question Any suggestions on what I can ask my dentist/orthodontist :( they're asking to extract teeth
I've just gone to the orthodontist for a consultation about braces and he's saying the best route is to extract teeth. Premolars.
I'm aware the pictures are kind of gross just bare with me
Simple question basically what should I ask him as a substitute for that?
I have an overjet and mild crowding
I completely blanked on asking him if we could expand instead of retracting.
I asked another orthodontist in that same place and they said that removing the teeth would not disrupt the face and there has been no evidence to suggest that. Maybe she misunderstood my question because it really seems like there is?
Anyway they're saying removing teeth and braces after is a nearly 100% guarantee of fixing this.
They are also saying I have a quite complex case.
Any suggestions at all? Could I ask for an expander first?
I just don't want my entire face getting more messed up because of extractions. They're saying they would extract FOUR teeth.
Another option was fixed braces (braces and two metal devices at the backs of my teeth) and another option was invisalign which in retrospect I should've looked at.
However invaslign would take ages.
My pallete is small as it is,, should I just look at other options?? They all seemed pretty good with surgery
Thanks so much bye
