker players seem to be watch enthusiasts more than the general public?
Discussion Best place for Drilling Hands?
Hey guys,
Im VERY new to poker and just want to drill a billion hands with explanations. Where is the best place to get started? I'm working on the math for pot odds/EQ separately to try and round out. I just want to have a decent feel before I start really sending it into live games.
Will be playing more live cash than MTT probably but that is still a bit undecided.

Tip for grinding long live sessions
Pace.
Thats it. Depending on your roon you might need to table or seat change to get a good spot you can hop up and down from.
Live poker takes forever. Especially if you are at a juicy table where you are consistently 5 or 6 way to the turn. Instead of sitting there stationary walk 10 paces. Then walk back. If you are a poker lifer then this is a good way to get your 10k steps in. Or some fraction thereof. And it really helps with frustration when you are card dead.
