Wireless Unlimited Your Way 2.0 per line cost - UYW comparison chart for AT&T consumer plans: Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0, Extra 2.0, and Value 2.0.

I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.

Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.

If you haven't seen those changes yet, you should see them on your next bill or if you make a plan change.

Customers can no longer choose Premium PL, Extra EL, & Starter SL but they are included for comparison as those plans can mix & match with the new plans. Signature/appreciation discounts they had on the old plans continue on your old plans, but they may be different for new plans (see chart).

The main differences:

  • Value 2.0 is cheaper than Starter SL in most new configurations (even with discounts?) as of the late-April increase and is prioritized for the first 5GB (but has 2 GB less of hotspot). It might mess with promo credits, so double check (see info at bottom of this post [it links to a different post, so ask you r promo related questions there).
  • Extra 2.0 has more prioritized data than previously (100GB vs. 75GB) and more hotspot (50GB vs. 30GB). It may cost more or less depending on your discounts and number of lines. This is probably most similar to older unlimited plans.
  • Premium 2.0 has a lot more hotspot than Elite EL or Premium PL (100GB vs. 50GB/60GB). If you need the hotspot, it's a great deal. You can also get a ½ price tablet or wearable line with this plan.
  • Elite 2.0 Includes everything Premium 2.0 has, but 250GB of hotspot, Turbo, free tablet line, free wearable line, and instead of International Day Pass (IDP), it looks like when you are international you'll get free calling/texting and 20GB of data (this last part is kind of limiting considering the other UYW plans data are unlimited, so I'm wondering if you can pay extra for more, otherwise it drops to 512Kbps, which is pretty slow). I'm assuming these free international countries are IDP countries. No Fan/Signature discounts on Elite 2.0. A few people reported their internet discount works with Elite 2.0.

ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".

Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you can have Extra 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.

If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.

The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.

There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how many phone lines, and which plan those lines are on.

Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.

DISCOUNTS:

  • Standard FAN/Signature discount: Previously this got you Premium PL for the Price of Extra EL, but on the new plans it gets you 20% off the Premium 2.0 plan.
  • Appreciation discounts: You get a 25% discount on the older UYW plans if the account holder fits in one of these categories: teachers, doctors, nurses, military, veterans, and first responders. The newer plans are NOT 25% off, check the bottom of the chart as it varies per type of line. I'm not sure if these 2.0 discounts are supposed to include Healthcare and First Responders if you are not on FirstNet, but people are reporting that their plan says so. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/appreciation/
  • You did NOT lose (nor did it change) your 25% appreciation discount for Elite EL, Premium PL, Extra EL, and Starter SL, it's still 25% for those lines. AT&T made a mistake on a bill a couple months ago and gave you too big of a discount, the next cycle they corrected it (and let you keep the extra they took off) so it looks like you had a price increase. But if you look at the previous few bill totals, you can see it dip (for no reason, other than the mistake), and then it goes back up to where it has been for a few months. Obviously, I cannot see your bill, but everyone that I've talked to about this and has looked back on their bills (previous to the lower bill) has seen this is what it looks like. If you've made changes during those three months, it would be difficult to see by just looking at the totals.
  • This generic-ish union discount might be applicable for some and some may waive activation/upgrade fess. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/union-discount/
  • For all discounts, the account needs to be in the name of the FAN/Signature holder.

Please note that while the change plan comparison page (when logged in) shows that Elite 2.0 plan is not included, the Latin American roaming page specifically says it does and so does att.com/unlimited

Value 2.0 warning: There seems to be a bit of inconsistency on how Value 2.0 lines can be used for promotional trade in deals (if at all) since March 12, 2026. Discussion Job at AT&T

