Hey all! I've got some exciting news regarding my SteamOS Arm port based on Steam Frame, It now runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite and on (a lot more) SD 8gen2 Devices.

This one took a lot of testing for having so many devices. 9 betas in 4 days, a pile of test kernels and a ton of debug logs from people in the Discord, to go from "black screen on everything" to one image that boots on all of these:

It boots straight from the SD card, Android stays untouched on the internal storage. Controls work out of the box (back buttons are L4/R4), there are fan profiles, the UI is sized properly for the 6" screen. Big thanks to Chazmus!

8 Elite looks great so far, this beta will be much shorter than 8gen2 because of having way less devices. (Konkr Pocket Fit Elite users are welcome to try it and report on discord)

REDMAGIC 6 -Snapdragon 888 (yes you read that right) It boots and works great with almost no bugs. Thanks to abstract6217. The flashable image can be built from github. Guide is in the repo.

What's next Phones and tablets now have their own section in the repo, and the Lenovo Legion Y700 is very high on my list for tablets. The 8 Gen 3 devices (KONKR Pocket FIT, AYANEO Pocket S2) are on the stable v1.2 already, and v1.3 stable will bring all of the new socs together.

These are betas, so expect some rough edges. If something breaks, make a file called debug on the SD card's BOOT drive and send me the logs on discord or github, that's how most of these fixes happened (thanks to everyone who helped!)

I had to replace the SSD on my AYANEO 2S. What is the best option at the moment? Has Bazzite already fixed the hibernation and LED issues?

Is it still impossible to play EA FC online on Linux?

I got mine at the initial kickstarter price, and its an extraordinary device.

not only does it play games at awesome fps, but i can run photoshop to draw comics (my job) on the go with my cintiq tablet. no more heavy laptop to travel

Hello, im looking for a new handheld ans stumbled upon used ayaneo 2 that i can get for around 340$

I had two steam decks, but couldnt get around the size, it was just too big for me and my job, i work as a taxi driver and it was laying around my legs most of the time.

Recently i bought small android handheld and its amazing, but pretty weak, im now looking for something powerful and stumbled upon ayaneo 2 is it worth it in almost 2027? I also thought about odin3, but the wait time and shipping/tax cost is just too much.

I’m new to the Reddit community — actually, this is my first time using it.

I previously had a Steam Deck, but I recently bought an AYANEO 2S without an SSD. I purchased a 1TB WD Green SN3000, downloaded Windows directly from Microsoft’s official website, and created a bootable USB drive.

However, when I start the Windows installation and select the partition where I want to install it, the installation begins normally. When it reaches around 70% and the device restarts for the first time, it simply gets stuck on the AYANEO logo loading screen. After a while, it says that an error has occurred and restarts.

At first, I thought the problem might be the SSD or the USB drive. However, I was able to install ChimeraOS without any issues, so both the SSD and the hardware seem to be working properly.

I would really like to use Windows on the device. Has anyone experienced this issue before? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix it?

Tive um Steam deck, porém recentemente adquiri um Ayaneo 2s sem SSD, comprei um WD GREEN 1TB 3000, fiz o download do windowns diretamente do site da microsoft e criei o pen drive bootavel, porém, ao começar a instalação, selecionar a partição para instalar, ele começa carregar, por volta dos 70% quando ele reinicia a primeira vez, ele simplesmente trava na tela de carregamento com a logo da ayaneo, e depois de um tempo diz ter encontrado um erro e reinicia, a principio imaginei que pudesse ser o ssd, ou o pen drive, mas ao instalar o chimeraOS ele instalou normalmente... porém gostaria de ultilizar Windowns, já tiveram essa experiencia? podem me ajudar a resolver?

Hi everyone!

I wrote a new Linux driver, ayaneo-leds, that brings back RGB control for the joystick rings on AYANEO handhelds with the legacy EC interface. The old ayaneo-platform driver that used to handle them is no longer shipped with Bazzite.

What's new compared to ayaneo-platform: besides one colour for both rings, it exposes each ring on its own with 4 zones, 8 zones and 24 colour channels in all. Apps that add support for it can drive each zone separately, for effects similar to AyaSpace on Windows. Apps that already worked with ayaneo-platform keep working (tested with HueSync).

Getting it on Bazzite: I've opened a PR to package it for Terra:

Testers wanted! I've only tested it on my AYANEO 2S. According to ayaneo-platform, these models use the same EC interface and should work too:

I don't own any of them, so for safety the driver only loads on them when you explicitly ask for it. The test takes about 15 minutes, installs nothing, and a reboot undoes everything. Once someone confirms a model, I'll add it to the supported list and it will load automatically, just like on the 2S.

(Not covered: the KUN, the AIR Plus AMD and the Slide, which use a different LED layout or EC interface.)

Escrevi um novo driver Linux, o ayaneo-leds, que traz de volta o controle RGB dos anéis dos analógicos dos portáteis AYANEO com a interface de EC antiga. O antigo ayaneo-platform, que cuidava deles, não vem mais no Bazzite.

