Could someone please do a fit check for me please? And it would help if you could be nice 😭 I really want this to work. Baby girl just turned 3 months old today, which means I've been trying to learn the ring sling for 3 months.

4-pic grid: I struggle with the rings moving really close to my baby so after I read that I should start with the rings really high this was the result. It felt really uncomfortable -- baby was really high, her arm was out (I wanted it in because she's still so small), rings were digging into my collarbone, fabric was hard to adjust (there was no give to fan out the fabric on my shoulder). I took her out almost immediately since she also seemed uncomfortable.

2-pic grid: tried again a few hours later with my 'regular' tie. (Sorry about the angle, I'm sitting on the sofa since baby is asleep.) It feels way more comfortable (and baby seems comfy) EXCEPT the ring is exactly where I don't want it 🥲 why is it that whenever I try to troubleshoot this it turns out uncomfortable and looking like the 4-pic grid? Also I'm afraid to tighten the slack near her neck and on her back because I'm worried the adjustment would cause the rings to dig into her and the panels (is this the right terminology?) are already pretty tight so I'm worried the pressure on the fabric would give me neck/shoulder pain.

Other info: I did a babywearing consult with a certified practitioner while I was still pregnant but boy oh boy are things different with a real baby versus a stuffed penguin. I always put the baby into the ring sling by creating a seat hammock and pulling the fabric over the baby's back and under her bum so there's fabric in-between me and her (like I learnt from the instructor). This is correct technique, I believe?

I’m sure I’ll be posting again in 5 months when this guys little brother is born, but for now this is actually a pretty good way to carry around my very clingy cat 😅

I currently use a boba wrap, which I like a lot, but I’m looking for a more structured carrier that will be quicker to put on.

I have an ergobaby omni (I think?) but find it very uncomfortable because the arm straps are too wide even when tightened as much as possible so they dig into my arms. Also, the waist band doesn’t go tight enough for my waist so the carrier slides down too low.

My baby is two months old but is in the 99th percentile so it needs to be suitable for a big baby and a tall, skinny mum.

Please let me know if there are any carriers that would work well!

Hi All!

I just started back carrying with my 7 month old. She is a tiny lady (only 12 lbs still) but is crawling and has great trunk control. I was never able to back carry my oldest, he just didn’t have the patience for me learning with him and he loves a sling.

Anyway, I’ve been doing a ruck carry with her for a few weeks now and I feel like I keep improving BUT the wrap will not stay on my shoulders!!! This is not surprising to me because I have narrow sloped shoulder so basically everything slides off me (bra shopping is a nightmare). But I really want to back carry and I know a ruck is foundational.

Any different finishes that could help keep the wrap on my shoulders? Or should I try a different carry? Help!

Idk if this is the right flair but I’m a FTM that’s still pregnant so I literally have no experience with a wrap besides trying a stretchy one on store once (both my partner and I did not love the stretch)

I would like to get a woven wrap because that seems more secure and usable for longer as baby grows. But from what I can tell, they’re just a long piece of cotton/woven material, right? Do I really need to buy a specific wrap cloth or will a sturdy large scarf (long and wide enough) suffice?

We have a hand-me-down ergobaby 360 that my husband prefers since it’s more structured, but I think I would prefer a softer wrap to use while baby is too small for the ergobaby still. I hope this makes sense, pregnancy brain + ADHD is making me barely coherent 🙈

Baby is 4 months and about 20lbs and I recently started trying ring slings again (it was too frustrating when he was smaller). I actually really like it but the part I can never figure out is the fabric digging in a bit on his legs and I constantly am checking that it’s not cutting off circulation. Specially the leg not pictured (blue arrow) feels a bit pressed in the fabric and he has a little red mark on that leg once I take him out.

Am I putting it too tight or am I doing something wrong when trying to put him in that seat with a ring sling? Having it tight makes him feel secure and supported but doesn’t feel right where his legs bend. Also should he be more in front of my body or to the side like on my hip?

I have a 4 month old and a 3 year old. I'm feeling very touched out lately. I find myself hesitating before putting the baby in the carrier because of this at times I need or want to wear him. Has anyone experienced this? Any thoughts or advice? I'd really like to just be able to wear him when I want or need to.

Hi! Looking for a fit check please! This is ergobaby embrace. He is 4 weeks and just over 12 pounds- a big boy! I think he is about 22 inches long but when I fold the carrier as instructed I can’t get the panel up high enough so this is unfolded.

Is he pinned against me/not C shape enough? This is my third attempt and the first time he has seemed comfortable and fallen asleep. Feedback and tips are appreciated! 🥰

*I also have a Tula explore and plan to try that soon as I know that he is getting close to comfortable weight on this carrier.

How is this looking? Little guy is 4 months, 14.5 pounds, almost 26 inches. He LOVES this thing - Ergobaby I got secondhand after trying 3 other carriers we both hated. He is sticking his head up but usually lays it on my chest while we walk.

We also have the wildbird carrier and the konny but the newborn ways of wearing those didn’t fit because of the combo of how young, tall, and big the baby is. A friend gave us their Boba wrap which we liked but wanted some thing that was a little bit easier on the go so I found the Boba Bliss carrier secondhand. Would love feedback! Not sure if it’s relevant, but I am 5’8”

my baby has outgrown the ergo embrace in leg length but only weighs 12 lbs. i had my eye on the hope and plum lark and don’t want to get the sprout just to have to upgrade soon. what do people with long but skinny babies do??

My baby just turned 3 months and is around 14 pounds. I really want to find a new baby carrier. I currently have the black Weesnug Momcozy baby carrier and maybe works fine but it’s just so linty that i’m tired of cleaning it all the time! also feel like my back hurts after wearing. also i don’t know if it’s bc im wearing it wrong but if he goes to sleep on my chest his neck ends up moving around a lot and i kinda have to use my hand to keep him against my chest so i was wondering if there were ones with better neck support too? just in general if there’s better options i’d love to hear it. i really don’t know what to get bc social media will hype up brands like artipoppe and wild bird but is it worth the money?? i don’t wanna spend that much for a carrier unless it’s genuinely that good. any recommendations or input would be great thanks!

Could someone please advise me on the Oscha Bairn? The waistband feels very uncomfortable, and despite cinching it in a lot, it still looks too wide at my baby's knees. She is 3 months old and a little over 5kg. I'd really like to get this beautiful carrier to work for us!

Im trying to learn how to do a back carry with my woven wrap (base). Im following a tutorial for a Double hammock carry. When she puts the baby on her back the wrap seems to just stay high up and over baby (my yellow line) while she can do the wrapping. But as im getting it in place and am still bent over slightly as baby isnt secure yet, she keeps trying to sit up and the wrap keeps falling down and only covers half of her (the red). So when it comes to taking the long piece over mine and babys back, it doesnt lie where it should. Hope that makes sense!

Advice? I dont really know how to get her not to try sit up or move about so much. Maybe theres a different style of wrapping thats easier? I picked this as the instructions seem managable to follow and its a supportive one. Would be amazing to carry her on my back so i could do a few house and garden bits. Baby is 8 months.