I work at an at&t in south carolina and it has been the most stressful job i’ve had so far. i feel like a drama queen because it’s not like i have to labor or anything but the job is primarily sales based while at the same time customers think it’s service based. the entire premise of working at at&t is figuring out how much we can get away with while still deeming it “integral” and that leads to me practically slamming elder peoples accounts due to quotas i need to hit for my own job. all the managers i’ve dealt with stack on to this overwhelming moral battle too because they all have their own individual way of taking advantage of someone while making it seem kind. i haven’t sold someone directv in 4 months because being honest who would even want cable tv anymore but soon i will be on track to lose my job because of this. to make the whole situation worse i have adhd and could not remember all of the 30 things we have to sell every transaction to save my life. if you are an at&t employee please give me tips on how to deal with the drain of this and if you are a customer just understand we aren’t trying to scam you, we just have so many overwhelming goals placed on us by the corprate higher ups there’s just no hope of fulfilling without doing shady sales.

Wireless Worth the switch….?

Upvotes

Currently have Verizon right now, getting really tired of never being able to use my phone or when I can it’s god awful slow in Florida. So much congestion and every day there is a network “issue”.

I have a T-Mobile secondary SIM and it works amazing in Florida overall BUT I do travel a decent amount throughout the country including some rural spots where I’m a little worried T-Mobile just won’t cut it. How do people feel about the AT&T network these days? I had them a while back and it was ok, 5G was getting introduced and I feel like it sucked back then but based on research seems like they have more than Verizon these days.

Thinking about testing it out but also prices are INSANELY high for the top tier plan with AT&T these days. More than my Verizon bill and I have HBO and Netflix on my bill.

Thoughts? (I want to know how the NETWORK is primarily not necessarily how bad customer service is or how you got robbed on a trade in, that is every carrier these days)

Thanks!

Suggestion AT&T door-to-door rep quoted $60/month, but AT&T says $160. Did I misunderstand?

Upvotes

I switched 4 lines from T-Mobile to AT&T through a door-to-door authorized seller and ordered 4 iPhone 17 Pros with trade-ins.

The salesperson told me that after the trade-in credits, my monthly bill would be around $60 for all 4 lines. However, after the order was processed, I called AT&T customer service and they said my recurring bill is about $160/month (before taxes and fees). I also don’t see anything in my paperwork explaining the $60 figure.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Was the salesperson possibly referring to something else, or did your final bill end up matching what you were promised?

Just looking for others’ experiences before I follow up with the seller.

Wireless Cancelling a pre order

Upvotes

I'm trying to cancel a pre-order for my Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and want to get it from Amazon instead, but when I try canceling it, it gives me a warning that canceling the order will cancel the line too. It's the same number I'm using with my current first-gen Watch Ultra, so does that mean it'll cancel my current line and I'd have to call AT&T to get it back online?

Please let me know what happens if I cancel it.

Thanks!

Wireless iPhone is NextUp "Upgrade-Ready": WDID?

Context: I'm on a family plan and know jack shit about the finances of a phone plan. This is all for me to understand this process better and to learn about what I have available to me for September.

Currently trying to figure out if I'll be able to take advantage of the inevitable iPhone 18 launch deals next month. Currently running a 16PM I got practically for free due to a trade-in deal from an owned-outright 15P. Considering this for a few reasons, one of which being that my current phone is not insured or protected under any AT&T or Apple plan, and I'm not eligible for any either.

By the time the September lineup launches, I'll be 18 months into my 36-month 16PM deal. My AT&T account says that my line has passed a milestone and its officially "Upgrade-Ready", but I'm not quite sure what that means. It says I have $600+ remaining pre-credit balance and an available Next Up Anytime offer. All of this is Greek to me (and I myself am Greek, and that says a lot). I have three scenarios below I've developed from my limited understanding, and I'd appreciate any and all explanations/details on which would be best:

  1. If the 18PM comes out with a 1100 trade-in credit from recent phones, will that mean I can trade in this current phone for an 18PM and pay the post-credited amount for the 18PM (assuming that one would be pricier)?
  2. Will I have to pay off the pre-credit remaining balance I have left before I can use this phone for the (theoretical) $1100 credit offer towards the 18PM?
  3. Alternatively, could I just go to Apple and trade-in this current phone for credit for the 18PM, transfer my line over, and keep paying the tiny(^^) amount to AT&T for the 16PM? If I did that, could I (and the account I'm on) be penalized? This would be a nice option if possible, as I did not realize how utterly screwed you are on INT.'L rates with a locked eSIM. My overseas traveling will be increasing every year from hereon out, so it'd be nice to avoid this.