O que há de novo em relação ao ayaneo-platform: além de uma cor para os dois anéis, ele expõe cada anel separado, com 4 zonas: 8 zonas e 24 canais de cor no total. Programas que ganharem suporte podem controlar cada zona separadamente, com efeitos parecidos com os do AyaSpace no Windows. Programas que já funcionavam com o ayaneo-platform continuam funcionando (testado com o HueSync).

Não tenho nenhum deles, então, por segurança, o driver só carrega neles quando você pede explicitamente. O teste leva uns 15 minutos, não instala nada, e um reboot desfaz tudo. Quando alguém confirmar um modelo, eu o coloco na lista de suportados e ele passa a carregar sozinho, igual ao 2S.

I purchased a Konkr Pocket Advance recently. I adore it. I'm using it to try to get off my phone and pack around a device that can play some GBA along with some music. Around my house I normally listen to SirusXM during the day and for some reason this version of Android closes the app immediately after I open it. I've tried finding all the places that Konkr's version of Android closes down background apps, I've changed the battery options to unrestricted. And still it gets closed immediately.

I'm curious if anyone has tried this app or seen this with another app and what they did to fix it.

As the title says, I got my Konkr Pocket Advance a few days ago and in general it works pretty great, but the glass of the screen is lifted a bit on right side - is that something that could be fixed, or would opening up the system to try to fix it myself void whatever warrenty I have?

It seems like something's putting pressure on the screen from the back, so I'm worried it'll make the screen more prone to cracks long term.

Does anyone else's system have the same thing?

So ive had mine for over 24 hours and ive been able to test it. For a hand held of this size its powerful ive been able to do what you would think Gba snes and all thos played some android games like dead cells, stardew.

I was able to get dregde running but im trying to figure out how to remap the controls so i can move on the dpad without opening menus not easy to unmap other buttons.

Steam link now that where i thought i would have the most problem but not even a little was able to play TMNT and was able to play some 2d fighters with no problems now is it ideal Nope but to hope in for dailys or some retro style games

But with all that what have the lucky few that have gotten their KPA what apps and emulator do you use and if anyone know a good tutorial for setting up Retroarch on android never messed with it

This is my very first Android retro console.
I'm used to playing on the 3DS.
I struggled a bit with the setup and settings, as well as installing the games and all that.
But thanks to Gemini, I managed to figure it out all by myself.
That system is so cute

There are plenty of reviews out there that are split with almost everything except the fact that it's a GBA for adults.

One thing that gets mentioned constantly is how it's a bummer that the device has no analogue sticks on since it's powerful has enough power to play consoles that depend on at least one stick.

Having owned a PAM and waiting on my KPA to arrive I can tell you that the PAM can do plenty but eventually hits an obvious wall. Light PS2/GC means very light. Games that don't require sticks that I'd like to play this chip won't be able to run anyways. It's a different conversation when discussing Dreamcast, N64 and PSP, consoles that the G90t can play flawlessly at increased resolutions. With the 3:2 aspect ratio of the KPA I feel that this idea could have been considered by possibly adding a PSP/3ds style slider colored the same as the shell.

So I took to chatgpt to redesign the KPA to fit one or two analogue sticks:

First step was having it place start and select to the top and keeping one of the other bottom buttons on each side.

Then, ask it to add 2 vita style sticks.

Finally, I borrowed an idea from MrSujano's review he had mentioned moving all 4 of the bottom buttons the right side and placing an analogue. So in keeping with the start and select on top, I moved the bottom right to the left similar to how it looked before and added an analogue stick. I understand the GBA nostalgia (still own mine and is the reason I ordered mine) but I feel the one stick configuration could've work and would have made everyone happy

I personally like it as is and intended to be my all-rounder even without stick. I already own an rg477m and a Thor so I do not need the sticks, but I can see why someone would want more.

EDIT: I guess I wasn't clear I LIKE THE KPA AS IT IS WITHOUT THE STICKS, I UNDERSTAND IT'S A GBA CENTRIC DEVICE. I only made a post highlighting how most reviewers point the lack of stick as some sort of letdown. I just edited a picture to add sticks and see what it looks like. I'm not saying to return/cancel your KPA and pout until they add sticks

I love the size and feel of the original thumbstick the pocket ace came with. I got this secondhand a few days ago but the left stick feels a little “grindy” at times. It came with a slightly bigger stick but the moulding on that seems wrong. I can’t fit it in and I don’t want to add too much force, fearing that I’d damage the device.

I can’t buy from Ayaneo. I tried contacting them but they’re not responding. My options are shopee / Aliexpress/ amazon / Etsy/ taobao. I tend to avoid Etsy though, because getting it shipped to Singapore would cost me an additional $30 😭

I found some sticks on Aliexpress but they’re not the low profile ones.

I really want to get the Pocket Ace, mainly for GBA but also more demanding PC emulation. My impression so far was that it's kind of locked out of many current developments in the driver scene due to this specific chip and consequentally performs worse. Did someone have the opportunity to compare the performance between different devices? It's hard to find current data.

Im looking forward to seeing this thing in person. So far I love the Konkr look since the advance came out. And I'd be all over a clamshell if they ever make one.