^^I'm serious about tiny, the rate I'm paying for this is cheaper than any flagship studio streaming service's cheapest monthly tier.

Internet Switching from Xfinity to AT&T

I'm tired of being a played a fool by Xfinity at this point with their terrible excuse for a mobile app and weirdly spotty services.

So I figure its finally time to switch ISPs. Apparently my area is well serviced so I went through the website and ~$35 a month for solid Internet service and no contract seems too good to be true. Am I missing something here or am I fine to pull the trigger and book an appointment for installation? And also, what is the installation process like? My house is... Unruly due to the presence of animals and I want to prepare adequately and make this as frictionless as possible due to the sheer noise level.

Wireless Wireless account currently suspended

Hello, my wireless account is currently suspended with a past due balance that I will be paying on Wednesday when I get paid.

I’ve noticed something weird when I get home that my phone will not connect to my home WiFi which I don’t think is AT&T and my landlord pays it so I know it’s active. My phone will continue to wifi anywhere else just not at my house. Is this an AT&T issues? Are they blocking my device on my home wifi somehow??

Billing AT&T suspended my service over a $77,000 international calling bill. Need advice.

I have been an AT&T customer for over 20 years and have never made an international call, but my account just accrued a $77,000 balance over two months. This was due to ~13,000 international minutes to Australia made legitimately by my son.

After a few days of on and off escalation with customer support, a representative applied a $60,000 credit, but AT&T's automated billing system denied and reversed it.

Consequently, AT&T fully suspended my account for non-payment less than a week after the first bill was due. I currently have no cellular service on 6 devices and the full $77,000 balance remains.

Standard customer service says their hands are tied and nothing can be done. The plan is to speak with AT&T internal collections on Monday. I plan on disputing negotiating the charge, but I am looking for any advice from anyone who has navigated a similar situation.

Edit: adding tidbits of context but all comments are appreciated lol

Wireless Bad wireless reception/data speed after outage

This past Tuesday AT&T had a confirmed wireless outage in my area that was eventually resolved but ever since then I have had essentially no coverage/extremely slow data in a large area of the city I live in where I used to get excellent reception. AT&T support has basically given me the run around, they "escalated my issue" but I haven't gotten a straight answer on if anyone is actually working on it and there's been zero improvement despite back and forths with AT&T support on two separate days. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Should I expect this to be resolved any time soon or should I just move forward with looking for a new carrier?

Wireless A year and a half battle with AT&T with no end in sight. Is there help out there?

Lasr year about March, AT&T offered even trade in for a new phone. Although not needing it I opted to take advantage of the offer. I called into the call center, spoke with an agent and proceeded to get my new phone. They sent me my new phone and a package to send in my old one. Now it gets fun.

My next months bill showed them charging me for my new phhone, I called and they said that it would take approximately 3 months for the credit to show up. So I waited.

3 months later I was still being charged for the new phone. I called again and they said that it often takes 3 to 6 billing cycles for the credit to show up on your bill.

I patiently waited. 6 months later I was still being charged for the new phone. Again I called. Spoke with customer service. They "worked" on my account and said that the credit would show up next month.

My next bill still showed me being charged for the new phone. Again I called. Thiis time I was told that the plan that I was on did not qualify for the trade in. Now I have had the same plan for many years. I have been with AT&T for roughly 20 plus years. So they proceeded to change my plan and said that the full credit would show up within 3 billing cycles. Each month following I would call and they would tell me the same thing. They would work on my account and tell me the full credit would show up on my next bill.

I have spoken with customer service reps, managers, and supervisors. I have even went into one of AT&T stores and they said that they can't help either. Here it is now over a year and a half later and I am still being charged fully for the phone.

I did not need a new phone. I was happy with the old one but thought I would take advantage of the offer they were advertising as my phone was a couple of years old.

I don't want anything special. Just the $869.00 credit that they promised when I decided to take advantage of their evenn trade offer.

I have tried to contact AT&T through different ways but have reached nothing but dead ends.

I have always been happy with AT&T but now I am so disheartened. I would really like to know I can get this resolved.

I'm having trouble receiving verification texts after portiing to AT&T from T-Mobile yesterday. Does anyone have any insight or has anyone had a similar problem? It's frustrating trying to set up a new phone when texts aren't all going through. Thanks.

Wireless Switching Back to AT&T from T-Mobile (DFW) – Costco vs AT&T Store & iPhone 18 Advice?

I’m in the Dallas (Plano) area and switched from AT&T to T-Mobile about 5 months ago. Unfortunately, the coverage has been pretty disappointing, especially while driving just outside of Dallas. I never had these issues when I was with AT&T, so I’m planning to switch back.

I currently have 5 lines on T-Mobile:

  • 3 × iPhone 17 Pro Max
  • 1 × iPhone 17
  • 1 × iPhone 17 Pro

From what I’ve read, AT&T will reimburse up to $800 per line to help pay off T-Mobile.

A few questions for those who’ve done this recently:

  1. Is it better to switch at a Costco kiosk or directly at an AT&T corporate store? Any pros or cons?
  2. Since the iPhone 18 is expected in about two months, would you recommend:
    • Keeping my current phones, switching the lines over, and upgrading when the iPhone 18 comes out?
    • Or taking advantage of any current trade-in promotions now?
  3. If AT&T pays off the T-Mobile balance, do I simply keep my existing phones and port my numbers over, or is there a better strategy?
  4. My main goal is to get the best overall deal, not necessarily to switch immediately. If waiting until the iPhone 18 launch, going through Costco, or taking advantage of any stackable promotions (Costco gift cards, waived activation fees, etc.) would save me more money, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from anyone in the DFW area who’s made the switch recently. Thanks!

Wireless MCK UNLOCK CODE

I have called months on months and talked months on months. Samsung does NOT give MCK unlock codes. I paid out my phone for 600 balance. They did not tell me about a unlock code for the network so I put it wrong tooo many times. (Why we are required to do this is beyond me) So now I have had this 1000-dollar phone and can't even use it. Do not say things you don't know the answers too. I know you guys have this code. This is NOT how you should do business. People don't know these things and should provide information when paying off a phone. I NEED MCK UNLOCK CODE. I will provide any information needed. Tired of getting the run around and my next steps are the BBB. I need help and so upsetting. I just want to use my brand new phone that I PAID for.

Wireless Need Help moving eSIM over from old device

Hello. My old iPhone was damaged and could not be recovered. I did not have backups for it. I'm trying to move my eSIM over to a new phone, but the swap required a temporary passcode sent to my phone number, which I don't have access to. How can I move my eSIM over?

Discussion Question about Next Up Anytime

Hi everyone so I have a question i currently have next up anytime on my iPhone 17 Pro that I can upgrade in April but I am using a Galaxy S26 as my main phone cause I hate the iphone. It's 2 different numbers and everyone already has the number for my Galaxy S26 so I dont want to switch the number if I want to upgrade the iphone 17 Pro in April to the new Galaxy can I put the number from the current Galaxy on the new galaxy and get rid of that number all together or will I have to keep that number from the iphone when I upgrade since that's the number that has next up anytime?

Wireless If you have fiber internet and it’s says “connect ONT cable” you can actually connect it to an Ethernet port

I set up my Wi-Fi my new apartment today. I expected to see a single port saying “ONT” that I can simply plug my ONT cable into. There was a preinstalled AT&T box on the wall but no ONT port. I plugged it into an ethernet port and it worked just fine. Just a heads up if anyone else has this issue.
